Mazhar ve Fuat - Adımız Miskindir Bizim (1973) (English Subtitles)
- First teamed up in the band, named Kaygısızlar, Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner then founded Mazhar ve Fuat, and released their first album Türküz Türkü Çığırırız in 1971. This folk-rock album included songs based on folk poems as well as new songs mostly composed by Mazhar Alanson. Adımız Miskindir Bizim, a track from their first album, was covered by American rapper Action Bronson in 2014. Inspiring from the song’s Anatolian rock sound, the rapper created a new song named Easy Rider. Lyrics of the song belongs to legendary poet Yunus Emre.

besteciye, söyleyene elbette selam olsun. Ama yazana da rahmet olsun. Yunus Emre, bin yıl önce öz Türkçe ile yazmış. hala anlıyoruz, dinliyoruz.
🙏🏻❤️

Mexican/American here enjoying your beautiful song!!
this is my favorite comment section in the entire Internet. Beautiful brotherhood/sisterhood of human family. This poem melts my heart, the music is pure love
The lyrics of the song come from 1240s from a sufi poet named Yunus Emre. In those years, long before enlightenment in Europe, the Anatolian land was thriving with humanist atmosphere with Turks, Greeks, Armenians, Jews trying to build that atmosphere. The lyrics reflect that air of peacefulness and friendship and no prejudice against each other. It goes saying, "we do not know what the hate is, all the world is the same for us"
blue sky? which blue sky real one or the walter white's meth
beautiful. thanks for sharing/translating!
Well said, hear hear.
That is so crazy. They were hippies before it was cool
Also this; Yunus Emre wrote this poem at time when Mongol invasion suffered world a lot. There were a lot of pain, blood and anarchy in Anatolia at that time. Also there were a huge migration movement. So all the Turks, Greeks, Armenians etc were tired of this shit and they were searching for peace and they wanted peace. Yunus Emre and others who similiar to him were just a reflection of these emotions. For an example; think about Pink Floyd and their songs, especially Goodbye Blue Sky. Its' expression is so similiar with this song. But not against the Mongols, it was against to WW2 and its destructions. So much emotions...

It's actually a poem of one of the most important poetries of Turkish literature, Yunus Emre. He was a "dervish" and lived a pure, simple and effective life of which its story is being told generations for almost one thousand year.

Song has a deep meaning since Yunus was also a Sufi mystic. Miskin simply means "mystic" in tasavvuf. Song is about "tawhid" which is unity in all creation. In some deeper meanings it can be understood as "there is nothing but God herself in the whole universe and even beyond". Love and light to you all :)
