  • My take on the awesome accesorie for your Weber GA, the 'riser'! It turns the humble GA into a spit, and oven, and indirect charcoal grill and smoking machine!

What briquettes are those? Wasn't able to get mine that hot, but could have been because there wasn't enough of them

Was just wondering your thoughts on a 200mm riser as opposed 100mm and also do you find you lose much temp from the spit ports on the side?

Hey mate the 200mm is the best for a spit. I don't tend to find you lose too much heat. You can always close both or one top vent and just use the slots on the side as your outlet

Can you use more than one riser at a time?

If you have a couple that will fit together, I don't see why not

I like the idea however when I looked these risers up, they are $200...!!!!!!! Not worth it, Grossly overpriced for a piece of sheet metal!!!! I will just use my regular weber kettle for cooking.

I was wanting to use the riser to cook larger bits of meat than the low lid would allow.
Is there a way to set the grill at a level midway up the riser rather than at it's original height, or does that even make a difference if I was putting the fuel offset from the meat?

yeah mate you could put in some screws yourelf or buy one from que tensils they have a grate at 100mm and 200mm and of course you can use the weber base grate also. I cooked bone marrow at the 100mm great and a rib eye at the 200mm at the same time the other day. love my que tensil. quetensils.com/collections/frontpage/products/ga-high-rider-200mm-riser
