They aren't brand new. There is a static white noise the old Tvs used to make when they aren't getting a signal. A shhhshhshh kinda sound. The right ear is making that noise. The left one works fine. If it doesn't work this helpful and simple tip, just delete any previous ipod you had saved and start the process. Then it will work, for sure.
