Long live the 2012 L332 Autobiography. It had curves, it had depth, inside and out. Everything flowed like Lava even though it was Boxy. They will never ever make anything like the L332. The best thing about the L322 is the Revised Rear Bumper along with the front Upgraded Facia and side skirts. It Oozed Class.that was only on the 2012’s. Only 500 made and 50 Ultimate Edition Autobiography🤤😋. Then came the Semi Disaster next Gen Range Rover and Rover Sport and lost a bit of fan base to be fair. And now they’ve just completely butchered it.

Not a fan of the rear end. Looks too tall. Love every other exterior angle and interior though. It looks quality. Top notch coverage as usual by Carfection.

What happened to the rear end, did the designers run out of breath? it's basically a brick with the edges smoothened out, without bothering to add any detailing.
What’s up with RR using BMW engines? I thought they were going to utilize the Ingenium line to produce inline 6’s and such to avoid having to use other OEMs offerings.
@@ALMX5DP You said it yourself ingenium engines are V6’s. The contract with Ford for the supercharged V8 is finished & engine is retired. The previous generation Range Rover’s used to use BMW engines so using the V8 again for P530 & SVR.

First time that I like the standard model more than Sport. The design of the back is "too tall' and looks pretty strange... Everything else is really spectacular. Except the exorbitant price increase to account for any future inflation...
That 4.4 is a BMW engine isn't it? I'd love to see a review with the Sport and the X5 m50i, interesting what the similar engine means for the cars compared to each other.
I just looked it up - and you are right it is a BMW engine. All of a sudden that RR Sport V8 looks like an interesting buy. More reliable than RR engines with the best of British styling.

They stopped in 2006 and went on to the Jaguar 4.2 briefly. this is a newish partnership to developed engines and to make the electric power trains .We have a Bentley Arnage and Range Rover Vouge in the garage at the moment (two of a private collectors 35 cars ) and both have the BMW 4.4 V8 in them . I often just open the door of the Bentley just for the smell of the leather lol

I notice the exterior doesn't have the same gills behind the front wheels as the full Range Rover. It looks fine without them, but I suppose they help differentiate the full RR from the Sport.
Evolution. Once upon a time, those gills served a real purpose and then evolved into a styling motif. Like in biological evolution, all obvious traces will disappear over time.

bit of a drastic take, I think it's nice to explore different materials. Like Alcantara or the aforementioned forged carbon, its a bit different which helps differentiate it from the norm that is leather.

Am i the only one who thinks the old sport looked better? The rear on the new one looks really bad imo. The front is decent i guess but there is sth about that third vent below the license plate that's just bugging me and i am not sure why. The side view is fantastic though. EDIT: The more i look at the rear the less it bothers me but i still can't get over that third vent on the front EDIT 2: Forget the previous edit, i took a second look and the rear still bothers me quite a lot haha
Really interested to see how manufacturers like Land Rover differentiate between models like these when they go fully electric. At least in ICE guise, you can tell the difference (especially in the character of the engine and exhaust tune) When both the Range Rover and Sport have powerful, heavy battery packs, the only perceivable difference I suspect will be the size. They’ll both be quick and quiet. One just smaller than the other.
Polyurethane is hopelessly non-sustainable… you need to check the alternatives to leather and report accurately. Sure, leather is a CO2e problem, but the alternatives are a mixed-bag.
Plastic seats are now “sustainable’ 🤔 whereas, as long as humans eat beef, leather will always be a waste product. Not sure that woke equation really holds water 🤷🏻♂️ I am a massive JLR fan having had 2 x RR Vogues, 2 x RR Sport, 2 x Disco, a Disco Sport and Jag F-Pace…… but not sure about the overt “Americanisation” of rear styling, which apes the bland Lincoln / Cadillac SUV so favoured over here. Let’s see what it looks like in the flesh, but either way, yes, if it sells then it must be a good thing for the marque and U.K. trade surplus. 😁
I'm... very disappointed. I think it's a stylistic step back for the Sport. Doesn't look as sexy as a Velar, doesn't look as classy and elegant as the new Range Rover... it looks like a happy little accident involving a discovery sport and I'm not sure what
I can already see they’re still using the same shittastic plastic black external trim pieces that color fade in the sun. Just look at the roof antenna/wing mirror/D pillar of any Rangie older than 12 months old.

Only the V8 is a BMW engine the rest are their own Ingenium.

everyone's downsizing, the 5.0 wasn't super efficient anyways despite how much it was loved. The bmw 4.4 is relatively characterless unfortunately.

@@francis191 JLR V8's aren't really unreliable though, it's the diesel V6's which you stay away from. Also BMW V8's are extremely unreliable.
