Totally agree, sponsorship isn’t the main issue. After studying at the University of Edinburgh, I had a job in Zone 1, London, but couldn’t save anything. Moving to Zones 3 or 4 felt like living in a small village that shuts down by 7 PM, and the quality of life dropped. Even after a promotion, the salary wasn’t great. Now, I’ve moved to Bengaluru, and while my salary is lower, I’m working in a field I enjoy, watching movies at PVR, and experiencing much less stress. The work-from-home benefits are the same, but the quality of life, food, and the speed at which things happen are much better. Plus, I have more friends from work. Places like the UK, Canada, and Australia are starting to feel like legacy cities.

You have realized this faster than any others. Bangalore and other Metros in India are most advanced now. Only traffic is worrisome. Food, Culture and other things are very good in India now. Home is always better than other countries.

The quality of life or the way of living the way of seeing the life in numerous aspects are much much better and of higher quality in Europe and UK that none of the cities of India or such third world country can ever even come close to. Someone who has spent a good amount of time in Western European and British culture/country can only understand the essence of it. Living in BLR that is polluted and stuffed with traffic and useless people and watching PVR isn’t a life. Also it’s a misinformation that places outside zone 1/2 in London closes at 7 pm because they are not. Everything has late evening engagements or night life. Probably you didn’t explore them. A very small example is - Supermarkets leisure centres for swimming or sports clubs or yoga gyms or entertainment facilities restaurants clubs pubs and night clubs endless lists I can say work as usual until late night or late evening. If anything is closed by 5/6 pm during weekend because every single person has a life and values for their life so they do need to stop working and enjoy the life unlike India where majority of people don’t have any value of their life and they just keep working or forced to keep working.

@@paramadey2864 It’s amusing how you've decided that the quality of life in Europe and the UK is superior. The reality is, "quality of life" depends entirely on how you define it. I wasn’t referring to clean air or water-I was talking about affordability. Even when I worked for one of the largest French insurance companies in London as a claims handler, despite being promoted, I could barely afford to travel, eat out, or enjoy much of life. Comparing a diverse democracy of 1.4 billion people to a country of less than 9 million built on Roman foundations? Now, that’s some common sense.
Sure, every country has its issues, but reducing India to traffic and pollution? That’s not a perspective-it’s ignorance. When you talk about the "essence" of a place, what essence are you even referring to-the drug culture, healthcare, or strong family values that shape day-to-day life? My understanding of hunger, homelessness, and poverty didn’t come from visiting Dharavi in Mumbai; it came from seeing council housing in Whitechapel.
It’s funny how you think traveling through the West gives you deep insight into its essence and values. As a visitor, do you really think you’ve got it all figured out? To truly appreciate the depth of India’s culture, you’d need to understand its rich history, diversity, and values. And yes, Bangalore has congestion issues, but let’s not pretend London hasn’t been ranked as one of the most congested cities in the world too.
Calling people "useless" doesn’t make you insightful; it exposes your prejudice and frankly reeks of racism. Every person contributes something meaningful, regardless of where they’re from. You mentioned nightlife in London, but let’s not act like everything stays open late. Outside of the central areas, many places shut down early-my leisure center closed at 8 p.m. every weekend. Plus, activities in India are often far more affordable and accessible for families, while many Europeans feel priced out of their own cities.
And when you talk about "having a life"-working hard doesn’t mean someone doesn’t value their life. The family-oriented culture in India, where time with loved ones is cherished, is something many in the West could learn from. Maybe next time, instead of trying to tear down a country, focus on seeing the positives, understand the context, pretext and then comment

While it may sound harsh, this reflects a critical reality for many graduates today. Finding a stable job that aligns with one's qualifications is increasingly challenging. Many students who have completed their courses are struggling to secure employment, even with graduate visas, leaving them without the means to sustain themselves. This issue affects proactive and skilled individuals also who possess strong evidence of their work in the UK. As someone who works at the university, I have witnessed this firsthand. I consider myself fortunate to have secured employment after completing my master’s with distinction, especially given my over two decades of experience and strong academic qualifications. Unfortunately, many others share similar struggles. My husband got SWV fortunately at the beginning of our stay here otherwise it would have been difficult for me too.

Most Unversities in UK, USA, Canada, Australia can be commpared to Kota coaching fatcory. Both are selling dream and extractig money from Indian students or other country students. What you are telling is rule is same as from 2014 to 2020. It was only after brexit salary threshold was lowered and again it has been set similar to before 2020 level.
Anyway the most of the unversity in UK is nothing extraordinary. It is only Indian student are given free hand to ignore praticals and assignments in India so they do not learn skills required to perform job from day in employment. In UK they are forced do these task to get pass so they learn these skills and they termed it as exposure. They forget if they have attended practicals and solve assignment in India than they do not need so much to spend for this exposure. Even after this most of student will return without getting any sponsored jobs. It is good to take risk but also make back up plans what if you have to go back and find job in India. Also if you plan to work in academic field in India after MSc in UK than be careful as most government unversity in India do not recognise one year master from UK as complete master so you cannot apply where requirement is to have master degree.
Increase salary thresold is good for Indian who are coming through intra company transfer like from infosys, wipro as these comapnies have to give good salary to people they sending to work on project for few years in UK. It is bad news for students as they will find hard to get sponsor job.
Always do your own research. From last 15 years the situation has been similar and international student find hard to find job in UK except for few good reputated university students. After brexit the creation job rate is low in UK. Most of the food delivery driver on bike in UK like zomato in India look like is a international student in UK. Select your course carefuly so that if you do not get job in uk than atleast it should be helpful to get job in India. More than looking at living cost videos in UK look for syllabus in university course before going to UK. Two unversity offering mastering same course may have more than 50% different syllabus. So always looks for syllabus going to unversity website and looking into coursework for module.
UK university does not have placement like Indian unversity. Everything is off campus even if study from oxford. In my opinon it is good thing and India should ban on campus as it is discriminatory. Some may get offended how this is discriminatory and why someone will study for IIT if it is off campus. My answer is due to on campus the companies in India do not invest in recruitment process of freshers and they save money and many good student from non reputed colloge suffers due to this.

    Hello,
I found your channel recently and is very informative! I would like to hear your suggestion on the following the intricacy of mine, if you have some time for me: I'm postdoctoral researcher and had an ATAS rejected very recently ( I had to apply for skilled worker visa). Now, I've got another offer from a different UK university and am supposed to apply for ATAS certificate again. Within the span of about 2 months, I'm applying again. How , according to you, are my chances of getting hold of the same?
    -Thanks

True that. However, I must add that it's still very much achievable for freshers through the graduate programs offered by firms.
I myself switched to SWV directly from student visa this year (after the visa rules changed) in a non - London location, long before graduating. (Haven't had my convocation yet!)
So it's possible, but definitely requires some serious grind! 💪

Sumit you should ask this question to yourself. Just go and check the syllabus to find what subject you can choose and what you will learn in those courses or module. After this google the jobs listing both in India and UK with requirment of skills you will learn in these courses. Also look for salary of those jobs after few years, try to find after learning those skills can you perform on job from day one without any training or you own start your own work as a consultant.
