So true. I'm one of those 'pet parents', they do fill some kind of void. I owned rats for years. Still do, but only 2... and once they're gone, I'm done. I can't deal with the heartbreak anymore, the vet costs, the cremation costs, the fancy food and toys. And should I even mention the stress when one of them is sick and I have to rush them to the vet at 1AM and pay I dunno how much money.... (although I'll always be grateful to the vets who get out of their beds for a rat) I'm going to do something else to fill that void.

pets are great for loneliness, it's those extremes you garra watch out for, I had the same experience with a few cats along the way I know how it feels and at some point I just stopped adopting that responsibility. thank you so much for the feedback. I hope you enjoyed.

Sometimes its not about the money we spend.
With a handful of dollars i bought fabric and ribbons and thread, and sewed a cute ruffled diaper for my sick pigeon. She loved it so much she nestled her beak into it and cuddled with the ruffles.
My moms dog, Elliott, will sniff out his special Christmas sweater during christmas time and bring it to my parents for them to put on, he gets excited to wear a goofy sweater with the rest of us.
They do at least grasp that we are including them in our tribe by experiencing all these irrational things.
    And they are often grateful!

Eh... humans have always adorned their pets with some sort of jewels. Humans love nothing if not symbolism, and honestly sometimes people like seeing a dog in a jacket. I get some of what you're saying in the emotional side, people do use pets as emotional crutches and stability, that's part of the reason we still keep them far beyond their worth to us, dogs and horses are still around for purely companion reasons, and for some species why we keep them at all when they're no use to us, so you could just be talking about pet ownership in itself and not really the anthropomorphization of it.

thank you so much for the feedback, so appreciated. all in all pets are great ! i always had a dew cats even now. i was just trying to signal some few extreme cases, i don't know i guess it still seems ridiculous for me, a dog in a vest that is. thank you so much for watching.

@@BrainBoostPsychology-os1cd No worries! I definitely agree there are extreme cases,. Sometimes people don't realize that not treating an animal like the animal that it is isn't kind, it's confusing and causes problems.
