Darling Barbara, let me tell you something. You might consider recording hours and hours more of these wonderful reminisces about your career or anything else you might want to expound on. We can’t get enough! You’re are that rare thing- a fascinator. Always was a fascinator and always will be a fascinator! From the early days in Gaslight Square here in St. Louis (where it is said you mercilessly plundered the thrift stores for the vintage wear that you’ve always worn to thrilling effect) to the present where you are amazingly still a vital presence. You can bet I am running, not walking to get the new release! And it goes without saying, that the mad enthrallment that I’ve forever had for your wild beauty and your wild talent has not abated. In fact, it is just as strong as it was in 1966 when I was a 13 year old gay boy who lost his heart when his older sister brought home one of your albums (the one that pictured you in that green halter dress). Yeah, it’s been all over for me for a very long time, brought down by Love’s arrow as I was, at such a tender age.. But you’ll never hear me complaining! Bewitchment. has it’s many many compensations.
What a wonderful personal tale. I think your calling her a FASCINATOR is one of the most apt things I have ever heard. It's certainly true for those like you and me who love her. And seemingly for her detractors, too. She has always been able to make me, personally, grateful and happy. Seeing her in 'the concert' in San Jose, California in 1994 was one of the highlights of my life...
richard fouts - And the tugboat in Funny Girl is number #24. lol I wonder of she asked the set designer to make that happen. I'm guessing she absolutely did!
Although the late-great Norman Gimbel translated many of Jobim's songs from Portuguese to English, Antigua was translated by Marshall Barer for Barbra. Related note: I had the pleasure of singing a dedication of Mr. Gimbel's own 'Killing Me Softly' to him at his grandson's wedding in San Francisco around 2013 or so. He came up to me and said it was the best version yet! I'm sure he was being polite but I thanked, of course.
Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last weeks :)
Oui Suuper !!!! Merci!!!
This is actually a great album, and it's unfortunate that it didn't sell very well. What could've been an uneven disaster is actually a very delightful, unusual listen, incorporating the "many" voices of Streisand. My faves are "Didn't We?" and "Mother and Child."
Streisand set very high standards for herself. She wasn’t always satisfied with her work - describing them as being “only good” - without realizing that her only-good stuff was better than almost everyone else’s great stuff.
Barbara Streisand please please could you do a duet with Andrea bosseli. This would be the most angelic close to singing with angel's.. I know that this kind of singing will bring some peace to the world. Love you both so much..❤️❤️
What a great interview and a great album too. One thing though, I think Barbra went a bit overboard with the blurred lenses in this video. She looks way too fuzzy.
JUST FOR THE RECORD EVERGREEN LOST INSIDE YOU FOR THE RECORD MOTHER AND CHILD WHAT MATTERS MOST IF IT'S MEANT TO BE FROM THE FANTASTIKS L-O-V-E ONE MORE LOOK AT TOU! I THINK IT'S GOING TO RAIN TODAY IS THAT WILLOW TREE STILL WEEPING?
I totally agree... It is apparently a new style of editing, which I can't stand - one moment the speaker is talking to you, then they cut to a second angle, showing the speaker talking . I always ask myself "who are they talking to? - I thought they were talking to me!" It's gimmicky and takes you out of the message of the video - but it is apparently in vogue now.
Could listen to her sharing stories and memories whole day long!

Brilliant evocation I fell in love at 12 when I saw Funny Girl in 1968 in Dublin and have stayed ever faithful since
I wish she would tape this kind of recollection for every damn album she ever recorded. The memories attached to the songs are so interesting.
It’s really wonderful to hear your recollections, Barbra. I love hearing all the backstories about these wonderful songs. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the teaching Ms. Streisand. I do admire you as a person. Especially your courage in making the film Yentl.
This is a fabulous CD one of my personal favorites.
I can't believe I am just hearing this. These songs are so totally gorgeous!
When I played "Being Good" on my CD player, which has a timer, Barbra comes in right at 0:24. Streisand nerds will get it ....
richard fouts - And the tugboat in Funny Girl is number #24. lol I wonder of she asked the set designer to make that happen. I'm guessing she absolutely did!
Her birthday is 24 th.
@@e.m.tanner179 and she had her son Jason when she was 24.
@Richard Fouts - And her birthday is 04/24/42.
For two is 24 backwards.
The tugboat being number 24 was a very pleasant accident for her.
Sure do.
❤ i love you Barbra! So always wonderful in every thing you do!
Love this explanation of the choices and songs - I love mother and child magnificent
thank you for sharing, and i love your voice, your voice sounds so pure and i believe is one of the voices i have heard.

Me too and I’ve got ALL her records!!

@Logan Thomas Definitely, have been using instaflixxer for months myself =)
Gosh, these songs sound really great. How come I never got this album? I'll have to get it now.
Fabulous. Lost In Wonderland is awesome. Simply Streisand should have been a double album! Barbra’s Willow Weep For Me is sublime.
My pleasure.. Glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent album!
This is one of my favorite albums.. But there are more unreleased songs.. "Barbra: Can you hear me?"
Iconic my favorite
There is some really great work on this album.
I love her voice. Such a special voice. No one like her. Like Adele. No one like her either. Both fantastic.
It's time for volume 2!
Where is Release Me 2?
Release Me 3? There are so many more tracks that need to air.
Release Me 2 is coming!
Release Me 2 is coming out tonight
@@TerryMarsh24 Indeed! Now we need #3....and hopefully not in 3 years. 😭
@@sushicourier The first Release Me album came out in 2012 and Release 2 has only come out. So we could be waiting awhile for Release Me 3
@@TerryMarsh24 Yes... Barbra works slowly...just like her autobiography. 🐌
You're welcome.
Yes, it was... And that's all you'd get - I was expecting more. But it is fun, and I enjoy sharing it.
Love this Album
Thank you so much!

So you're a Larry Gatlin fan as well? I LOVE his voice! I wonder how a duet between you both would have sounded...
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment.
NB "Lost in Wonderland" lyrics were written by Marshall Barer who also wrote lyrics for Once Upon a Matress.
I absolutely loved her n. kermits tune!!❤👏👏👏
THE RAINBOW SONG.
I LOVE KERMIT THE FROG AND I LOVE BARBARA AS WELL...💋💋💋😃😃😃
I have never heard of this until now. I have more than 50 of Barbra's CDs. One more coming soon. $2.30 after applying rewards.
I love her music even with OneNote that's bad I don't care 😘🌹 a big fan of yours my whole life ❣️

I love this album. Notice the spelling mistake at 1:21....
i love and respetct her

Ce n'est rien. C'est mon plaisir, content que tu tellement aimé notre séjour, merci pour votre commentaire.

i'd like her to release "I Like Him" - currently only a 45 single release :( i love that song!
Anyone know if Barbra ever made the dvd (My life in words and music) she mentioned in this video?
Thank You! Was this from the QVC dvd??? I wish I could've gotten that one :(
What a great interview and a great album too. One thing though, I think Barbra went a bit overboard with the blurred lenses in this video. She looks way too fuzzy.
she doesn't look fuzzy to me
Those "artsy" black-and-white cutaways were pretty silly.
❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
It's a great shame about what happened to Elliot Gould but Barbra likes to forget him.

I often wonder why she has never sung with Diana Ross ?
Why doesn't she speak out about now..she always works in politucs
She's is quite active on Twiiter
👍👍
What is with all of that crappy inserted black and white footage.
It doesn’t fit. It doesn’t belong.
It breaks the cohesiveness of this video

Enough is enough Barbra too much make-up, sorry
