The classic Revenge of the Sith clone pilots are actually somewhat based on concept art for V Wing Pilots that ended up never being used for episode 3. The Idea was that V Wings don't have life support systems much like TIE Fighters so these type of clone pilots would have required Fully Compresed and facecovered pilot helmets much like your standard TIE pilot helmet. The 2014 V Wing and even the 2010 Palpatine's Shuttle sets have the same type of clone pilot design that the original minifigure was meant to be based on, albeit executed much better since they use the proper revenge of the sith clone pilot helmet design.
I do love the original clone pilot. The different mouth shape along with the sand blue arms and legs is just super tight, even if it’s not movie accurate

Is it not obvious? They make the helmet look really fat and warp the printing. Also it makes the rangefinder comically high up on the helmet, even Lego thought they given they portrayed it in the right place on one of their boxes
@@omarbaba9892The holes on helmets allow me to customize the troops with rangefinders and antennae. Same reason I’m so against dual molded heads right now, where the figures come with hair under their hats and can’t be separated. I want to be able to build my own figures. Don’t always need the brown hair of Indiana Jones attached to the fedora if I simply want the hat attached to a different figure. Comes down to customizability.

I think You should be more consistent with your Ranking. I get it that 40+ clones are all 8/10 and higher. But putting Phase 1 Fox below standard Phase 2 clone & 501st specialist (just because of the binoculars and not even mentioning the Clone print itself) doesn't make any sense to me. I own Fox since i was a kid and Yeah maybe it's nostalgia bias but i'm trying to see it from another perspective. I know it's subjective But you talk about What does look good and accuracy. For anyone wondering how to fix Five’s pauldron, use an old plastic one to keep it down “Oh but Mr101, not everyone has an old plastic pauldron” Buy one. Or buy a fake one. If you just want to form it easily, buy one “Oh but mr101, I don’t have money” Use 2 backpack pieces stacked opposite to each other to hold it down for a couple days. It wont be as good, but it’ll work.

I’ve always wanted a 501st Jet Trooper like the one from 2005 Battlefront II. The green visor contrasts the blue and grey of the helmet in a perfect way. The jetpack is also kind of metallic and the torso has suspenders attached to the belt. The dude looks hard asf.

I've spent two months giving half-glances at my LEGO clones, not really understanding the helmet holes debacle. I have a mix of those with and without the helmet holes, so I guess I've just been glancing at the ones that don't have helmet holes. But now I see.

My highest is phase 2 Commander Gree (I have the version where the stripe on his leg is grey.) Another thing is even if you set the label of the clone wars style 212th trooper aside, yes it is the closest thing we got to a 327th star corps trooper, but even if it was a 327th trooper, it has the wrong markings, and if you consider it a 212th trooper, it has the wrong color, so it is kind of a lose-lose situation for the clone wars 212th trooper so I would rank it lower.
If ANYTHING, the 212th geonosis ariborne trooper deserves a top 10 spot, thats a W take having him at 11, not controversial at all imo. And anyone who thinks a trooper with fkn HIP printing doesnt deserve a top 15 spot is trippin.
I always get the 2011 troopers and use the torso and legs on the troop its supposed to be on as well as Bricklinked torsos and legs for the arf troopers cause they look good that way
So many Great memories of Playing with My Star Wars Lego, many Clone Troopers here that I had, I think Star Wars was so awesome to me compared to other better movies that i prefer such as The Dark Knight or Lord of the Rings, because it felt like there were neverending possibilities for my imagination as a kid. I think that is why The Clone Wars is the best Star Wars property because it went into a more granular exploration of a major war that happened between 2 movies.

I think the new Phase 2 clone helmet just doesn't look that great compared to the more movie accurate 2014 version. To me, the clones look way better in the films than in the show, and while I think mixing the 2 designs works in some cases, LEGO have kind of screwed it all up. The 212th troopers just look so weird compared to decade old versions. Damn... it has been a whole decade since LEGO made those designs. One change I do approve of is the fact that LEGO finally got the clone skin tone correct when for years they have just been using the 'standard' flesh tone, which, for obvious reasons, doesn't really fit the clones. I always found it weird that they gave pretty much every trooper the exact same face and it was pretty boring honestly, glad that they have changed that. I hope that at some point they make a new helmet for the Phase 1 clone pilot, because they have a slightly different helmet that regular Phase 1 troopers and I don't really see why it would be difficult for LEGO to do since all they'd need to do is take off the fin of the Phase 1 helmet.

The 212th troopers just look so weird compared to decade old versions. Damn... it has been a whole decade since LEGO made those designs.
One change I do approve of is the fact that LEGO finally got the clone skin tone correct when for years they have just been using the 'standard' flesh tone, which, for obvious reasons, doesn't really fit the clones. I always found it weird that they gave pretty much every trooper the exact same face and it was pretty boring honestly, glad that they have changed that.
I hope that at some point they make a new helmet for the Phase 1 clone pilot, because they have a slightly different helmet that regular Phase 1 troopers and I don't really see why it would be difficult for LEGO to do since all they'd need to do is take off the fin of the Phase 1 helmet.

the leg flaw of the arc trooper happens to fit seamlessly with the collor palette of the clone, it literally looks worse when its fixed to all white

I don’t have problem that P2 Clones that has helmet holes since 2022 because the ones I like is P2 Rex from the UCS Venator, Shock Troopers, P2 & regular plain P2 Clones that came out this year of 2024. People in the LEGO community needs to stop complaining about it, if you don’t like it, DON’T BUT IT since you’re gonna complain about it but other than that, just have fun with LEGOs that a lot of people like.

I think Lego purposely made a really bad P2 Commander Fox figure because the designer hated Fox because of his cold-blooded murder of Fives and his general incompetence. The designer wanted Fox to get more hate and the designer is correct. BUT HEY, THATS JUST A THEORY. A CONSPIRACY THEORY!!
