It does count as lore. The problem is, this gets thrown into a comicbook, only fans read, while shitty, incoherent story gets a movie
It’s lore. It’s also cool to have a little “nerd insight” from reading the novels and comics that others do not. It makes it feel more personal. I fill that role in my family and it’s really the only thing I’m good for...but that’s another lore.

Unfortunately, people like us, people with true "nerd insight" are rare. Nowadays status of "nerd" is given to every second casual, and fanbases are filled with self-proclaimed nerds, that call themselves nerds, despite they never got deep into any lore.

I actually stopped reading the comics when Terex was enslaved, as I beleived that was the end of him. The comic is pretty good but Terex was remained one of the only reason I read. I guess now that I know he's not going to stay like that, I have to pick it up again!
I see a post credit scene for episode 9 ,when poe is retired and two gangsters walk up to him sayin: "Mr.Terex sends his regards"
For some reason, I'm just hoping they somehow make the Resistance use the old droid armies as a way to bolster their numbers in the upcoming films.
That sounds interesting. But the question is how outdated are those droids and finding working parts to keep them going on the battlefield without falling apart.
They could always try to find their abandoned factories and try to fix that. Then it would just be simply finding old parts to feed the factory. Finn and Rose demonstrated knowledge about ships, so they could have some engineering prowess to fix said factories.
Another issue is how to make the droids stable for the Resistance so that their image isn't tainted.
That another questionable thing in the 50 year timeline why hasn't any other person start using battle droids in the Empire era or make their own clone army on another planet?
Well I can imagine it's due to the fact you need a huge facility to make droids/clones, which are either torn down, monitored by the Republic/First Order, or forgotten, or have become unfavorable due to effectiveness/personal gripes.
However, the Resistance has very little to go on now, so maybe a lil desperation may kick in?
I wouldn't get your hopes up. While J.J. is a good director for the most part, he really doesn't like the prequel trilogy and doesn't want anything to do with it. It's ironic because the guy has such an active imagination.
Never thought that a random Stormtrooper had the potential to be such a badass. Makes you wonder about all the other Stormtroopers that get gunned down by the thousands.
Okay that guy is hands down better than any of the villains Disney has created for the new trilogy. My new favorite stormtrooper.

That Tie AT-AT was the most hilarious thing I've seen out of Star Wars ever. I couldn't stop laughing for like 5 minutes over it just because of how funny of a concept that is. I imagined it in mass production and lost my shit.

Funny. How can comics do a better story than Disney ever could with any of the movies? I mean this guy is far more terrifying and even far more deadly of a foe than anything the First Order had. I mean seriously. This man bashed himself with a Stun Baton trying to override a Slave Chip Implant to his brain. That is fucking metal. Even Lord Vader would have approved. As Vader would have disapproved of enslaving any race.

Maul is a beast to be sure however if maul was the Sith Lord anakin would be the most OP Jedi in Star Wars history as this allows him to reach his full potential. Also anakin and palpatine’s relationship pre mustafar would likely have been different as well and then there’s dooku

If I was a Stormtrooper, I would want to keep my armor and E-11 Blaster. I would also look for old Imperial bunkers in the hopes of finding old weapons. I would become the biggest arms dealer in the galaxy.
Who'd have ever thought that a former Stormtrooper could be someone that you have to take seriously? Sure sometimes they weren't as effective and also served a good comedic relief, but it's only until you see the best of the best of the Stormtroopers that things can get serious

Just goes to show when the plot armor is applied to a storm trooper we get a crime lord who is neigh unstoppable. Man this is a great arc, as an empire fan it’s nice to see a storm trooper get some spotlight for once and even step up to be an even better villain than no one understands me “Krylo Ren” and only “half” baked snoke. This may be a new favorite character for me to get behind. Hopefully Disney won’t leave him unmentioned in the movies...
The storm trooper seemed to be very intelligent too. Perhaps he was among the smartest of his fellow troopers and not some bumbling idiot who always fails at life whenever he is faced with his foes. After killing his suicidal commander, and deciding to take charge of his own interest in the galaxy he gave me quite a Sith-like vibe. Hence how the apprentice will eventually choose to kill the master to be the new number one.

I doubt he will continue to try and restart the old empire glory days, but it’s so refreshing to see the old ideals live on with him and have such a large impact on the franchise. I hate how the first order has become a shitty version of the glorious empire. I hope he can resurrect the storm trooping we all know and love with better aim this time.
JustEpicIdeas Oh, the new sequels are so bad! (In my opinion). I'd rather re-watch The Force Awakens over The Last Jedi anytime, if I had to choose.
I have personally scoped something intriguing, and suspect a rather dark intention for this comic. Let's just say that if either you or me had the opportunity to write something like this we would have enjoyed writing it for good reason. Because it gave the author a chance to shadow a hidden message of personal opinion of the new trilogy through the use of his own made up characters who happen to take part of the original trilogy's timeline.
A former imperial storm trooper had grown dissatisfied towards the development of the First Order and the Resistance which happens after the fall of the true empire. It is a deeply relate-able subject among many Star Wars fans.
If you still are confused to what I am telling you, do you remember why Shakespeare wrote Hamlet? During the Queen Elizabeth I's rule, it was illegal to ask the question "who is going to be king?" in England. Hamlet was Shakespeare's loophole around that illegal question because the setting strategically took place in Denmark (another place), during the late middle ages (another time), and all of the heirs to the throne have been killed off in the end. Giving the audience the opportunity to legally say "who is going to be king?" As long as it concerned Hamlet (wink, nudge).
SnipingFlute I concur that the new trilogy is falling very short of expectations. The Last Jedi for me was a nightmare inducing horror, in which an expanded universe and lore heavy man such as myself and I take it you as well, found absolutely disgraceful for a Star Wars film. I do really hope that this character can reach greater potential, because we see his “falling from grace” and his declaration to take on a very Machiavellian role in the universe. If he can’t have a side he will ruin both and watch from afar to swoop in and claim the remains. Now Shakespeare isn’t my favorite for I lack the focus to really sit down and read his literature I can see what point you make. I believe instead of him being the new “king” I see him as a “Kingmaker.” Which will be a very integral role in deciding a victor.
