Kumite rounds are lightning fast in this fun tournament to avoid injuries as much as possible.
This is the women's black and brown belt kumite category, featuring Shotokan Karate at the February 2012 league event of the Inter-Dojo Shotokan League of Manitoba. Competition is held over the length of a season with awards being awarded at the end. Any Shotokan karate practicioner in Manitoba can participate.
This was February 2012 and was hosted by Charleswood Karate IKD Winnipeg on Roblin Blvd
During the event, brown and black belts compete together in mens, womens and junior categories, and blue and red belts are used. Judging is according to the JKA tournament rules, with four corner officials and a center judge.
