About Tale of the Nine-Tailed (구미호뎐):
History is littered with the tales of the nine-tailed fox, a legendary creature who seduces the innocent in order to satisfy their craving for human flesh. Though there are few in this modern age who believe in the ghost stories of the past, there are some, like Nam Ji Ah (Jo Bo Ah), who are convinced the legends of old are full of more facts than fiction. Determined to prove to the world that the monsters that lurk in urban myths and ancient legends are, in fact, real, Ji Ah has plied her talent as a television producer to create a show that does just that. With an iron will and nerves of steel, Ji Ah hunts down the weird, unusual, and sometimes dangerous subject matter to showcase on her program.
During one such pursuit, Ji Ah comes across Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook), an irresistibly handsome and incredibly intelligent man who is so well put together that he seems too good to be true. Convinced there’s more to this man than meets the eye, Ji Ah keeps a close watch on him, but the more she observes him, the more convinced she becomes that he’s just like every other man in the world, cold and heartless. If only she knew the truth!
A nine-tailed fox who has only recently settled in the city, Lee Yeon has wrecked more than a little havoc since his arrival, as he has a penchant for cleansing human spirits. Fully aware that Ji Ah is tracking him, he does little to arouse her suspicion; but when his blood-thirsty step-brother, Lee Rang (Kim Bum) shows up, things get a bit more complicated. Will Lee Yeon be able to save both himself and Ji Ah from the wrath of his vengeful brother?

Scenes like this one will always make me wonder why everyone hates Jo Bo Ahs acting because her range is truly phenomenal! Her transitions from Imugi to Ji Ah then Ji Ah back to Imugi I absolutely love it. I cant wait for her to return in S3! Cant wait to see her & Yeon as a family!

I love this show so much and Lee Yeon is my most favourite character ever. Also Ji-Ah is an amazing female lead and their pairing is perfect.❤
Though Yeon for sure deserves special consideration and recognition because:-
God he’s such a great protagonist, he is smart, he is bold, he doesn’t whine no matter how screwed up the situation is, he actually tries to take the best route for everyone where no one has to sacrifice anything instead of just giving up on his life as a sacrifice like most protagonists do and yet at the same time he doesn’t flinch from the possibility of sacrificing himself if need be. He is brave, he is loving, caring and adorable. He is sometimes cold, always beautiful, elegant yet deadly and ridiculously strong. He doesn’t loose hope, he is a great lord, son, lover and brother. He is forgiving and kind. He doesn’t make excuses, he solves everyone’s problems without complaining. He isn’t the best at dealing with emotions but he tries still even though he’s a pure gumiho and not a human. He is funny, witty and sarcastic. He makes everyone fall in love with him.
In this show people from the villain side(Imoogi, rang, traitor, Yu ri etc) try to villainise him all the time. Falsely accuse him and question his intentions. Because the plot wants you to be suspicious of everyone and everything. But then you remember the most critical advice from Nam Ji-Ah ‘Trust in Yeon’ and once you do that, everything falls in place.
This just shows how well written Yeon is because the entire plot and the characters revolve around him. He’s the focal point and the fact that this diverse and complex plot can run so smoothly entirely depends upon how good Yeon is and how well he is played.
Yeon is the oil that runs this engine(show) without him everything will shut down. He is the one who interconnects everything. He is the reason this show is soo good.
I have never seen such a great protagonist in any K drama ever tbh.
Kudos to Lee Dong Wook for playing this complex character to perfection. He really is one the best Korean actors undoubtedly.

This show, damn. It really did all the tropes and their modifications exactly right. I can’t get over how perfect this show was for me. Honestly one of the best K Drama’s ever, I will never stop loving them.
Both the main characters and their stories leave such a deep impression on you. It’s just amazing. ❤
I know Ji Ah is not there in season 2 and while I’m a little disappointed about it. I do totally understand why it was necessary because putting her in would mess with the effect season 1 & it’s story had on people. They had to change it for that sake.
They achieved the perfect ending so the only way the show can go further, is through the past. But because of that Ji Ah can’t be there anymore unless she’s there as Ah eum. Because if she was then the question would arise why could they not get a happy ending in that era instead & what not.
So I get it why she isn’t in season 2 but hopefully she’ll get to appear in season 3 when we’ll go deepest into Yeon’s past.
Either way I can’t wait for season 2. So come soon TotNT 1938, I’m waiting for you ❤😉

I searched for same doubt and I found that he gave fox beed to her out of love and until this moment she always saw him as good friend but now cried for him out of love and that's why the fox beed showed up

Can someone explain to me why he couldn’t see her mark he gave her, letting him know that she was the one he has been looking for until her tears touched him?🤔
This is just my assumption, the orb is a token of his love basically. So he wasnt able to sense it because they werent in love yet. But during this scene you can see her genuine feelings coming out and showing her love and care for him.
Again..just my assumption, it could possiblity be wrong. But if anyone do know the correct answer. Let me know🤷♀️

OMG, WHY I CRYING?
This is my favourite K-Drama. The music gives me goosebumps. It’s just so beautiful. This is my fave scene in the series. It’s just so beautiful with the music and Lee Yeon’s words too. He literally went through hell to save her and got there just in time to rescue her. God I love this series so much. Their romance is my absolute favourite out of all the K-Dramas that I’ve seen. Absolutely stunning
