Cannot believe how important this is right now. Writing this with my ocean cleanup sunglasses on my head 😎
;(. I lost mine. It suck. We tried to call the place we thought we lost and they day they don’t have it.
Watching while wearing my Ocean Cleanup t-shirt.
@@tgsoon2002 Would you consider buying one of their other products?
They are currently sold out of shades! Wow 😅
@@cool_christian92 you mean the sunglasses? they are limited only and it been end long ago. I lost mine 😞 suck that they can't find it back.
This project management is a master piece. 1.) Everything is based on science instead of ideology/politics 2.) Everything is based on collaboration instead of accusations 3.) Everybody can get in involved in a inviting way instead of pushing, 4.) the results are great and valued even if it takes much longer as the initial guess - true agile. Keep on going and write a book about it. Many organizations can learn a lot from it.
What strikes me, besides how wonderful this project is, is just how beautiful the Interceptor is. I can see people visiting that part of the river just to witness the magnificent cleanup vessel in action!
I was there in May, did a river boat journey, and was gutted I didn't see it! I forgot it was there, otherwise we would have made a specific journey to see it from the nearby river bank.
You really think so? More than 20 years living in Thailand and can safely say " never gonna happen " , maybe when this generation of school kids grow up it might start to make a difference, I really hope so anyway
We honestly need a 24/7 live video for the interceptor
I really appreciate how Ocean Cleanup involves the local leaders working on the issues. It recognizes that total team effort needed to address the problem and that this is one tool for a larger cause.
1 of the few non profit companies who get better and bigger at what they do WORLDWIDE… bravo!
Hands down, this is the most wonderful project I've ever witnessed. All I can say is thank you.
It's great to see that local people are involved in this clean up. It's very important that more people are involved in this! Thank you for sharing this!
From the other side of the Planet - and from the buttom of my heart:
Thank you 🙏
Probably one of the most inspiring projects that actually has a tangible results. 100% great!
Interceptor 019 already?! Wow. This is awesome.
Every time I see one of these videos literal tears come to my eyes. You are doing amazing work! I look forward to the ingenuity and creativity of the Thai people to contribute back to The Ocean Cleanup to improve the Interceptor even further.
Please tell the man talking at the start, I agree with him he should be proud working to save our planet is an honourable job for sure!!!! I might live in another Country but we share the same planet so I appreciate him and all the team's effort - great job!!!!
❤️. I’m so proud of you all for your energy and dedication to clean our waterways and oceans. Well done and thank you again, Boyan for making it happen. You are a wonderful human xx
Thank you OCEAN CLEANUP!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤
I was in Thailand in 97' and 99' training with the US and Thai army. My biggest take away from that training was how amazing the people were in Thailand. Ii warms my heart to see this clean up being done, Thailand is an absolutely beautiful country!
Thank you for helping save our planet
Thanks!
Bravo Thailand!
Keep up the work! Awesome to see The Interceptor around the world! Donate if you can! ❤
great job!👍
Enjoyed from Texas!
Absolutely one of the best projects happening right now. Thank you all so much ❤️❤️❤️🌏🌍🌎❤️❤️❤️
Brings back warm memories of my time in Bangkok. This is a true accomplishment and I’m so happy to see the Ocean Cleanup continue to grow.
Thank you for the work you do for the environment. So happy to be a part of it with my regular donations ❤
It is incredible what The Ocean Cleanup has done and continues to do. Watching these videos there is a tremendous amount of trash that now won't wash up onto our beaches or reach the ocean. There also is a lot of natural biomass that is being picked up as well. Do we know if there will be a negative effect if this natural biomass is no longer reaching ocean water?
I know that area well. Unfortunately there are many water ways that lead to the sea, plastic waste floats out to sea from all directions. Great to see this in action though!
Fantastic! Thanks to everyone at the OC for everything you are doing!
Love these videos. I said it before and I'll say it again. I wish I could put more of these out.
They have about 250 videos.
Thailand will take this serious. Thank you!!
Don't forget: Stop It At The Source
This must go hand to hand with Thailand improving waste mamagement, water treatment and education.
True but with every undertaking there needs to be a step 1. And people seeing this everyday and getting actual measurements is the starting point
@@kidkouga92 agree
Oh my favourite city ❤️. Love that this is done now at the city of angels!
Your favourite city? It's a fuckin cesspit mate, what's wrong with you? Visually challenged? More 5han 1 day there and I want to throw up
Awesome job as always! Just wanted to note, a missed opportunity at @5:00 for the guests to not be using single use cups and hand towels literally at an event about reducing plastic waste.
Thank you for this initiative. I‘m glad that maybe there will be some big changes to avoid trash. Everytime I visit my home country, I will go to the markets with a bag. Everytime I refuse the plastic bag, they will look at me like I‘m a alien 😂
Politicians being part of a solution? A novelty. Hope others follow suit.
Awareness that is what i think is a very important point has been shown here. The more of these actions and the better people will see and know what is up. Heroes!
I love these videos! Congratulations Thailand. Im always curious to know what happens to the organic material that gets gathered with the trash.
Please make livestream and make money out of these machines. I would love to watch these
this is great not only for Thialand but the whole world , and we should educate the younger genaration to live a clean life to help the eviromant
Truly exciting!
No, sad. For all their efforts its not going to make a noticeable difference. People need to want change before it's too late
Getting the clean up done is good news. What we need to do around the world, is educate people to stop dumping waste in the first place.
Keep up the AWESOME work guys! We're so proud to support you!
God bless you all 😊😊😊❤
Guys you are amazing! Here we go, humanity is growing up, cleaning its mess in the room. So we need to restore some burn carpets (deserts), we need to have water and so on. We need to do paradise on this planet, clean water, clean ground and air, clean food, no poor people suffering from hunger and from being poor, we can do it already.
What a good development. Finally.... When I'm in Bangkok and I saw all the trash in that river I was a bit upset😢...Looking forward to see the results....good job
Ur saving the world
This is truly an awesome system. Amazing to see what it can do.
Keep it up, Love what you are doing
Amazing people doing amazing work. Not the soloution to the bigger problem but definitely an amazing step in the right direction.
Every country should have this machine!
simplesmente matavilloso .x los peces por el agua x el planeta x la buena gente q cuidamos el medio ambiente
Every country in the world should have these amazing smart machines, the world would be very clean in a decade 😁🙏 thank you for cleaning our oceans n rivers. God Bless you all 🙏🙌😊❤️
keep going guys!
Love the enthusiasm…all the best from the UK 🇬🇧
It should be also shown on local TV to show people to think from where does this trash go from?
Guys come to Costa Rica please❤ you will be happy welvome.
Thanks a lot ❤!!!!!
Maybe the short term aim is to help show where the rubbish is coming from and stopping it there so the interceptor can move to another location in Thailand..
We need millones like this, like and share❤
Because not enough people care?, big business ram plastic packaging down our throats with everything we buy just to sell a bit more, make an extra buck, stop it at source or we'll never see a difference.
😳. .👏. .👏. .👏 . .🏆🥇🎯 Very Happy & PROUD of you ALL !🎉🥳
SET the EXAMPLE ~ BE THE EXAMPLE ! 🙌👍
But let's not forget to reduce our plastic usage so that it never has a chance to end up in the oceans again!
Super good that they finally came to Thailand and Chao Phraya river in Bangkok,I have seen with my own eyes how dirty the river is,so I hope that this project will be very successful.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
❤❤❤❤❤Thank a lot for our country❤❤❤❤❤
this channel should have more subscribers than mr beast, why does it only have 850k?
Thank you so much for everything that you do ❤
Educate the people start in school
You guys are awesome! So important to clean up and generate understanding in the local people how important this kind of cleanup is. Nevertheless, it is also clear that you need a working disposal system and education of the locals otherwise the trash flood will never stop I can see that in, my supposed calls first world that when the area is a little bit more rural systems collapse and people trash the area because it’s much easier than the effort to go to the next trash bin!
They have no trash collection in the rural areas. I've seen videos of their slums.
AMAZING WORK!
Awesome🙏🏼. Thank you.
Great to hear them wanting to "work together", but how about doing something that helps not polluting the river?
Both are important, especially because a lot of high-pollution rivers are the result of poverty (like no access to garbage collection systems). When that's not really the case- like, I would guess, with the river that the Ocean Cleanup services in LA- then it's great that the Interceptor is there to add a safety net.
Thank you.
thank you so much!
AMAZING LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH
I raise my litter pickers to you all. Y'arr !!! ❤
It is very important that you explain how the collected material is disposed of.
Each country has a different system but The Ocean Cleanup should have a blueprint for how to.
As much collected materials as possible should be recycled. Sticks, branches and leaves composted. And so forth.
Thank you so much ❤
Possibly your best video yet, good drone shots. Placement is critical with only getting a small slice of the river due to shipping traffic. Was it an educated guess at a bend? Or did you try different areas? Looks very calm and wide, I doubt there will be problems with rock and roll heavy flow rapids. Keep up the great work, I am still waiting for you to visit me here in the Philippines. Just installed trash Kaboom 008 on Bohol Island.
They use GPS to pick their areas.
ดีมากๆเลยครับ ขอชื่นชม
Fantastic work :-)
Big corporations should be required to donate on every continent to this project.
❤️❤️❤️❤️love this project
And please Stop using Plastic bags and Plastic bottles. Remove Trash is one Thing but avoid to make New Trash also very important. Khop khun kha mak 🙏🙏🙏 Love Thailand so much
Tell the corporations that make the stuff. Everything is wrapped in plastic or in plastic containers.
Thank you !!!
Would love to see this in The Philippines especially in the Pasig River.
Great job guys the planet needs people like you.
Great work.
gods work well done all
Algorithm boosting comment. I've actually noticed that most agriculture/food system based podcasts will often prioritize leaders of random food companies and nonprofit organizations instead of small-scale farmers, fisherman and workers. What's your opinion on that Ocean Cleanup?
The Ocean Cleanup is neither a food company nor a group of farmers. Nor is it a podcast. What's your point?
A Thai Interceptor! Noice! 👍😉
I have been following TOC for a long time, and I am very happy with the way TOC is addressing plastic pollution. 4:56 However, I am wondering why Coca-Cola, a major plastic polluter, is also sponsoring the project.
Great
I have never thrown any trash into a river, lake, brook or the sea. I don't understand why people do this. Ocean cleanup and the interceptor are great projects/inventions but taking away the polluters trash = cleaning after them is definitely not solving the problem(s). Maybe even on the contrary!?
You guys should go to India they have a cesspool of plastic in the water
If I ever get rich, I would want to donate a interceptor to a polluted river somewhere. How much does one cost? like 2 million? bruhhhhh
Great. Is it all operated by it's Solar panels? or Interceptor uses a generator as well?
Build Incinerators and produce hydro
Dope.👍🏻
Please do the nile river in Egypt
They don't reply here. You have to email them on their website.
Maybe the video just doesn't show the scale of what they are collecting but the glance we got didn't show that much trash at all, relative to the amount of money that looks to have been spent on the project. I've picked more trash up from beaches in an hour between 5 people.
Is this financially viable?
it's a wonderful solution for plastic clean up, but, until you can teach people not to throw their crap into the river..... you have not solved the problem
