Vader's comment was actually a very acidic form of advice if you think about it. While he was taunting her, no one could speak with that much insight about what she's done and gone through than someone who's been their themselves. His comment could almost be directed at himself because on an unconscious level, in canon at least, Vader realizes his sacrifices and becoming what he became were all for nothing. He basically told her that revenge trapped her in a prison. A prison he knows all too well.
As depressing this story is, it's surprisingly realistic. Chanath's hatred was justified, she spent decades trying to get her revenge, she had comrades she could trust... but it all amounted to nothing.
She might have had at least a fighting chance if she didn't take 5 minutes to tell Vader her entire plan. She could have just shot him in the back, but she needed give Vader too much exposition.
These comics are so cool. Like, we all know Vader will live and win. So whoever is fighting him will die or lose. And the fact they are able to still tell amazing story and make you like the characters. Is amazing in these times. Would be awesome if these stories got a animation movie or series

I'm surprised chanath didn't have an EMP based arsenal as a way to deactivate/disrupt vader's suit, looks like she only focused on his force & lightsaber abilities
Problem with that strategy is Vader can live through the force without his suit, more than long enough to kill you. Probably making him mad by messing up his life support turns his sion-like dark side up to max. When his suit breaks he just uses the force to make up for whatever is broken, so unless you can finish the job, hurting him just makes him take you seriously and more angry(kinda akin to pissing off the hulk :-p )

Think that that was practicaly immediately after the events of Revenge of the Sith. To the point that barely no one outside the Emperor and the Inquisitors knew who he was at the moment. So I guess there were still some bits of Anakin's good side that hadn't burned completly yet.
He was always a little mercurial. His reactions and decisions depended heavily on his mood. For example in Empire Strikes back, we see him choke out anybody and everybody who makes a mistake or fails in their mission, even if it wasn't their fault. But then when Vader is preoccupied after his encounter with Luke on Bespin, he completely ignores Piett's admission of failure even though it was much more egregious than some of the ones he'd already killed people over. I would guess that he was either similarly preoccupied or in a decent mood after defeating her parents, having a fun battle and speeder-chase, and uncovering a plot against him from within the Imperial hierarchy, that he simply put her out of his mind as irrelevant and moved on.
I love that the Charles Soule slowly developed her character, in different comic series (Lando, Vader, Crimson dawn trilogy). It was really cool when I realized she wasn't a new character and had appeared years ago.
It's pretty rich for Vader to make fun of her revenge quest when the only reason he's even still alive is because he hated me. Then again, Vader is a hypocrite when push comes to shove. He's a Sith who puts his desires over anyone else's. He will manipulate and abuse other people but hates it when he is manipulated or abused. All the more reason and justification of amazing more power, so he can use that power to control other people while making sure no one can control him.
Tbh, given the extensive stories they gave Vader in the comics (he got 3 self-titled comic series, for Force's sake), ANYONE trying to take him down will always be humiliated losers; whether they're fellow Imperials, bounty hunters, or even rebels. We know how Vader's story ends in Return of the Jedi, it's amusing to see all of these people thought they had a chance against him at all when they are not Luke. When they started doing Crimson Dawn stories and had Qi'ra declaring war against the Sith/Empire, I know she'll miserably fail.
I’ll like to see a story similar to this but with a bitter sweet ending instead. A kid who Vader kill his entire family and swore REVENGE. So this kid grew up to become a powerful outlaw and so the time came. He started to research Jedi and Sith Mythology, and said reacher took him to discover a ancient artifact that aloud people to see visions of the past. Our protagonist hope to use said artifact to discover who, Vader is and what could possibly make him tick in order to defeat him. Not only did our protagonist discover everything about Vader being Anakin but how Palpatine manipulated Anakin from achieving his destiny. Through this revelation our protagonist is moved by this tragic story, and swore to help Vader reclaim his destiny by helping Luke achieve his destiny. That would be a interesting story. 😉

We lost so many good and old friends of our favourite galaxy far, far away this year. But that hit different. Chanat Cha has been so long in the Canon now so there's that, but not only that. She saw her parents getting murdered by Darth Vader right in front of her and she didn't have the chance to revenge them, just to join them too in eternety, even if she trained her entire life just for this. Also, she was literally just used by a arrogant, selfish crime lady tyrant to work somewhat in her failed plan to destroy the Sith. She literally wasted everything in her life. Her death freaking hurt. I think she could be best described with Luthen Raels words: "I burnt my decency for someone elses future. I burnt my life for a sunrise I know I'll never see."

If it actually impacts him, what if they dumped a suprise bomb full of acid on him while he was in an area he couldn't wash it off. He (apparently) can't detect a sniper laser hurling towards him (which makes no sense since he can deflect them with the force) but if that worked in the comics, then a bomb hurled at high speeds while hes unaware should do the same trick. They should have had him use the force to get the acid off of him or something. I feel like since he had to wash it off, its WAY too easy to possibly kill this comic version of him.

Theres always such hype around weapons the sith left behind but they either end up destroyed or convienently misplaced. Sad we never get to really see any of them really be used. But I suppose it makes sense since alot of them are literally solar system destroying level weapons most times.

We lost so many good and old friends of our favourite galaxy far, far away this year. But that hit different. Chanat Cha has been so long in the Canon now so there's that, but not only that. She saw her parents getting murdered by Darth Vader right in front of her and she didn't have the chance to revenge them, just to join them too in eternety, even if she trained her entire life just for this. Also, she was literally just used by a arrogant, selfish crime lady tyrant to work somewhat in her failed plan to destroy the Sith. She literally wasted everything in her life. Her death freaking hurt.
I think she could be best described with Luthen Raels words: "I burnt my decency for someone elses future. I burnt my life for a sunrise I know I'll never see."
Not even close, revenge is selfish motive, not about others. Also Sabine literally undid the work of the Rebel Alliance, way to murder a character Filoni. She was never like that in Rebels.

Woah, that’s actually kinda cool. I remember reading this comic and thinking this family would just be a one-off for Vader to slaughter. Completely forgot the daughter survived and makes sense she would try and kill Vader over the 23 years of the empire’s existence.
lol the writers really wanted to dunk on this girl lol and have her whole story become a joke haha. She really did take a fat L there and got most of her new family killed. And hell even had her die thinking 1 or 2 of them escaped lol.

I'm legitimately curious, what would Vader have done if there wasnt water to wash off the acid? lol. If it actually impacts him, what if they dumped a suprise bomb full of acid on him while he was in an area he couldn't wash it off. He (apparently) can't detect a sniper laser hurling towards him (which makes no sense since he can deflect them with the force) but if that worked in the comics, then a bomb hurled at high speeds while hes unaware should do the same trick. They should have had him use the force to get the acid off of him or something. I feel like since he had to wash it off, its WAY too easy to possibly kill this comic version of him.

A sad sad story..but beautifully written.
I mean, sure, she spent years of her life setting up this fight and got all her friends killed doing it. But its probably going to take Vader a whole hour or two to get those acid burns buffed out and a new robot hand attached! Definitely worth it.
