Eddie(† 2020) and Alex Van Halen named the band. Both born in the mid 50's in Amsterdam. Eddie, the legend on his guitar, famous for his two hand tapping really left a lasting impression. He renewed rock music and and guitars technically. His brother was great on drums.
@@sjefhendrickx2257 Of course, but Jan isn't in the picture here though. Maybe he should look up the Dutch interview once of Jan and Eddie here in the Netherlands. They were so proud of their Dutch ancestory.
@@sdwater1 You are right about that. The father of Eddie (and Alex) was Jan van Halen, who was also a musician (worked with Snip en Snap back in the day for example, and was populair in The Netherlands.) Their mother was from the former colony Dutch-Indies (Indonesia), Eugenia van Beers. It makes me wonder if they are related to (former) tv-host Beertje van Beers (her family is from Indonesia too, and van Beers is not a name that you hear much).
Great reaction 👏. There is only a few. Jimmy, sadly gone to soon. Stevie, greatest Rock Blues guitarist. But you just watched the greatest Rock and Roll guitar player that's ever lived! RIP Eddie.
Was married to a heavy metal guitarist who idolizes EVH for 15yrs…I’m a rhythm player, but I damn near know Eruption by heart from his warm-ups using this solo. Also…Snuff Cup! Dude developed a spit cup that doesn’t leak, holds cans in the bottom, has a skoal can opener down there too, and has a disposable liner in order to try to buy back his family farm.
Thanks to Eddie van Halen we had Dimebag Darrell. At Dimebag's funeral, one of Eddie's signature guitars (bumblebee) was placed in Dime's KISS casket by Eddie.
I saw Van Halen open for The Doobie Brothers back in the day. I had heard of VH but didn't know anything about them. Needless to say but they blew me away! Eddie throws his pick into the crowd because he doesn't need it when he is tapping the strings.
Thought you were gonna need a backhoe to pick your jaw up off the floor. Probably the most influential guitarist ever. Has spawned multiple generations of players going back to the late 70's, including myself. Though I'm not nearly as talented, his playing contributed to me picking up a guitar in the first place.
Stevie Ray Vaughn is still my favorite. You should see some of his videos playing behind his back. I've never seen someone at one with their instrument like that guy. Other guitar legends were amazed by him. Not only for having amazing friffs, but the flow of linking all the riffs together so fluidly. I saw an interview of Eric Clapton talking about it.
Born Dutch died American. RIP. You got many masterly gitarplayers and you have people like EvH, SRV and TinaS, next level on the strings, or rather the strings are part of them……..
I've typed it before and I'll type it again "This is NOT Eddie's BEST solo" . There's MANY others on RUclips . Search and enjoy . I love Ed's US FESTIVAL solo way better .
this was 1986, i saw 81' & 82' concerts, this was always done in the middle of the show, all based on Eruption the song with add ons and each one was a little different than the next - just Eddie showing what He could make a guitar do, Awesome - RIP...
I don't think there is anyone better than Eddie Van Halen! Fabulous reaction!
Often imitated, but never duplicated, Mr. Edward Van Halen. He was truly one of a kind.
He is the king for sure
Goddamn he is AWESOME❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤😂❤❤
The true guitar God King Edward!!!!
I was there for both nights of this show. The crowd was 12k people.

R.I.P. Edward van Halen, the Dutch master
Eddie van Halen... that's some Dutch pride right there! Went from us too soon but will never be forgotten. 👏
And do not forget his brother, jan

Great reaction! He Was The MAN! RIP Eddie!
In my opinion there were two guitarist who changed the whole guitar playing world.. Jimi and Eddie.
You can make the argument that Chuck Berry brought guitar to the mainstream, but you're spot on about Jimi and Eddie.
@@LinkRocks I agree with that.
Eddie was so damn good. 🔥🔥
Great reaction 👏. There is only a few. Jimmy, sadly gone to soon. Stevie, greatest Rock Blues guitarist. But you just watched the greatest Rock and Roll guitar player that's ever lived! RIP Eddie.
Thought I was the only one who noticed all the guitar picks tapped to the guitar
The Master… The Innovator… Sleep peacefully King Edward

One of the greatest guitarist ever, if you ever watch the next song, he starts breaking strings and has to change guitars
