I waited for this movie... I waited to watch this review... And unfortunately, I agree with mostly everything stated 😭
I miss the story sequence of having the movie start where the last one ended. I also miss seeing how John got to each location. He was literally the boogeyman just appearing at people's doors.
I wish that some of the characters that we had in the 2nd and 3rd films returned for the 4th. I feel it would've made the film more well-rounded. Especially since there were a lot of new characters (it felt like key info was missing about their history with John.
I love the homage they paid to "The Warriors" (the ultimate chase down movie). The radio announcer was on point (who is she?! 😄). I just wish they made that the second act of the film leading into the third with the "showdown.".

The John Wick movie manages to convey the pain that the characters feel very well. In fact, it's possible to feel the impact of the bullets, the shootouts in the cars, and the jumps from the buildings. All of this is very well done. In addition, of course, there is all the beauty that exists in the movie's visuals, all the care and elegance that the director brings onto the screen - and all of this becomes even more apparent when you see the care taken in portraying a message through the beauty of a sunrise. I posted my review of the movie today and it's amazing! Come and learn more about the fourth film involving the beloved Keanu Reeves!

My next door neighbor looks a lot like Killa[Scott Adkins].
I went to go see this movie at my local Cinemark 22 at the last showing which was 9:20pm-12:15am, with my wife[to celebrate her bday that was on April Fools Day] and our 3 children,…..
when I saw Killa, I immediately turned to my oldest daughter[14yrs old] & I told her,” Doesn’t Killa look like our Mexican grandpa next door neighbor with the gold teeth?!!?”
She laughed so LOUD that I LOL’d, she then passed the joke down to my baby girl[11yrs old, whose personality, humor etc. is so similar to mine] & my daughter said out loud, “OMG DADDY HE DOES, THE GOLD TEETH & EVERYTHiNG”.
The 3 of US laughed so loud, I’m truly grateful that the people sitting next to me were teenagers who weren’t angry about our laughter, they were cracking up laughing just as much as we were, one of their friends was SLEEP & SNORiNG 😂
[thinking to myself: bro your falling asleep on a John Wick movie🧐]
I guess when you need to nap you need to nap
I did the same thing to my wife, kids & niece when we went to go see Finding Dory at the Cinemark in Las Vegas the day it came out, so touché to the brotha that was napping during JW4.
A little name biased here, I enjoyed hearing my name[Winston💪🏿] in a movie.😂
I’ve seen every John Wick film when they all debuted, so I’m heavily connected to this franchise & this 4th one ended the John Wick Saga PERFECTLY.

This was originally going to be 2 movies, 4&5 filmed back to back. Then they decided to make one great movie instead of two but the 3 hours 45 minutes runtime was cut down to 2 hours 50 minutes. Instead of two shorter but more fleshed out movies that could be digested we got one bloated but disjointed tedium. Shouldve been 2 movies with better connecting scenes.

John Wick is a comic book/cartoon, particularly anime, come to life. Limited wording and focus on fight scenes is why most love these films, also Keanu's acting skills aren't the best, so it works double time✔️🌟
They definitely did a shout out to Warriors with the radio dj calling everyone out to kill John Wick, certain scenes of the movie also gave me Bad Boys vibes.
Laurence Fishburne was in the movie as John Wick is Neo in an alternate universe, I thought it was funny they had Wick dress up as Agent Smith for his last fighting scenes 😂 I also knew he didn't really die as John Wick/Neo plays the role of the Christ or Jesus hence why he has the "Jesus look," much like the guy you mentioned in the 65 movie, I haven't seen that movie but I have a feeling he plays the same Jesus role as well. Winston reprises his role of Yahweh which he plays in American Gods- there were scenes, especially the one where he presents the Marchese with the dual, that gave shout outs to that. The Marchese, Bill Skarsgard, reprises his role of Pennywise as he was a straight up clown in this whole movie 😂
RIP to Lance Riddick who ironically died on my birthday 💚

The movie was beautiful to look at and the fighting was well done, but it wasn't good in terms of plot and character development. I expect fans of these type of mindless action movies to like it but how it got a 95% on rotten tomatoes from critics I don't understand.
Only in action movies can the lead protagonist get away with such bad acting. Just one liners delivered with the talent of an early 2000 AI text to speech voice. No emotion, no depth to the main character at all.
There was no point to the movie, no lesson to be learned. Just three hours of killing people.

Felt like this movie improved on #2 and #3 by (1) having compelling supporting characters (The Tracker, Donnie Yen, Japanese manager and daughter, etc; (2) a clear villain / stakes; (3) reduced “lore” building secret council dead weight scenes; (4) added much more tension to the action sequences, didn’t feel like people just running at Keanu Reeves to get killed; #3 by comparison felt like a video game / fantasy camp for Reeves; and finally (5) has a definite ending; whereas in #3 Reeves starts and ends the movie in the exact same situation.

I feel like you guys have missed a lot of points about John Wick and it’s reasoning for being this long in length, in two major instances.
    1. The reason why The Bowery King is in this movie is because he’s also in a war against the high table. He was heavily injured during the assault on his compound by the adjudicator in the third film, and wants a war with them the same as John. Of course he was going to be in this movie. Because he’s gonna be helping John get the assets he needs to help him in the war against the high table.
    2. For a 2 hour 49 minute runtime, the movie is supposed to be an action film foremost. 1,2, and 3 gave you all the emotional investment you needed in understanding Johns character and how he feels. Especially the first one. The Raid 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road are both similar in that regard. They both are certified action flicks that don’t require a lot of acting by the actors at hand, and that’s the point. Your not here watching a drama film. Your here to watch a bunch of assassins trying to kill each other in a universe that’s full of them. With bulletproof vests.
