Kinvara 4 was my first real running shoes and what I wore on my first half marathon, thus I'll always have a soft spot for Kinvara and Saucony. However, I've always found Kinvara to be kind of slappy. I surmise it's something about the durable EVA outsole. Despite the name change, that bottom EVA is very Kinvara-esque.
No offense to those who like this shoe but I think Saucony missed the boat on this one mainly due to the power run layer. If they replaced that with Power run pb they might have a winner. Such a waste of the incredirun foam on top.
I think the expectation from this shoe and Kinvara pro has been that you should be able to pick up the pace easily in them. Saucony should've been more precise with the intended use of these shoes. To me they are more for steady pace long runs, nothing too fast or beyond marathon pace. They are supposed to be true marathon trainers but not for the fastest runners as high stack shoes are just too heavy clunky and slow for that purpose. My issue with them if any would still be the weight and the outsole durability.
A shame, as I really like the tropical colourway…. Interested in them maybe being for bigger runners - I’m 90kg (CrossFit is my primary sport) and have often had very different reaction to shoes than most of running RUclips. Feels like a missed opportunity that you have multiple reviewers but you’re all the same sub 70kg ish build. Send me them and I’ll let you know if they suck for big guys too 😅
Tried it out with the Speed 4 as I’m between sizes, basically should have stayed 9 as it’s safer! But with Saucony and Asics training shoes usually a 8.5 is OK as it’s US 9.5
I really miss my old endorphin shift. I know they were generally thought of as a brick, but I enjoyed the firmness with that speedroll. I'm also around 200lbs so that pwrrun might just work for me better. Maybe I'll look at these if they ever hit the sales.
so lame to still use pwrrun??? at minimum they should use pwrrun+ or go wild with pwrrun pb and take a risk. saucony went from the best lineup to ultra safe boring shoes
@ i’m sure they have a ton leftover. the ride 15 was one of the most disappointing shoes i’ve ever bought. it’s crazy the ride is now using pwrrun+ and this “super trainer” is stuck with pwrrun.
Another informative review, thank you. Pease keep them coming, enjoying the comments on this shoe.
Kinvara Pro were A1. Have a 35:16 10k in them. They aren't "dead" as people say.
Anything with the old Powerrun is hard and dead 😂
i really enjoyed the kinvara pro will be picking up the endorphin trainer some time

7:39 I hope that brown stain on the sole is not what I think it is...
@@TrueManShow777 same thought came to mind when I saw that too.
Pretty sure it is 😂
When are you guys going to review the Ride 18???

From every review I've seen it seems like they missed the mark on this one

I thought nick was always a saucony UK9, why is he using UK8.5 now?

So one person says it’s very soft and another says it’s firm. That’s helpful 😂
Flip a coin
Try it yourself 😂
@ I just flipped the coin and it said shoe is a Dud.
@Decisions4u Your coin is correct.

Could be that Saucony has shelves of it leftover and they are trying to off load it onto other shoes, rather than pay hazardous waste dump fees.

I wouldn’t buy any shoe with almost zero outsole.
Hard pass.
Looks like it is a Dud.
