Exactly. A true idol, at least to me personally. Of course his kindness and genuine personality are nice but his strong passion for what he does is a true inspiration. I think it's such a smart move to choose Shownu to sing a song for the OST. Not only does Shownu have a beautiful voice, but his participation in the OST attracts the attention of international Monsta X / K-pop fans like me. I didn't know this drama existed, but thanks to Shownu I'm going to check it out now. I hope other K-dramas take note and include Shownu and the other members of Monsta X on their OSTs. It's a win-win situation for all involved, IMO.
The drama is interesting but gets a little creepy at times for me! The song is played at the end of ep4 and also comes on in thebackground in ep5, i think within the first 15mins

The whole time I’m just going “THATS MY BOY YALL” :”) Whether the world is gonna eventually realise it or not, Shownu is an amazing, talented vocalist. He is a true singer. He has my favourite voice in all of kpop rn. And him doing this is a BIG win for me.

Reading all the comments about how people are surprised that Shownu can sing like that, I feel both sad and happy. Sad that his singing talent was basically hidden away but happy that at least now he is able to showcase it. Hopefully he gets more opportunities to do so in the future.
For me Shownu's voice is not a surprise. More surprise for me were Wonho and Minhyuk's voices in UR and Wonho in Lost in the dream, Hyungwon in Interstellar and IM in fighter switch part ver. MX all have good voices but not everyone has good apportunity to show them. And only stans who look much closer can notice that. I think that was one of "the reasons" Wonho prefer to leave. Sad that Starship intertainment got it only now, and started giving MX more freedom.

And please listen to other Monsta X songs like U R, Underwater, Lost in a Dream, Beautiful, Misbehave and Mirror. These are mainly ballads. I know Monsta X is known for more energetic songs but they have lots of ballads as their B sides and their voices really shine there

Tbh, I don't know anything about the singer or the group the singer was in but his voice captivated me the first time I heard it from the drama. There's something in his voice that I can't exactly pinpoint and I'm loving it.

I think it's such a smart move to choose Shownu to sing a song for the OST. Not only does Shownu have a beautiful voice, but his participation in the OST attracts the attention of international Monsta X / K-pop fans like me. I didn't know this drama existed, but thanks to Shownu I'm going to check it out now.
I hope other K-dramas take note and include Shownu and the other members of Monsta X on their OSTs. It's a win-win situation for all involved, IMO.

The drama is interesting but gets a little creepy at times for me! The song is played at the end of ep4 and also comes on in thebackground in ep5, i think within the first 15mins
shownu is such a hidden gem and i'm so happy for him that he's doing a different style to what we hear from him in monsta x. his range is outstanding.

Whether the world is gonna eventually realise it or not, Shownu is an amazing, talented vocalist. He is a true singer. He has my favourite voice in all of kpop rn. And him doing this is a BIG win for me.
His voice is indeed really amazing. I loved his cover of 'All of Me' in No Mercy. And especially cuz dat song has been my fav. And he sang that before debut. He has awesome talent and potential. ❤

Reading all the comments about how people are surprised that Shownu can sing like that, I feel both sad and happy. Sad that his singing talent was basically hidden away but happy that at least now he is able to showcase it. Hopefully he gets more opportunities to do so in the future.
For me Shownu's voice is not a surprise. More surprise for me were Wonho and Minhyuk's voices in UR and Wonho in Lost in the dream, Hyungwon in Interstellar and IM in fighter switch part ver. MX all have good voices but not everyone has good apportunity to show them. And only stans who look much closer can notice that.
I think that was one of "the reasons" Wonho prefer to leave. Sad that Starship intertainment got it only now, and started giving MX more freedom.
@@leozackdestron1574 I'm not talking about fans though. I'd hope that fans listen to their music enough to be familiar with their vocal abilities. I was referring to non fan comments where they think that Shownu is the guy they see often in variety shows. I would love for all of them to get more opportunities to show off their artistry. But the reality is these opportunities will only come if the company thinks that it will bring in the profits

Just that they do not know that he sang (the korean comments especially talk about having seen him on tv but having no idea that he sang) which says alot about how he has been marketed/promoted. In any event this is good exposure for him and the rest of the group as well. Hopefully more ppl will get interested and check out their music.

These are mainly ballads. I know Monsta X is known for more energetic songs but they have lots of ballads as their B sides and their voices really shine there

Tbh, I don't know anything about the singer or the group the singer was in but his voice captivated me the first time I heard it from the drama. There's something in his voice that I can't exactly pinpoint and I'm loving it.

Shownu MONSTA X needs to sing more OST, I really like his voice and the way he sings this song, I really feel the emotion of the lead character through his voice! I see MONSTA X members are busy with solo projects before the comeback (Nov 2, 2020), that's actually really good, I can't wait for their new album.
