@@ThisBraveHeart Estrada I really appreciate your honestly and perspective on this. I am surprised your husband was honest with you about that but I do think that is common and although my husband doesn't say it- when I DO get really dressed up with makeup too and everything- he treats me differently in public, it's like he wants to show me off more, I guess it's just something to do with our husbands brains. but I do tell him that I am the 24/7 caretaker and homeschool teacher for our kids and I only dress for comfort to do that, 99% of the time, even when we gather with our home church. And he is always happy with me. But obviously when I get fancy things are different.
I can definitely relate to the 'instagram' type woman- still so even when they are married- and it's disturbing to me and not at all what I believe God wills for us. It's leaven. That shapeless clothing, earth tones, and covered hair will make them pleasing to God, and desirable to holy men? That they will be protected from harassment and lustful gazes, and they will be granted a husband who sees them for who they really are, not just their bodies-because they keep their elbows, knees, and hair covered? Because none of these things are promised in the word of God. Living in a fallen world means clothing may not keep them safe from any of the above and worse. Only the power of God can do that-and even if they are stark naked. There are no magical physical clothes or head coverings. We are saved by grace alone, and not by works of righteousness.

I don’t believe we all have to go full on skirts and head coverings. It truly is a matter of the heart. And if you know you’re not wearing things to merely get attention or looks or for whatever reason we do theses things then I think that is what God is looking for.
Not saying anything bad about skirts and head coverings. I think if that’s what you feel like you need to do then that is between you and God. I’m team cover up.

Beautiful testimonies... When I first got saved in 2019, one of my first convictions was about modesty. I used to wear makeup everyday, wore very immodest clothing, I loved attention from men and competing with other women. But when God saved me, I became aware of my nakedness. Wear crop tops, short skirts, tight clothing to this world may not look immodest because their eyes are blind, they don't see God's standard yet us in Christ do and it can take time to grow in the area of modesty but He will finish the work He began in us. I started headcovering a year ago and have adjusted my dress to draw less attention until I was picked up quite severely by a distant relative, this woman tore me down and that distorted my view lf myself, I became more prideful feeling I had to prove myself. I stopped headcovering and though I didn't go back to my immodest dress, I started to want to show off my hair again and wear more expensive clothes to feel worthy. Until recently God has called me back... I started covering my head again and am now just trying to build up a comfortable wardrobe of modest plain dress... finding clothes is so hard these days, so many skirts are not lined and dresses have plunging neck lines... I making do right now with what I havebut I'd love to learn to sew.
God bless these women, and thank you for pursuing what many are afraid to do. I am also that women who covers and dresses "frumpy" when no one else in church does but even so God is with me and working through me and around me.
Let's be a witness to the women around us. ✨✝️✨

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of parched ground: He hath no form, no beauty; and when we see it, there is no beauty for which we desire it. Isaiah 53:2
      Makeup is a shame.
Jesus Christ did not have an appearance that caught the eye and therefore we too must follow in the footsteps of the Master, dressing ourselves in modesty and humility (wearing makeup attracts the eye).
It is written in the Word of God that makeup was used by pagans ( And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window 2 Kings 9:30 ).
Furthermore, makeup was used in rituals: therefore wearing makeup is an idolatrous and pagan practice.
In Italy the word makeup is called "t r u c c o" and indicates something that deceives and when you wear makeup you have an appearance that is not real and the children of God are children of the Truth and cannot wear a lie. May God the Father bless and enlighten those who seek Him in the Spirit and in the Truth, making us grow in the sanctification of the Holy Spirit and in the love of His Son Christ Jesus the Lord. Shalom Adonai

Makeup and clothing has very little to do with your heart. The Shema says the first commandment is to love God with all your heart all your soul and all your mind and a second is similar to it… love your neighbour as yourself… Modesty AND moderation are wonderful. I applaud these woman however wearing makeup and attractive modest clothes doesn’t mean you are less passionate about loving God!
Notice these woman all have quite a few children ; between 7-12, that’s great for them and it doesn’t mean we all need to follow in their exact footsteps.

This is my issue too. My husband constantly calls my loose dresses pillow cases. I have tried to explain to him that I’m trying to be modest but he feels like I’m hiding my body. That’s not my purpose and I don’t know how to get that across. Not that I need to be dressed like a nun but the more I seek god the more I realize my loose baggy jeans and flowy skirts feel more comfortable than the tight jeans and super revealing T-shirt’s. I also have two teen daughters in trying to be an example for😞. I will pray for you and encouragement and strength for you.

I’m so sorry sister in Christ please don’t be discouraged or feel like your any less beautiful because you are beautiful in the Lord’s eyes You aren’t alone I too been struggling dying to the flesh but I am slowly transitioning after God showed me dreams on how I should dress and I took the hint. I’m still buying skirts slowly and my sleeping pajamas to be dresses. I would always wear shorts, leggings and ripped jeans but I can’t wear them anymore. Right now I’m wearing shorts as we speak lol because my dresses are dirty so I have to wash them 😢 as far as my family they havent said anything about me dressing in skirts just one family member misses how I used to dress but I just ignore it. Let’s continue to die to our flesh for Jesus and walk the narrow path. Family or society might look at us differently but in the end God finds us beautiful and he’s calling all of us to be apart from the world. The devil runs the world so that’s why they all find it weird the way we dress because he’s the one who influenced everyone to dress inappropriate amongst other things. Let’s pray for for everyone to turn from their ways and for them to turn to Christ. God bless 🙏🏼

I grew up homeschool, and felt little to no insecurity about how I dressed or what I looked like. This was partially due to my personality, as a sister of mine still had struggles with body image, but being homeschooled still had a big impact on out how I felt about myself. My mom shopped and thrift stores for clothing that was modest and high quality, not for clothes that were trendy. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we also have a modesty standard. I sincerely believe that you can dress modestly and beautifully to glorify God and express your God given internal gifts and creativity! Whenever I meet women who define their worth by their appearance it really hurts my heart. They are daughters of God and worth so much more than what they look like. Their souls are unique and beautiful. I believe it is right to dress to express the inner person--the person God loves and wants to save. That's my little testimony on modesty.

That's nice that you want to dress modestly, but it won't get you to heaven. The Bible says, You must be born again. Latter Day Saints is a cult, and do not teach truth. There's only one way to a relationship with God, through the blood that Jesus shed on the cross. Please get you a KJV Bible, and read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the four gospels.

Thank you for this. It is reaffirming. I have been dressing modestly for about 12 years. I wore the headcovering for several years and then stopped. After going through loss/grief and needing to be closer to God, I felt pulled to start back wearing a headcovering. It has been very freeing and I feel different when I am covered. It's interesting how it can make you feel alone or alienated by family and even other church members if you attend a church where headcovering is not the norm. Luckily, I go to a church that has a mixture of African, Indian, and other ethnicities who regularly headcover for cultural as well as religious reasons, so I don't feel out of place.

    So edifying.
I also loved how at the root it was brought back to discipleship. We are ambassadors of Christ & our identity is in Him. If we walk by His Spirit we will not fulfill lusts of the flesh.
Modesty is a work of grace through the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is able to teach us and lead us in what pleases Him as it’s about Him, not man made standards. We can help one another in love but we each have to have our own faith.
I love that Erica said we should 1st ask ourselves:
“If God says so, will we do it?”
Are we willing to die to self
    In order to please Him?
& also love the encouragement by Natasha to press on even if we can be weary of standing out & being different. I’ve been mocked for my covering… I’ve been looked at funny for my style of dress when living in the city.. but, my heart’s posture has been
People didn’t die for me, Jesus did. I want to please Him.

Yes there is modest and there is plain. And modesty has a line. For my personal conviction I need a much bigger boundary in putting my sin to death and have been called to a plain life. It's not always about looks or even my body but my attention and focus, my desires and distractions. Taming a heart that wants to consume, consume everything and taste everything, build and buy and try everything lolol. I mostly have these huge desires and plans that mostly involve building things. I have to practice modesty and being plain in my desires to build and design things. I want to do everything and my desire and will get tangled up in extravagance if I let it. For me it's my heart, my desires, something I do that my friends might do everyday might be sinful for my heart because of my own flesh and because it might be too close to a temptation for me. Dress, clothing, makeup all those things if too much thought or attention goes into it I can easily fall into sin and being too excessive and it's where my heart is not about the actions. A friend could put on a little mascara and not fall into sin but that's not me.

That's more modest, in the sense of not drawing undue attention, than it would be if I were to wear very long skirts and cover my hair all the time. That's more unusual and thus more attention grabbing. If you ever see someone like that in the store, everyone is staring at them.

1 Corinthians literally tells us that a woman's long hair is given her for a covering.
1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
Why should we think we can do better than God and cover our long hair with a man-made covering?
The Bible teaches that a woman should only put on a covering if she has short hair or is shaven/bald:
"For if the woman be not covered (without LONG hair as her covering, but short), let her ALSO be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered." 1 Corinthians 11:6
So, no short hair, ladies, otherwise it's a head covering if you wish to be covered. Sorry. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm so excited to watch this. I used to be very revealing and immodest before I accepted Christ. It is a personal conviction for me to be modest and plain now. I had so many piercings, crazy hair styles, makeup, revealing clothes etc... i started being modest and embracing head covering (I felt convicted so I listened) and I feel closer to God. I hope more women embrace their convictions to be more modest in the months and years to come. I was so afraid to start because of fear of judgement. My fellow Christians were more vicious to me about it than the secular world was/is. Some days I am more modest than others, it fluctuates, but I always return to feeling convicted to go back to full modesty. As long as no one is forcing someone to be modest, why would they be ostracized? This whole legalism thing is real but modesty itself is not legalism, I think a lot of people don't take the time to mentally sort that out, they just go off on the Pharisee rant. Corinthians doesn't REQUIRE women to head cover, but it doesn't ban it either. It basically says if she is convicted to cover, then let her cover. But there is no rule against it. And modesty in general can apply to both men and women. 💓 it is such a beautiful thing when it is what a woman chooses to wear of her own free will.
Edit: if you want to be more modest, you can start with baby steps. For example, wear a regular t-shirt instead of a spaghetti strap shirt. Wear shorts that cover more of your legs instead of the shorty shorts. Start with wearing a headband instead of a full head scarf. Don't let people discourage you if you truly feel convicted to cover up a little more 💓 May God bless you and keep you

If we follow those who subscribe to the doctrine of women wearing veils then it can be argued that the most often cited verse in this teaching is 1st Corinth. 11:5, which states:
“But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.”
According to those who believe women ought to wear veils this verse implies that a woman’s uncovered head is someone who does not wear a veil. That they are wrong for failing to wear it and assumes that such a person already has long hair. Therefore, the conclusion is that it must be referring to an “additional” covering. Another conclusion is that a woman ought to be covered ONLY when praying and prophesying then it would seem as though it is something that can be placed on or taken off like a veil.
If there where only two exclusive moments then one should have no problem if an “unveiled” woman speaks in tongues, interprets tongues, heals the sick, casts out devils, etc., right? Following such logic it stands to reason that the other instances that I mentioned should be acceptable WITHOUT a veil, right? Now should they say NO, then they should admit that there may be more instances; thereby making the argument that the covering is removable based on two conditions, to be false. Please keep in mind that the word “veil” is not actually mentioned here, neither anything that EXPLICITLY states that the covering is something can be placed on or taken off. People ASSUME this because they are misreading scripture.
So what can we say about this? Just that Paul was giving us a couple of examples of how doing something HOLY or GODLY does not look right if she is uncovered, in other words not covered in long hair.
Let’s follow the logic of verse 5 in a real life scenario. Imagine a woman with long flowing hair praying and prophesying without a veil. Would the lack of a veil really equate to someone as if they were shaven? Did people really look at unveiled women as someone shaved? I am not saying this to be funny, but people have literally stated that an unveiled woman was likened to being shaved. Given that this comparison seems illogical one should consider that someone may be reading it wrong. For if “uncovered” means “short hair” then it fits the narrative of those who understand the word “uncovered” to mean “not covered in long hair,” (aka short hair) then the verse would make more sense in that a woman with short hair might as well be shaved, since it is already short.
So be honest, doesn’t it make more sense that an “uncovered” woman means a woman with short hair? Wouldn’t that be MORE closely relatable to being “shaven” than to someone who has long hair but not wearing a veil? In other words it is not a big leap to make the correlation between short hair to being shaven than to being asked to make a GIGANTIC LEAP OF LOGIC that an unveiled woman is somehow equal to being shaved. Please don’t dismiss this logic think about it for a minute.
If we examine all the verses from verse 4 to 15 without bias we should at least conclude that the passages have something to do with the physical heads of both men and women as well as headship. Bit as far as the physical head is concerned the question we should ask is: When they refer to “covered,” “cover,” “uncovered” and “covering” are they referring to long or short hair or some kind of veil? Some will even say all of the above, but if we carefully examine verse 15 it would seem that we would be getting a clearer picture of what was being referred to in the earlier verses when it mentions the words, “covered,” “cover” and “uncovered."
“But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her FOR a covering."
If the covering is long hair then the words “covered” or “cover” which are synonymous to “covering” should be understood as long hair as well. Then it makes sense when it says that it is shameful or dishonorable for a man to pray or prophesy with his head “covered” because they are referring to being covered in LONG hair. Now logically speaking wouldn’t being “uncovered” or “not covered” then mean short hair? Therefore, if to be covered refers to “long hair” then the opposite should be true, in that to be “uncovered” should be understood as having “short” hair. Some people will try to complicate this matter by addressing the Greek translation. If we are to make an exegesis to the words presented to us in the Bible then we should be able to easily understand them without having to start studying Greek.
If these verses do not move you yet then here’s one that should definitely blow your mind. Paul asks you to make a judgment call in verse 13 as if one should naturally see a problem because he asks you to:
"Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?"
Paul is asking us to make a judgment. Based on what? The only option is based on observation. Therefore, if “covering” really meant a veil or to be uncovered would mean to be without a veil, then one would have to explain in detail why a FABRIC VEIL would pop up into the average person’s mind when observing a woman praying? Why would you or I look at someone and think that a veil is missing and that it doesn’t look right? Someone needs to explain this logically. Again, don’t dismiss this think about it.
Be honest, does looking at a woman doing this naturally create a thought that a veil is missing? I have never seen or heard anyone say: "What a shame she is not wearing a veil on her head” after looking at a woman with long hair while praying, that would be ludicrous. One would have to be literally BRAINWASHED to think that the average person would EVER think that a SEPARATE OBJECT such as a veil would be missing on such a woman’s head. There is no NATURAL or NORMAL reasoning to make such a judgment. But if the word “UNCOVERED” were to mean "SHORT HAIR." then it would make LOGICAL sense. For if I were to observe a woman who has a short haircut doing these holy things like we read in verse 5, then I can naturally judge (by sight) that something doesn’t look right. Also, the very next verse continues this line of thinking that things should be obvious to understand by mere observation in nature.
"Doth not even NATURE itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him." 1st Corinthians 11:14
Note that verses 13 and 14 are two consecutive questions both of which ask you to NATURALLY or NORMALLY ASSUME or JUDGE that there is something wrong by OBSERVING a woman’s head to be uncovered (having short hair) while praying and a man being covered (having long hair). I would like to also add that it is NOT jumping from a “veil” in 13 and then suddenly to “hair” in 14 like some would like to suggest, because you will note that verse 15 refers back again to the woman which FLAT OUT STATES the “covering” to mean “long hair.” Therefore there is NO EXCUSE to not understand the previous verses.
By this simple understanding we can then understand the part where it states that it is shameful or dishonoring for a man to pray or prophesy with his head covered, meaning covered in long hair, like in verses 4:
“Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.”
This “dishonoring” of the head fits perfectly with verse 14 where it mentions that it is “shameful“ for a man to have long hair, therefore the topic is the same throughout the verses in that the head “COVERED” in this verse refers to “LONG HAIR. ”
I should note that verse 4 in NO WAY implies that the covering on the man can be placed on or taken off, like some like to argue, due the aforementioned false interpretation that the verse is being exclusive to two actions instead of seeing them as two examples. As stated before this verse simply states that it is dishonoring if a man does something holy or godly like praying or prophesying while covered in LONG HAIR. The same should be understood in verse 7:
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.”
Again, they are NOT implying something that can be put on or taken off, ESPECIALLY in this verse, as it offers no examples or “supposed” exclusive conditions. In this instance, it is to be understood that the man should not cover his head (with long hair) and the reason because he is the image and glory of God. This same idea should be included in the verses that refer to women like in verse 6:
“For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.”
This verse is often misinterpreted like verse 5 when it is simply mentioning in the same tone as the previous verse that if a woman has short hair then let her head be shaved BUT if it is a shame to be shaven let her be covered in long hair. It’s really not complicated once you understand what it means to be covered or uncovered. Everything else starts to make sense when you read the other verses knowing that they are referring to hair.
I have seen too many times people get stuck on just a couple of words that vaguely seem like some kind of headwear but do not take into consideration all the other verses that show that the “covering” means long hair and that the word “uncovered” is to mean short hair. Also, please keep in mind that there are various sections that would not make sense if you try to force the idea of veils. Therefore, given all this logic and proof, how can one conclude that they are referring to a hat, bonnet, or veil?

I kept thinking that I am happy that I'm not up there, because I'm shy and how could I ever say anything more important than the first lady who spoke. And then, the next lady spoke, and she also had things to say that tied into what the first one said, and then the 3rd, and then the 4th. I could see myself in each of these women. I could see people in my house telling me similar or even the same things that were told to each one of these women. I homeschool. I am out in the wilderness of Southern AZ. Compared to living in the city, almost no one would see me on a daily basis, and yet, I still ask myself: What would my family say about me, or to me, if I dressed with a head covering. I already dress modestly, except for that. It's that last thing. I already know that my husband would not mind. He appreciates that I don't put on makeup on a daily basis. I will go months without makeup and wear it only on occasions when it's a major holiday, and that's only if I can be bothered. Now that I say that, I feel silly that I have any cosmetics at all. I think I'll march myself right into the bathroom and throw it away! That way, I won't be tempted, and neither would my 7 year old. I can't wait until the Lord comes back and we can all just be accepted when dressing the way He wants.

I love the video. We need more personal testimonies, like this, to encourage all women to consider this step for Jesus. I feel especially now in these end times. I love modesty! :)

What articulate women! Thank you for your honesty, gratitude expressed to those who mentored/discipled you, for your willingness to share your heart-searching steps and daily surrender, and especially your theology from the Bible. The LORD is glorified and it is apparent this is your desire.

Thank you for sharing your experience of glorifying God above your desires boldly. His word has the power to give us not only God's desire but also to transform us to his likeness. I got encouraged and inspired.

Hello from South Africa 🇿🇦 this was amazing. I've always been a modest person buy my sister wasn't and gave her life to Jesus I 2020 lockdown. The Lord is leading her to modesty and headcovering. I feel in my spirit that the Lord is doing this for her because of the spirit of Jezebel. I haven't had this conviction because I never had an issue with self love to that degree. I told her it seems like a great idea for her but I will only go if I feel the conviction. God bless you all for your beautiful testimonies

Hi, I don’t think that Head covering and modesty is not an issue for those with low self love . It’s actually the opposite.
      Just saying

I have listened to this video many times. So affirming in my feelings of wanting to be modest as long as I can remember. It took me till in my late 40’s to know what that truly means. Now in my late 60’s I am glad for that understanding.
