Allen, sorry you're having that problem. Did you perform a full reset on your AirPods? Have you tried connecting your AirPods to another iPhone or another device? Do you get the same problem? It might help to narrow down if the issue is with your phone (or the device you're trying to connect them to).

if it did not work, make sure it should be white-orange-white-orange-white (you hold it until the third white blinking). it's about 2 minutes holding it:) mine is airpods pro and it takes 15-20 seconds for changing to white or orange. you're welcome:)

Have you checked to see if the connectors down inside the case are dirty. If those don't have direct contact with the AirPods, then the AirPods won't be detected by the case.

If that doesn’t work you guys can try this. Settings>Accessibility’s>Audio/visual>Balance( drag in the middle so audio can be balanced between both ears )

If that doesn’t help try the following. Got my replacement that wouldn’t connect even trying the advice in this video - light would not change to white. Leave both AirPods in the box charging for 20-30min (advice from another video). Try steps in this video - finally worked for me. PS Got replacement on local ebay-type site and initially thought the AirPod wasn’t original…

I have second generation AirPods but the top of my case broke off so I bought a replacement. Whenever I try to connect and hold down the reset button the light just stays green I let it go and then it’s green again it will not flash white but in my second generation case it will flash white, what am I doing wrong?

If yours still doesn’t work,go to your settings and scroll down to accessibility, and scroll down to audio/visual turn mono audio off and make sure the dot is in between the L and the R

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. If you're able to try to connect them to another phone to see if you still experience the same problem. Helping to isolate the issue will give you insight. If you still have issues with them on the different phone then you know it's an issue with the AirPods. It seems they are not communicating with each other (the AirPods that is) very well. Try toggling the balance setting and the microphone - switching from left to right to see if this does anything.
what work for me is holding the button for a longer period and waiting for it to flash orange 2 separate times like the video mentioned. Thank you Handy Hudsonite!
