Please pray for my dad, servant of God, Paul who died suddenly of a chronic illness he was battling for over a year. He was 52 years old and being kept alive on meds in ICU. He was a catechumen but given an emergency Orthodox baptism 12 hours before he died. Despite the hope of glory, I am struggling with grief and guilt in the decision to cut off his meds and let him pass naturally.
The Lord is taking care of your father now, brother! Let us pray for Paul!
Memory eternal. I will pray for him.
I will pray for you both.
He died in Our Lord cleansed of his sins by Holy Baptism. He lives forever with Christ. Ask him to pray for me, and for you.
He lived long enough to be baptized and you allowed him to die with dignity and minimal suffering. You did the perfect thing for him. May God bless Paul's soul and may the Holy Spirit guide you through this period of morning.
Orthodoxy is growing in the west. This is a fact.
It is for sure. In Belgium in the province of Antwerpen ( 1 out of 10 provinces btw) we just surpassed 10.000 members in the Romanian Orthodox Church alone.
And that is just one province and only one Orthodox church.
Whilst Belgium is still very secular/ satanic/ muslim, Orthodoxy is growing rapidly and it will continue to do so.

Though I think most people think the idea of US Christian Monarchy is both dumb and never going to happen nor want it and rightfully so even in the Orthodox population. I do think in the coming decades we will see a strong and very noticeable part of the US population subscribe to Orthodox Christianity in the future in our life time.
I'm looking at this from a person who let's say is in general is a Cultural Christian but not someone who follows it just understand it's needed.
I can't find a excuse by in large generally speaking for the Catholics right now how they don't react to call out their own when it's needed and Protestants who either accepted wokeness or just general cringe and not accepting traditionalism to said culture. Both how I can see are objectively weak where I might not always agree with things coming from the Orthodox camp and with the people in them I at the very least have to respect for most of them just for the simple fact they aren't afraid to speak what they feel and believe and value traditions and history of a culture they are apart of or wish it to be.
I converted last year and am about to undergo my catechumen ceremony.

I'm a greek and it's my first time hearing orthodox psalms in english and it's beautiful! So glad to see the seeds of orthodoxy growing in the west. Glory to Jesus brothers!
Although I am of the Baptist denomination, it is a shame that we do not have many Psalms being sung in English. It is one reason why I am seeking to learn Latin and Greek (I have yet to decide on whether to learn Koine or Attic Greek, or both). I love to hear the Psalms of the Old Testament being sung. May God receive all glory, and may God continue to bless you and your nation.
@draen13 I live in the US, and every Orthodox Church, Greek, Serbian, or Russian, both sing in English most of the time.. So, yes.

You can join an Eastern Rite within the Roman Catholic Church. That way you get the beautiful liturgy and tradition without being schismatic.

For real, me too. Literally a hundred times. We really need more in that genre. There is another rendering of the same piece done by a southern Orthodox Church, if you haven't heard it. But I still think the original is better. Absolutely sublime stuff.

The last hope for Christianity to flourish and remain true to the teachings of Christ is Orthodox Christianity. Persecuted for centuries it still burns brightly, glorifying Christ Jesus in His Church, a light that shines, refusing to die for truth can never be extinguished.
The flame of continuity is indeed important for preserving a proper framework for future generations to abide in. We must also not neglect to recognize our kinship across the whole sphere of Christ with others as we continue. We're all a big family, those of us who still truly follow Christ.
(Now, before anyone gets a bad taste in their mouth, I am _not_ talking about any institutions such as Catholicism, or umbrellas like "Protestant," but rather, all of us Christians on an individual basis have demonstrated that they have been grafted into the body of Christ. I point to Torch of Christ Ministries or The Witness and the work they've done as good examples of what I mean. Good trees bear good fruit, and these people have borne good fruit. These are people who truly live for Christ and are valuable within the Kingdom. Recognize your brothers, and recognize who your true enemies are. I don't call for denominational unity at all; I call for us to water the right seeds. (That is, stop looking for ways to commence fruitless infighting, and instead look for examples of righteousness in the Body of Christ to uplift.)

I'm an American protestant, but I love Orthodoxy, and I would celebrate its success in America. Far more respect and reverence towards God than most churches here. No. The founding of this country is very similar to how the Orthodox Church is set up. Having a monarch would be more akin to converting to Roman Catholicism. It is far easier for Satan to corrupt the mind of a single man which is very evident in the Pope today. A monarch in America would absolutely abuse his power in do time. Besides, thus country was founded on Judeo-Christian law which is why the law written in the book of Exodus can be implemented into modern society. This country needs Christians to stand up for themselves, say no to those who abuse power, and they need to defend life and their own on the line for the sake of others. That means we need to stop comprising away our values and rights and we need to recognize that sometimes conflict has to occur in order to prevent mass violence.

My wife and I became Catecumens a few months back. Since that time we have gained another dozen catecumens including a non denominational pastor and we just made a former Protestant pastor into a sub deacon. Yes Orthodoxy is growing. Orthodoxy, the correct way and path
