Nice Riveria. Different dealers have different business plans. The best is CQA Brandon. $5K and under. Sold all his cars in two days. LOL
He also runs cash only. There's a fair number of people that just want a cheap car or got that tax refund money. You run into problems when you sell cheap cars but you also do financing-because the kind of person who buys a 5K car but needs to finance it is a whole different caliber of buyer than that person who walks in with cash. You start dealing with subprime borrowers and that's where the headaches really begin.
does CQA even sell cars? all I ever see is him talking about the market
I had to unsubscribe from CQA Brandon. It's the same video every week - he realized a while ago that he'd tapped into an audience that wants to hear that car prices are crashing so he basically remakes the same video every week reinforcing that message. He seems like a good guy, but I prefer the car buying/selling aspect more than the dealership lot walks.
@@nyc8452 I unsubbed from him too, most of these car dealer RUclipsrs dont even sell cars anymore they just make clickbait videos for RUclips and CQA Brandon is a prime example.

Those Rivieras have been at the bottom of their depreciation curve ($3500 range) for 15 years at least. They depreciated quick but the drivetrains are pretty solid (transmission sometimes gives problems). It's just a kind of weird, heavy, old-school American coupe that came out as demand for that segment was dying. It'll probably run forever though.

The smoking mazda was a MazdaSpeed 3. Almost always smoking due to a bad turbo. Fun cars when properly running. I bought one like that several years back at a dealer auction, smoked like crazy, and it was an insane deal. 450 back then part and labor had it back up and running.

I had a 1988 grand prix with the 5 spd. THE best highway car I ever owned. That whole series based on the platform were excellent vehicles. Sporty enough to bomb around the city but on a long road trip on the highway? wow.....My dad had a 1980 olds regency and it was comfortable on the highway BUT it floated like a boat. Too big to have fun in the city.

Oil stickers in windows are the mileage when it was changed now so they got the oil changed at 81,400 miles
My stickers have date and mileage of when the next change is due. Of course, different places do the stickers different.
It might sound so stupid but, the 95 Buick Riviera has always been 1 of my lower end dream cars. My mother had one when I was in middle school, it was the first car I ever learned to drive in, and they are rocket ships. When we first had it, my mother was driving us home in Oklahoma over the hills and she looked downand realized she was doing over 100 mph and you couldn’t even feel it because it was so smooth. I had an opportunity I would buy that car so fast. It was even the same color as the one in this video.
Love the Buick had the same car in Black Cherry and it was a 96 model unfortunately it got rear-ended hard and was totaled

Always liked that Riviera. Although I have always been a old school Pontiac guy I remember admiring these on the streets of Boston when they were new.

@@raymondreiff8170 what other suv would you recommend that provides all those for 35-40k? close to 500hp and will make over 600hp with just a tune. S58 engines are solid. I like the explorer ST but they can be pretty unreliable especially with turbos blowing.

My dad had a Riviera in that body style when they first came out (1986/7 ???) and at the time it was very cool car. We loved it
I read once that the GM Designer that penned that 1995 Riviera had a thing for the Shelby Corbra. If you look at the car from the front you can see the cobre grill design.

That Riveria is really clean, the design has aged well too. Plus the 3.8 has a great reputation, that might be a Cars&Bids contender, maybe Hoovie will get in a bidding war and overpay.

Lately at the dealer auctions in NC I’m seeing dealers pay more than I can buy on marketplace or with a sign at the road saying cash for cars
Would it be worth it to travel south or west to avoid the rust? Transport would probably add too much?
2020 and newer Ford Explorer STs don't have a 3.5 ecoboost anymore. They now have 3.0 bi turbo ecoboost. It's suppose to be faster than the 3.5 twin turbo

The 2022 Explorer st, had been wrecked and repainted either on the front clip or driver side door all the way back, the paint color didn't match perfectly.... When I used to be in the car business, that's what I did, I checked the outside and was as accurate as a paint meter.... I can't tell you how thick the paint is, but I can tell you if it's a factory paint job or not with just my fingers! But that suburu Is a badass car and not as hard as most Ppl think, to fix
the grey honda and blue explorer st appear to have been painted. honda front qtr. driver door on the explorer.that buick is awesome
