Great video. One small update that would make a HUGE difference is if the battery % upon arrival was visible somewhere on the screens. Currently you have to go to Settings -> Trip Overview -> Details.
% upon arrival is way more useful than GOM.

Nice video. I see on your map screen that the guess o meter says 3.7 miles/kwh. Wow. That’s about 1 mile better than we’re seeing on our 2023 GT.
Today I did a quick experiment on energy usage with our MME GT. We’ve owned our 2023 GT since late October 2023 and now have just over 2900 miles. There is a town that is 39 mile trip for us and it’s 20 miles on an interstate and the rest on 55mph state highway with a few stoplights. We’ve done this trip enough times to expect 2.5 -2.7 miles/kWh under the following circumstances: cabin heat 68-70F, seat hears on for about 5 minutes, steering wheel heat on about 10 minutes, HVAC auto and with 1 bar of 3 illuminated, AC off, radio on, cruise control at speed limit +2, lane keeping assist/blue cruise on, and headlights in Auto.
Today we did the trip and I turned the lights to off and the car’s m/kwh computer showed 3.0 miles/kwh.
Temperatures and weather have varied but today was in the mix for a normal trip.
    That’s a huge consideration if planning a trip, that’s potentially a 10% range difference!
    Just looking for your experiences.

Thank you so much for this walkthrough of the in-car and Ford Pass app. I've only taken a handful of long road trips with the Mach-E. Planning with different apps helped a lot, but last summer I got burned by not paying close enough attention to the route plan. About twenty minutes out from a charging session I got the details that the navigation was sending me to a car dealership's Level 2 J1772 and a two hour charge session. This was in a sparsely populated area of West Virginia/Pennsylvania boarder, and it was way too late to reroute to a DC fast charger. I have learned to pay closer attention, but this guide will help a lot. Also, looking forward to the day when DC fast charger infrastructure is more significantly built out.

Thanks, I’ve been subscribed and watching your videos for a year now and always like it!… I finally received my Mach-e Select 3 weeks ago…. I’ll be taking my first (short) roadtrip next week. As much as I have all faith that it will go without problem, watching you guys gives me more confidence :) Can’t wait to see the tutorial with 3rd party app (Apple Maps, ABRP, plugshare). At least here in Quebec the Electric Circuit app seems to also have a good trip planning function.

Another great video! I used both Sync and Fordpass on a trip in our 2022 GT from Ft Collins, CO to Carlsbad, CA last summer and still learned a lot from your video. But this brings up a couple of questions. Is there a default setting to minimum charge level to arrive at a charging stop with? Does it estimate range based on profile setting of the driver? My wife drives faster than I do so she gets less range 🙂. Does Sync tell you what charge level to charge to when you arrive at the next charging stop?

It looked like the 2nd route was going up Highway 1. I'd take that, just for the scenery -even though it would take longer. I'm impressed with Ford's navigation system. It's got many more features than I'm used to with my Model 3. I'll be curious to see how these routes and details will change when you have a NACS adapter and can use Superchargers. Hope you're among the first guinea pigs to test that out in a couple of months!

Great How-To. I am confused by the fact that Ford Pass has all the latest chargers in my area and Sync has nothing that was added recently. How does the car pre-condituon under these circumstances? I have asked Ford but can't find anyone who understands anything out of their tiny silo.

Your app is different from the one I have in Canada. Don’t have the same settings. I’ve tried to change a charging stop on the FordPass app but it just adds a stop but not a charging stop, and it keeps the one that was supposed to be replaced. No way of setting the charge level of the car like yours.
Why is Ford giving out different versions of the app?

I really enjoy my Lightning but the charging suggestions on the route planner are absolute trash. It routes to known broken chargers and totally skips new DC chargers. I could literally be 20 miles from my destination with plenty of range and it’ll want to route me 40 miles out of the way to go charge. I pity the people that follow its advice that don’t know what they are doing! I was 4 miles from my house and it wanted me to go 13 miles out of the way to a L2!😂 So far to go Ford!

@@MachE_VLOG I enjoy y’all a lot BTW😁. I live in the Panhandle of Texas which is slowly building out infrastructure, but I should be able to set my house as my destination and get there with less than 10% without being ‘rerouted’. Would love to visit with Ford about it!
