5:25 wanted to make some clarifications relating to the food list. I know that the dairy products say A1 specifically, but dairy is still ok, because goat cheese, milk, and yogurt, are made from casein A2. Which doesn’t have lectins. Also, when it comes to rice, ( sorry, corn cannot be saved. ) there is a way you can drastically remove the WGA from the wheat, by cooking it thoroughly, ( pressure cooking.) then refrigerating it. This is how you create resistant starches. Same goes for legumes. Even peanuts, but only the raw ones, not peanut snacks. Now while sadly the entire squash family is off limits, there are 2 nightshades that can be saved. The potato, and the tomato. The tomato can be eaten by removing the skin via a boiling technique. ( it should be on RUclips,) and certain types of potatoes, ( not including russet ) are resistant starches. Now I know this diet seems highly restricting, but it really isn’t. If you want more info, I suggest reading both the plant, and longevity paradox for more information.
The day before i had like 2 sips of whole milk (France) after like 6 months on the carnivore diet. The next day, i was completely inflammed throughout my body.
Just to clarify, the lectin avoidance diet is meant for those who are dealing with health issues that could be caused by lectins, such as autoimmune diseases. If you're otherwise healthy, it is not advisable to go on a strict lectin avoidance diet, although you might experiment with excluding one or several lectin foods at a time if you have a minor condition such as acne. Either way I recommend doing your research on this topic (google autoimmune protocol) and consulting with your physician before making any drastic changes to your diet.

After having reading the book is that, as all fad diets, you are stuck by eating a low diversity diet. Lectins are definitely bad for us but to what extent ? Elimination Diets might lead to other issues as you miss nutrients from the plants (like lycopen from tomatoes). The very best I’ve experienced for treating immune related problems is (high IgG, at least 45%) bovine colostrum.
This is an excellent info-mation! Except it doesn’t show foods that ARE good within this plan, such as: olives and olive oil, sweet potatoes, avocados, cauliflower and broccoli, dark chocolate, macadamias, pecans and walnuts, carrots, wild rice... pressure cooking can help with certain foods
On the Genius Life podcast, Stephen Gundry at the 31m mark, mentions how certain foods (ex. chicory) promote the beneficial bacteria that lines the gut.. and as it eats the mucus, it causes more of the mucus to be produced?! Dr. Peter D'Adamo has been talking and writing about them for decades. Lots of nutrition books now talking about lectins. 'Eat Right for Your Type' was the first, over twenty years ago. Nice to see they're catching up, but most conveniently don't mention that lectin specificity is often to a particular ABO blood type antigen. If you're referring to the neurogenesis video, by "not adequate" I meant it shouldn't be relied on as your only source of omega 3s. It's a great source of ALA and fibre but not much else
Really nice video, glad I subed this morning before it came out. Think we should all test our bodies and reintroduce food one by one. Only way to know if you care about your privacy and don't want to test your gut biome or DNA. Since our brain evolved with starch about 1,6 to 1,8 million year ago (I'll just leave this link here /watch?v=cgmfRUwqGy4&t=32s) I think it's even more interesting to note that we discover grains and legumes only 8k years ago. Glad I learned something new!
Thanks a lot for summarizing with such efficient and entertaining animation ! However, this book, and the declarations of Steven Gundry are establishing some plant paranoïa, which could make us point to poor food choices in terms of nutrients and health. Keep searching additionnal knowledge and find what's best for each individual !
You're right. I have the impression some people think they should avoid all lectins, so in my video I tried to make it clear that we all have unique sensitivities and tolerances to different lectins, and that through experimentation we can discover which ones we are individually sensitive to. Everyone is different, and the same diet will not produce the same results for different people.
Plants just don't want to be eaten-and who can blame them? Like every living thing, their instinct is to spread their next generation. Awesome video. Keep posting

Hey, you're welcome, thanks for checking it out. I'm interested in oxalates so I might get around to making a video on that sometime :) I'd prefer if you don't copy my videos, but you can share the link to the videos with your community. If there's a specific section you want to share you can use the share feature under the video and pick a specific time to start the video.
Same. A few weeks ago I watched a video interview of a doctor who claimed lectins are pretty much the end all be all cause of human immune dysfunction. I believe they do have an effect, but feel like it's blown out of proportion and we still have a lot to learn about it. I think certain lectins affect some people much more than others, and I think there are ways of counteracting most of the negative effects of lectins that haven't been investigated or talked about enough yet.
Read this article. I was skeptical too and we’re right, we shouldn’t stick to the first piece of info we see. tonic.vice.com/en_us/article/mb49gq/what-are-lectins-and-are-they-bad-for-me
It is my understanding that different people are sensitive to different lectins - either due to a poor gut health brought on by modern inventions such as those listed in the video, or due to the fact that their ancestors just haven't been exposed to them long enough to develop the proper microbiome and immune system to handle those specific lectins. Although it seems like Dr. Gundry sometimes advocates avoiding all problematic lectins, the book makes it clear that it's not about that, but rather figuring out which specific lectins are causing you issues, and avoiding them - in which the first step can be to avoid all the problematic lectins, before re-introducing them one at a time. Some lectins that one may be sensitive to initially, can actually be tolerable once you heal your gut. In fact, Gundry even recommends beans for those who can tolerate them. I knew this was a slightly controversial topic, but I really found the book to be incredibly interesting, so I decided to summarize it in a way to present my own understanding of the topic. The book faced quite a bit of opposition, especially by vegans, who decided to trash it based on the sole fact that it suggests plant foods can be harmful. From what I've noticed, many of them are speaking out against it without having delved deeper into the topic, or even having read Gundry's book. The link Mr. X provided is by far the most balanced critique of the book I've seen, and offers some interesting counterarguments. I can't guarantee that everything in this video will pass the test of time, but I feel it's worth sharing and contributing to our ongoing understanding of nutrition and diet related illnesses. Especially when it can seriously improve people's lives. There is no doubt that tons of people have tried this approach and successfully managed their conditions with it. You can google autoimmune protocol, which is a diet almost identical to Dr Gundry's, and which has helped many people struggling with autoimmune conditions. There's also a Plant Paradox diet support group on facebook which is filled with people who can attest to its validity.
Removing lectins got me off PPI and totally healed my allergies. I realize I'm just a guy on the internet but Dr. G is the real deal!! After being on his diet I'm shocked more people aren't using it. I guess everyone's too skeptical to read the book and try it. Their loss..
This is a brief but useful guide. I would suggest this Vitiligo guide *4VitiligoCure. Com* to my friends starting out on their journeys to clear skin, removing Vitiligo. Very much enjoyed reading this and appreciated the awareness into how my inside troubles can affect my skin.
6:03 I discovered that my body reacts badly to pork by something similar to that, so I can confirm it actually works. Basically I was raised consuming it often, at least twice a week. Then I converted to Islam and I stopped eating it (Muslims and Jews don't eat this meat), so my gut was completely cleaned from it. Since I live in a European country, it's quite common to find this meat hidden in other products or dishes, so it happened a few times that I accidentally ate it again, and every time I ate it I had stomach ache and strong diarrhea within 60 minutes after consumption.
FOCUSING ON WHAT I CAN EAT: Foods for people who wish to limit their lectin intake: pasture-raised meats A2 milk sweet potatoes leafy, green vegetables, spinach, mint, lemon, cabbage cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli Brussels sprouts asparagus garlic onion celery mushrooms avocado olives or extra virgin olive oil okra red wine Nopales blueberries (in season) Limit PEELED: apples, cucumbers, zucchini, de-seeded in season fruits/veggies AVOID FOODS: corn, A1 milk, corn-fed animal meat, bell peppers, grains, beans, lentils, squash. Lectins are most potent in their raw state. Therefore, cooking lectin-rich foods at high temperatures can dramatically reduce their content. Boiling or stewing legumes gets rid of almost all of the lectin content.
True, Dr. Gundry mentions this in his book. He talks about how about our bodily mucus serves a purpose of binding to lectins and preventing them from doing harm, and anyone who's eaten okra knows just how slimy and mucus-y they become when they come in contact with water.
@@MindDrip Is this the same with Chondrus Crispus? (Sea Moss) I've heard that CC will essentially re-coat the lining of the digestive tract with proper molecules, and also re-hydrate your cells.

Dr. Gundry says they are okay in moderation, so apparently it hasn’t been an issue with his patients. Autoimmune protocol guides on the other hand seem to suggest avoiding them

Hey Alex. I think you should take another look at the video. You completely missed the part of the video where I say that nightshades come from the Americas - and also that what we are sensitive to depends on our ancestry. What you're saying is alignment with everything stated in the video.
@@MindDrip Your right I did miss that part. But yea that's exactly what I was trying do, reinforce what you were saying by bringing up how Natives ate the highest lectin foods without issues
You are teaching this through an evolutionary apeish ( even though apes still exist) eye. But it can also be taught through a theological eye. Before the flood people were bigger and lived hundreds of years. Did not eat meat either. After the flood the whole biosphere changed. This does explain the change much better than the non proven evolutionary atheist view.
My background research shows that Steven R. Gundry's results are not based on sound studies. In most cases, scientific studies reliably demonstrate the opposite of his theories. Sorry to say. As an educated academic, Mr. Gundry should know how to evaluate scientific results. Your content presentation is excellent, though. Pity the science seems to be wrong.
@@HartmutGoetze That's all you have? He actually recommends eating nuts and foods containing fiber. He also recommends legumes for those who are certain that they do not have a sensitivity to them, for their prebiotic content.
@@MindDrip I had elaborated a little more. For some reason, my comments disappeared (I tried 3 times). Perhaps a bad internet connection. Point is: Large scale studies demonstrate that diets with nuts, legumes and fiber are super healthy for average people. On the other hand, you certainly have a point about the context. I am not here to proclaim "the truth". I don't know enough anyway. Just wanted to point out that scientific consent does not agree with Gundry in a couple of points. @@HartmutGoetze Again you say nuts and fiber like he condemns them, which is not the case. Did you read my last comment? It sounds like you have nothing honestly if you can't even point to anything except for a google search. If you're basing your research on some random sites that show up in google, you should know that many hardcore vegans with extreme biases went out of their way to bash Gundry for claiming that certain plant foods can be unhealthy for certain individuals. Ironically some of the critics, such as Michael Gregor, a period after critizing Gundry and his book, himself wrote an article about the potential negative health consequences of lectins.

@@MindDrip Your video is super clear and clever, with enough distance from the material you have examined. It must be a lot of work ! Thank you🙏
Antibiotics, vaccines, medication, heavy metals in water, lack of probiotics, etc. all these lead to AID
Plants just don't want to be eaten-and who can blame them? Like every living thing, their instinct is to spread their next generation.
Awesome video. Keep posting
Thank you for summing this up!
Thank you great video!
Great content thanks!
Thank you for the good overview. Tou directed me here from Tom and stephens new discussion on Impact/health theory.
Can you look into an overview on oxalate. Sally N Norton Can be the one to follow. Hope she had a book on that.
What can I do to get copywrite permission for some of your videos? . I have a nutrition community and Im working on a diet concept that considers these anti-nutrients.
Thanks for the response Mind.
I never new one could choose a specific start point when sharing. That would help a lot.
Very informative although I’m still skeptical about this.
Also how many people are affected by this problem?
Their loss..
what about fruits and veg
Great video but please lose the background music, it was distracting at best.
Subscribed and liked,. May I ask what software you used for animation?
Thanks. I use adobe illustrator and after effects
Eggs, chicken breast, olive oil, butter, and I'm good for the next 50 years!
Is that what you're saying?
I believe in this but how about the lady fingers vegetable
6:03 I discovered that my body reacts badly to pork by something similar to that, so I can confirm it actually works.
Basically I was raised consuming it often, at least twice a week. Then I converted to Islam and I stopped eating it (Muslims and Jews don't eat this meat), so my gut was completely cleaned from it. Since I live in a European country, it's quite common to find this meat hidden in other products or dishes, so it happened a few times that I accidentally ate it again, and every time I ate it I had stomach ache and strong diarrhea within 60 minutes after consumption.
Good video lessons.
So we should avoid it yet it can aid int he evolution of out digestive system by eating it for our offspring?
Avoid if you suspect it of causing an autoimmune reaction. You might even be able to reintroduce it without issues after fixing your gut.
good info, thanks.. that music though.
FOCUSING ON WHAT I CAN EAT:
Foods for people who wish to limit their lectin intake:
pasture-raised meats
A2 milk
sweet potatoes
leafy, green vegetables, spinach, mint, lemon, cabbage
cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli
Brussels sprouts
asparagus
garlic
onion
celery
mushrooms
avocado
olives or extra virgin olive oil
okra
red wine
Nopales
blueberries (in season)
Limit PEELED: apples, cucumbers, zucchini, de-seeded in season fruits/veggies
AVOID FOODS: corn, A1 milk, corn-fed animal meat, bell peppers, grains, beans, lentils, squash. Lectins are most potent in their raw state. Therefore, cooking lectin-rich foods at high temperatures can dramatically reduce their content. Boiling or stewing legumes gets rid of almost all of the lectin content.
If eaten, okra and bladderwrack seaweed gathers and removes lectins in our meals.
@@andersenvisuals2898 If memory serves Sea Moss was not mentioned in the book, but it might be the case that it has a similar property
@Taiwo Omotosho Google natural lectin blockers! I think there are some good articles that list foods that help protect you against lectins

is it ok to eat amaranth?
So it's clear to eat as your ancestors ate rather than just going all healthfreak and burn what your eating by working out.im from India and here apple cider vinegar never existed until the last two generations have gone health freak and now we can see apple cider vinegar in stores.when we deviate from our roots we deviate from health.
Are hemp seeds okay?
Dr. Gundry says they are okay in moderation, so apparently it hasn’t been an issue with his patients. Autoimmune protocol guides on the other hand seem to suggest avoiding them
Wtf I cant eat veggie, fruit, rice, bread now?
nope. human ancestors never did.
Its not as hard as you think. Gun dry Brussels sprouts are like my favorite meal now, but I use 1/8 of the amount of walnuts it calls for cuz those are pricey. If I feel like Chinese food then I add coconut aminos. Plant paradox diet recipes have changed my life for the better.
@Xana Xana show me some evidence that they did
@Xana Xana umm why should i? Youre the one accusing me of being ignorant. Prove that they did then.
If you want to know about so-called autoimmune deseases read Anthony William the medical medium or look at his website or videos.
Misleading. Processed beef has phthalates. Grassfed Beef is the healthiest food you can get
Take another look at the illustrations at 4:55. The point being made is that food items wrapped in plastic contain phthalates.
No- food grade plastic has been phthalate free since 2006. The quote you read specifically referred to *products*, as in processed foods, yet your illustration showed whole beef, which is misleading and inaccurate.
@@neoanderson367 The study actually doesn't specify, it just says beef. Where did you hear that food plastics have been phthalate free since 2006? I can't find anything to back it up. But if that's correct, then that's great

Tomatos are not from Italy for one and Europe did not start eating tomato till the very late 1800 because they thought it was poisonous due to lead plates avoiding the issues with tomato. Native Americans from Mexico been eating tomato with seeds skin and everything for thousands of years and no such problems exist with the population or with other Native population that ate Chile Peppers, Potatoes, Peanuts, Beans and Corn
For me.. tomato and gluten
What symptoms do they give you?
Where is the list with the products I can't eat?

Sooooo basically EVERYTHING has lectins and we’re all gonna die... Got it👍
You are teaching this through an evolutionary apeish ( even though apes still exist) eye. But it can also be taught through a theological eye. Before the flood people were bigger and lived hundreds of years. Did not eat meat either. After the flood the whole biosphere changed. This does explain the change much better than the non proven evolutionary atheist view.
Lectins cause joint pain
Yep
Well thats me fucked.
What specifically is he wrong about?
@@MindDrip Example: One of the most healthy diets known is rich in fiber, legumes and nuts.
You may like to google "lectins science" to see what I mean.
I would like to see some scientific evidence of these claims. Any peer reviewed studies you caan site?
They are all listed in the book
quinoa is pronouced keen-wah. great video, bro
As far as I'm aware they are both valid. As a Spanish word, hear a Spanish girl using both pronunciations: ruclips.net/video/F0Tz9EMyMcg/видео.html

What about fiber?
What about it?
Mind Drip does it increase gut microbiome
@@ameen_was_here4958 Not sure if it increases microbiome diversity but there is no doubt that it's healthy to consume a good amount of fiber. One study in mice showed a lack of sufficient fiber caused the gut bacteria to start consuming the intestinal mucus layer which protects us from things such as lectins.
