I’m very surprised by this. I’ve never heard of this character before, and to hear how Vader did light side care to him is amazing. He must have truly been the one person during that time whom Vader called a friend.
Reason why he was so lonely was because he looked like a samurai who you didn't want to mess with... unless you strip away his force abilities. Then he becomes your grandfather's grandpa, with sand in his shoes.
Unlike the manner in which Palpatine treated him, Vader didn't send people to try to kill Lekauf to prove he was the best sidekick Vader could have. He valued him as a friend, not just an asset. He was never completely evil.
Wow, Darth Vader the most known villain in the pop culture has a side that maybe some fans we don't know, I'm surprised to see that Vader had a friend I am so surpised after to see this
3:38-3:46 I don't think that Vader could have done that, without at least temporarily harnessing the Light side of the Force. Perhaps for at least a few moments, Anakin came out. After all, friendship and compassion are emotions stemming from the Light side.
I'm just picturing a landing craft coming outside his house one afternoon and he goes out to greet the troopers to rather be met by Vader. Catching up and introducing him to his family, maybe give the grandkid a piggy back ride (bcuz why not) and leaving happy knowing he had the chance to say goodbye to his only friend left
Nice to see that Lord Vader kept some humanity.... even though it’s only Legends... I hate how they are adding in new things and trying to make Vader seem so weak..How losing part of his legs and arms diminished his ability to use the Force... so stupid... He was still more man then machine to me...
He lost a couple of abilities because his members weren't organics, not to mention his suit was built like ass! But he got a lot others to so, it's a good trade to me.
He had respect for Thrawn, albeit begrudgingly. Thrawn at that point had proven his talents and skill as a tactician, and his ability to fight alongside Vader. He (Thrawn) actually offered his services and skills to Vader to help him with the thorn in his side, Xixor, to which Vader remarked, "alien vs alien, interesting"
This just goes to show you that even when one side is obviously in the wrong or evil it doesn't mean that the people on that side are evil. Hearing how this ended, I couldn't help but be slightly satisfied.
Yeap, seeing how everyone and everything in Vader's life ends up in death and misery (not through his fault necessarily). I just wonder if they considered each other *friends*, like drinking a beer together and telling stories kinda friends.
Sad fact: Jori served under Colonel Jacen Solo in the Galactic Alliance Guard and was one of Ben Skywalker’s best friends. He loved and admired his grandpa and was loyal to Jacen and Ben because the cousins were the grandsons of Darth Vader. He later sacrificed himself to save Ben during a mission.

Although I am curious where palpetine was during the whole shuttle fight.
If he would have seen Vaders reaction when Lecoth got burned. He surely would have taken action and still, forced vader to kill him. Because remember, he has forced Vader to do this kind of horrible stuf very often. I think if palpetine was there. He would have forced vader to kill the man. VADER Would have done it because is trust nad friendship with Lecoth would eventually be overwon by his fear for the Emperor.
Well the man was competent and an asset so Palps would only hurt himself by killing off such an accomplished and loyal man.
"Do you fully understand the magnitude of how pleased I am with you?"
For whatever weird reason this line put a smile on my face.
Thor: DIE THANOS!!

spinningninja2 That’s not Lekauf he says it to, that’s Piett - and it’s from a fan comic by an artist called Laivaaja. You can find her works on AO3.
It's the redemption that brings that smile to you. The thought of it, anyhow.
I can consider this as canon. If Darth Vader had a friend in Lekauf, that's a good thing. Even a Dark Lord of the Sith needs a friend.
He had palps
Lance Curry Palps who was the most powerful sith ever (in my opinion), gave Anakin the chance to be his apprentice, a great honor! You know how many people would kill for that job? Plus, Anakin is the one that choked his pregnant wife and slaughtered children. So, he’s not exactly a great guy either. So even if padme lived she wouldn’t wanna be with him anyway
Palps had a bro to.
Meet Sate Pestage!
this could fit into canon if disney decides to reintroduce more content from legends they cherry pick.
@@imperialbengal4068
But vader hated palpatine.
This was the Anakin in him. Vader respected officers like this one so I am not surprised he let him live
Vader respected soldiers, but not officers. You don't see him choking out Stormtroopers for failing him - and this guy was a lot closer to a soldier than most Imperial officers.

I’m very surprised by this. I’ve never heard of this character before, and to hear how Vader did light side care to him is amazing. He must have truly been the one person during that time whom Vader called a friend.
"My dad is a really succesful trader in this Galaxy"
"My dad is friends with Darth Vader"

Luke: well my dad IS DARTH VADER!!!!!
Oliver Asensio well at least my dad didn’t get his hand cut off by Vader

Meanwhile...
Reason why he was so lonely was because he looked like a samurai who you didn't want to mess with... unless you strip away his force abilities. Then he becomes your grandfather's grandpa, with sand in his shoes.
*Shots fired... again*
whitepiano23 well in legends atleast, in canon, he is a samurai wielding force god in every scene of him *all he time*
The Mountain of Santa Pfft. A space marine could defeat him. Or a terminator, perhaps

Then prehaps your not as strong as the emperor has forseen..... 😂
Ok
Your name speaks to me on so many levels (and I'm not talking about the movie).
I Hate 2D animation profiles I will be his best friend. But hes dead now
Unlike the manner in which Palpatine treated him, Vader didn't send people to try to kill Lekauf to prove he was the best sidekick Vader could have. He valued him as a friend, not just an asset. He was never completely evil.
'there IS still good in him' - Luke.
Wow, Darth Vader the most known villain in the pop culture has a side that maybe some fans we don't know, I'm surprised to see that Vader had a friend I am so surpised after to see this
Vader was a lot of things, but he was never a true psychopath.
3:38-3:46
I don't think that Vader could have done that, without at least temporarily harnessing the Light side of the Force.
Vader giving piggyback rides!?
FORCY SHIT!!!
For once, Vader is using the force to lift someone off the ground and he's *not* trying to kill them!
He's a sexy ventilator!!!
This is some of the good that Luke saw was still inside Vader. He still had the capacity for mercy, and kindness, and something like friendship
Do you know what Vader's opinion of Thrawn was?
Probably respected him
But probably didn't think to much of him.
haleme "does his job " is probably his view
He had respect for Thrawn, albeit begrudgingly. Thrawn at that point had proven his talents and skill as a tactician, and his ability to fight alongside Vader. He (Thrawn) actually offered his services and skills to Vader to help him with the thorn in his side, Xixor, to which Vader remarked, "alien vs alien, interesting"
haleme the sequel to thrawn coming next year is all about Thrawn working with Vader
haleme W will find out this summer, I guess...
Quite possibly the only guy to retire out of service to Vader and the GE. Bet the pension clerks were surprised as hell.
Every single person that served Darth Vader: WTF! HE WAS ABLE TO RETIRE WITHOUT BEING KILLED!?😨
Marc-Éric Le Blanc-Séguin Well, who didn't sacrifice for Ben, amirite?
Histoy repeating.
Marc-Éric Le Blanc-Séguin damn.
The galaxy far far away is a scary place wasn’t it?
I'm not even a Star Wars fan but I find these backstories fascinating

Another reason legends was so much better
Zimzilla 99 oh this is legends I was wonder which one this story is in
Zimzilla 99 Yeah, cause since the word "Legends" is in the title, it instantly means its better than anything canon. SW fans these days....
Random Guy In most cases yes, Canon has not produced any new material that hasn't been done already in legends. And most books and games (especially games) have been worse in quality with canon SO yeah ill take my Star Wars battlefront 2 with mod support over EA's canon battlefront 2
Random Guy
Fan these days prefer a more creative non canon universe to the boring canon that Disney has enforced on them
Zimzilla 99 Clearly, you've never read any of the new Darth Vader comics or seen Rogue One. But ill agree with you, as long as the game rights belong to EA, we wont be getting anything good from there.
Amazing to know that despite everything he has gone through, Vader still had some humanity left in him. Honestly this is a very touching story.
'Do you have any idea of the magnitude of how pleased I am with you?'
Damn that's a really good line especially coming from Vader. You can see he has some genuine admiration for the officer.
