A short tourist cross country flight around Annecy

With a very late start to the day, a much lower base than forecast and storm clouds visible much earlier, my plans of a decent cross country flight were scrapped as soon as I took off and climbed away from launch.
However this resulted in a chilled out tourist flight around Lake Annecy with no pressure for a cross country flight. The conditions were bumpy at times with two inversion layers, the first at around 1700m and the second at around 2300m.
I can certainly see why there can be great cross country flights from Annecy, with so many obvious lines to fly down to start the cross country routes. Unfortunately by the time everything had started to work much more effectively the storm clouds were getting uncomfortably close, so I wasn't able to make use of the improving conditions and made my way swiftly to the landing site.
