Forgot to mention that you can also finish the crown outside the patient’s mouth.
For that make sure you put vaseline on the surface of the tooth before you seat the index with temporary filling material on the prepped tooth. This way the temporary crown material will not bond to the tooth and you can take it out after it sets, finish it, polish it and then place it back into patient’s mouth with temporary cement.

Hi Dr Faizan, did you learn all this after treating my case? 😮 I was sent home with horrible temporaries twice, first ones were sharp, chubby and round. The second were almost like vampire’s. Wish there was an option to upload pictures in the comments to show how they were.

Nice video sir... but if the patient comes with carious tooth which needs endo or any trimming how will we proceed with that? As most of the times the tooth requiring endo or crown doesn't have its all walls intact.. what is the protocol for that?

Thankyou Arooba. If it’s been put on with temporary cement, just pull it off and it should come off easily. If it’s tight and isn’t coming out, cut it off. I usually cut it off if i feel even a little bit resistance.
@@DRSMFaizansir usually when any tooth we are planning to do endo doesn't have it's normal architecture retained after caries, usually tooth requiring endo treatment is cariously destructed then what to do??? Plzz reply
