Dont know if i have said this funfact about Morten, but he actually cant stand hearing his own voice. So when he can,he completely avoids it. Who would have known right? With so many millions of people loving his voice both talking and singing. It says alot of his personality too,he is not that over confident as most people think vocalists in bands are. They are also far more supportive towards other bands and artists then media for the longest thought. Morten has sworn to healthy diets and such for some decades already, even when eating bread he swears to spelled bread. So you are right about him maintaining his voice as best as possible. And of course he has always been active,as you can tell by some of the more revealing videos of A-ha,he also works out. So the aging process hasnt taken too much of a toll on his voice, but of course his stamina has decreased with time, and the power as well. That is simply just life happening. I do wish they got acknowledged more out in the world as a band, they had theyr ups and downs within the band, but they always stuck together even when the seas got abit rough. Original band lineup for 41 years this years and counting, and the funny thing is,Paal and Magne already had a band in mind before they agreed on that they needed a lead vocalist,so abit longer then 41 years already. But just give that some thought, there arent many bands with original members out there that has sticked together for 41 years time and still are active. I feel like if A-ha had been founded in the US,Canada or other bigger European countries, they would have been appreciated alot more, with bigger words by more people then they are today. Just the level of musicianship that all possesses in the band. They found something truly magical together, noone has a sound like they do. And theyr lead vocalist is in the friggin Guinness World Of Records! I feel like alot of songs that are on theyr albums, that doesnt even have any official music video is just as good as theyr "hits". And i cant say that about too many bands out there, some songs are simply made for "album fill". EDIT: Made my day to hear that you have been checking out interviews with them, and that you have gotten such a hugely positive impression of Mags. He is truly like that, might have been born in the city life, but he prefers the countryside with plenty of nature, where he can find inspiration for his artworks, and just process his thoughts etc. Mags is amazing, and now you know why he is my favourite lol.
Butterfly 🦋 was intended to be their last ever release, hence why they hug together and fly off as butterfly’s in different directions. I got to see the live in London 2009, incredible night 😊. Early Morning is about Lee Harvey Oswald apparantley
Not to disagree with you here, but Ihave never seen anything connecting Early morning to him.. the song supposedly is about waiting the whole night for someone, who didnt show up. Ending in suicide by the one being rejected.
@@zfanc555 Whoa !! That's actually worse !!! Either way it's not where i went with the song at all. Either way it's good info about the song even if it's about a bad story.
Listened to a few recent interviews - True North does accompany a film (about Norway) - it was supposed to be a few tracks (Magne worked with Stian Andersen on this - it was project that was thought up during covid times) - but then it ended up being an album. I think one of them mentioned that it was a concept album (vinyl, cd, movie, visuals from Norway etc.) - recorded (live) in Bodo in Norway with the Arctic Philharmonic - and produced by themselves (which was new). We know they always try new things... 😉. Thanks for the reviews - so much more to go!!
If you want to have a laugh btw, this is considered Norways most known standup comedian, wich also does tons of parodies of people he is a fan of. He calls it parodies, but i feel like he comes scarily close on alot of them. Morten Harket is considered one of his best ones, the way he has memorized Mortens mannerisms, foot stance and also how he adds abit extra for comedic purposes: Kristian Valen - Duet with A-ha 😆
I think he was funny years ago, not so much now, but he is good at doing Morten and morten did participate in the parodie, shows that he can laught at him self, I love that.
Slander frame...❤ There's never a forever thing...❤ Memorial Beach...❤ This alone is love...❤ Thought that it was you...❤ So many songs... a-ha is amazing...❤🇳🇴🇧🇷💙
You have to love Magne. He is such a sweet person. The other two are probably more complicated. Thomas Robsahm, who directed "A-ha the movie" says all three of them are nice when you get them on their own. They are three strong personalities who have problems cooperating with each other. Wonderful songs, all of these. According to an interview on Norwegian radio when he released his own songs, "Early Morning" is Pauls sons favorite from a-ha. His name is True August, and his music is worth checking up. He received very good reviews from Norwegian music journalists. It is difficult to point to favorite songs with a-ha, the quality of their music is so high that there is little difference in that respect. When I consider "Stay on these roads" my all time favorite from a-ha, and "True North" my favorite from the latest album, it is based on how both the songs affects me emotionally. Suggestions for the next video are "Foot of the mountain", "Cast in Steel", "I've been losing you" and "Between the Halo and the Horn".
They got Steve Barron (who directed Take On Me and their other early videos) back for Butterfly to tie things up...gorgeous song and they do a really nice stripped down live version in Ending On A High Note. Love your videos - thank you!
I always thought how interesting the video for the Butterfly, Butterfly was in regards of them splitting up after that. I mean they returned and that's good for us. But also for them. Seems like they can't stay apart for too long, because together they are strong. Apart not so much. Also, True North sounds similar to Stay on these roads to me.
A song that I really like from A-ha is Celice which I believe it is from year 2004 or 05, in case you would like to react to it, my friend. Greetings :)
I would love to see your reaction on these: - Lifelines, the MTV Unplugged version from 2017 (ruclips.net/video/GxgFPLl7eE4/видео.html). Saw them perform this version in concert and it took my breath away! - There's Never A Forever Thing (never played in concert, there's a story behind it) - Slender Frame (one of my personal favourites) These are treasure chests, for the soul to soar with Morten's vocals and the beautiful lyrics. It's nice to watch your videos and listen along with someone who apprehends the full value of this otherworldly band 🕊
Hi, thanks for more A-HA. My internet went down so I couldn’t comment on this yesterday. I love butterfly, butterfly I think it’s so sad it was meant to be their last ever song and we they hug each other that gets me every time. It means their putting their past dislike of one another away and moving on plus I love all the throw backs to take on me etc this video was made by Steve Barron who made all the A-HA videos shown in this one. Early morning is a great track too. A-HA have never made a bad track. Early morning is from the east of the sun , west of the moon album before butterfly. I’m not a big fan of the true north album and I’m probably in the minority being an A-HA fan but I do like As if, between the halo and the horn, true north and I’m in are my faves from it. Morten is 63 years old then. Pal is 61 and Magne is 60 years of age and they still have it. Take care, stay safe and I’ll catch you on the next one. 😘 ❤️🇳🇴❤️ A-HA FOREVER ❤️🇳🇴❤️ 🎸🎹🎤🥁 🥇🥇🥇

Butterfly, Butterfly is far better, IMO, in the live version from their 2010 tour. It's an exquisite song without the pounding rhythm and distracting synth. It's almost a different song.
I'm old and grumpy, but a-ha is a band that keeps on giving. Best wishes 👻

The 'True North' songs are indeed accompanying a film called 'True North' - made especially for this album. ;)
True north has 12 tracks, magne wrote 6 and Paul 6, they both produced their own songs

You should listen to " Living a Boy's Adventure Tales ". Love them ! It's from the 1st album, " Hunting High and Low".
I remember watching Early Morning after a USA-specific drought of their music for a few years and being devastated spotting the wedding ring.
