In case you're wondering why there are so many references of Dororo in this anime:
Both Dororo and Black Jack were created by Osamu Tezuka, who had something called "Star System". This system consist basically in all the characters of his mangas are actors, so you can see a same character in differents works of him, sometimes with another name and personality.
The creators of "Young Black Jack" kept this system in their manga, (This guy for example 6:10 appears in Astro Boy too), but the reason why they made an entire arc honoring Dororo, it's probably because it's the manga made by Tezuka that has more simmilarities with the original Black Jack
OMG I NEVER KNEW THAT! I know that they were both created by the same artist but that system? Wow!
So that's like Avengers: Endgame where at the end they brought up all the characters to fight with Thanos's army who were from various other marvel series (like how they included Ant Man, Spider man, Ant woman etc.) It's similar to that right?? Correct me if I'm wrong...
@@devashrijoshi9079 I’m gonna put an example with a real actor like… Harrison Ford. He played both Indiana Jones and Han Solo, and you can notice that it's the same actor playing them, but they are characters that do not have any relation to each other.
So, this “Hyakki” from Young Black Jack is not Hyakkimaru at all. He doesn’t even have the same personality, motivations or skills.
In other words, it’s just the same design.
Btw, there’s a movie called “The last mystery of the 20th century” in which appears some Tezuka’s characters like themselves and solve a crime (I mean, Astro Boy is actually a robot, Black Jack is actually a surgeon, etc). Sadly, Hyakkimaru and Dororo just appear in the background at the end

The arc is a must-watch for fans of Dororo. It's quite unintentionally hilarious. Takara (Tahomaru) is so comically evil in this version and I love it.
So this is what happens when the Dororo characters are reincarnated into the modern day? Hya becomes a doctor with a vengeance. Go figure.

I watched this series a few years ago, and now watching Dororo, this is such a TRIP! I love Osamu Tezuka's system of reusing and re-purposing characters! For us it's like Tsubasa Chronicles where we are so aware of the alternate lives characters live in different dimensions!
Clamp are big fans of Go Nagai and Masami Kurumada and both were inspired by Osamu Tezuka and used the star system. Tsubasa Chronicles is strongly inspired by Violence Jack and arguably some Saint Seiya. It's funny how these things work

This is called Tezuka Star System in which Tezuka reuses all of his characters from different anime/manga to another. It's like what Christopher Nolan is doing to his stars from all of his movies. Sharaku has, I believe, the most used character in his works. He has appeared on his own series, astroboy and blackjack. Try watching black jack tv, you'll see a lot of characters being used. 😂
I think his most used character must be Shunsaku Ban, Acetylene Lamp or Rock. I see them in his works all the time xD

Young Black Jack introduced me to the world of Tezuka and I read "Dororo" manga as soon as I finished reading "Black Jack" a few years ago, so the remake anime of "Dororo" made me really happy that more people discovered this amazing series. Thank you for making this video!
