  • This special Antioch University interview with internationally recognized political activist, feminist organizer, compassionate humanitarian, and public intellectual Gloria Steinem was the kick-off keynote of the Antioch Works for Democracy Speaker Series. This one-hour conversation was facilitated by Carol Jenkins herself a well-known civil rights activist, author, and Emmy-winning television anchor.
Gloria Steinem is one of the nation’s most recognized voices and fiercest advocates for women’s rights, equal rights, and an inclusive democracy over many decades. Steinem shared her reflections on critical strategies and valuable lessons from the past as we face today’s widespread attacks on women’s health and reproductive rights in states across the country.
Antioch Works for Democracy 2024 is a multi-month campaign of education and action to build a more just and inclusive democracy during this critical election year. This initiative consists of six pillars: voting, organizing university-community initiatives, volunteering efforts, educating each other, speaking out, and sharing stories and resources.
