Props to Mana, I simply can not imagine walking on the river bed with zero visibility and a 20kg weight on my head. Thanks for the insight into an interesting job and I hope Mana gets to keep doing his work!
A very interesting topic. "One man's trash is another man's treasure." I am sure that for most people it was not an accident, they threw those items in the river on purpose, most likely making a wish. Those people don't know but their actions are actually helping someone earn a living. Amazing, how much the divers love the items!
that diving suit reminds me of the one Tintin used in the comics! All jokes aside, the lengths they go to to keep their homes is commendable. Hopefully they will succeed. nice one from DW 👌🏾
*A very curious job.* A bit like the beach treasure hunters with a metal detector. May be he will buy a metal detector and start hunting gold chains on the beach, after his home is demolished. Good luck diver man !
Hi DW! This is totally unrelated but can you please make a docu about Chia Seeds like what you did to Avocado docu, 'Organic food - hype or hope's and my Fav, 'Science myths and health misconceptions'. You're the only one I trust in this capitalism world. I find your documentaries far from the long arms of corporate America. Very non-biased to say the least. Thank you!
Hi @D Leewigh, Thanks a lot for all your comments and for watching our content so regularly. We're glad that you're enjoying our channel. Unfortunately we don't have any plans to make a documentary about chia seeds at the moment but if there are any other topics we think might interest you, we'll get back to you. Similar to mudlarking on the Thames but diving down in the river seems so primitive. Bangkok appears a very developed city so I think that the new development and leaving searching for treasure in the past is the way forward.
Yes Bangkok is a modern metropolis, like any other big city in the world. The difference is, if you drive 30 minutes in any direction from the city, you are straight up in the third world.
That's a rough way to make a living. That water is probably full of pathogens and toxic materials. 😬 If any of those coins are made of silver or have numismatic value he's getting ripped off at only 25 euros for all of them. As they say, knowledge is power.
Ive been to Thailand several times, basically, you cannot drink the water anywhere in Thailand, bottled water only. Imagine the water quality in the river.
It's the humidity that is the real killer. And it rains constantly, even in the dry season. Most buildings in Thailand have streaks running down the sides where the elements are eating away at the metal parts.
You mean South Asia and Southeast Asia that are hot? Because as far as I know Central Asia, Siberia and East Asia are nothing like in the video at all.
No archeologists, making a profit & he’s religious?! Oh wait, it’s not the US so he doesn’t have nosy morons hounding him 😂. Good job guy in video working to put food on his family’s table💪🏽
illegal artifact trade? and It just less then 40 year of building but before that they live in a boat house like a nomad of the river more information I look back in aerial photograph from 1973 the still live in a boat house

Why should he give up doing what he enjoys just because bangkok is developing?
He should also use a powerful magnet that way you dont always have to go into the water

This is much better than the so-called "climate change" videos that you sometimes produce.
Oh look, another climate change denier cook.
All their documentaries are good. You just can't handle having your delusions challenged.
