this method worked on one fob but not my spare fob. i found another video that showed that the key itself is the tool used in a different slot to open the device.
Clear and concise! Thanks.

Replaced the 2 batteries in my 2019 Outback "his & her remotes" for $8.50. I wish you'd mentioned that's it's really important to leave the top portion of the fob face down when you remove it. Naturally the flexible cover sleeve fell out of the 1st one I disassembled and it took a bit of time to get the very small plastic pieces back in and realigned. I totally agree with the other users about this being very helpful and straightforward.
Thanks very much. Instructions were spot on!

The notch part was unclear as it was turned away from the camera when you inserted the screwdriver. There looks to be a horizontal notch and a vertical notch. But I figured it out. Thank you!
Thank you. Very helpful.

The part where the screwdriver blade is put into the slot is too dark to see what is happening. I'd say to avoid putting the screwdriver into the slot where the key was located. The whole thing can fall apart into many pieces. There is one video on this site that has details for getting all the parts back to where they belong. I 've changed batteries in this fob many times and then, once, all the stuff fell out. The pieces that identify the emergency noise and the trunk opening are the same size. Be careful to put them back in the right place. Make a note where they are when you start, just in case. If they're in swapped positions, pressing the trunk symbol will set off the alarm.
Easy. Thank you.

"where" to put the screwdriver to open the case is glossed over. After watching that a couple of times, I knew where to put it but that is a critical element that is not obvious. Maybe you could have a photo to show the exact location, otherwise a great video.
Everything went beautifully until I tipped the fob upside down to let the old battery drop out and then the silvet button ALSO dropped out along with a tiny spring which I can't figure out how to put back in! 🤥
Happened to me too!
Happened to me too and can’t figure out how the silver piece and spring get reinserted? Help!
@@ronlagace7347 at exactly 1' 29" you can see close to the bottom left hand corner a little silver doohickey that sticks up higher like a tiny square tower. If that falls out it looks like a piece from a puzzle that can fit back seven different ways. If you can put it back in just like in this frame from the video, it'll work. I was lucky, sorta, because I had TWO keys that needed fixing and I was able to be more careful with the second key and have a good look at the doohickey and how it sits above the others - so that when it gets pressed down it makes some sort of connection.
I do hope my attempt at remembering and describing the solution helps you!
oh at 1' 39" you get a really good view of it
Do I need to resync the fob with the car after changing the battery?
No
Is this type of keyless remote programmable by myself?
Unfortunately not - you will need an automotive locksmith or dealership. You can find a locksmith in your area here www.LocateALocksmith.com
That was the sh*t yo👌🏻✌🏻
Does it work to for European Subaru Outback 2019?
not sure but if the key fob looks the same I would bet so
@@PYR-Auto it worked👍 tnx
Doesn’t work at all
