Those keys sure looked like handcuff keys to me! You draw that pin pointer like a pistol from the Old West days.😁 Great finds! Keep those videos coming, because your fans (especially me) love ‘em.
Hey Chigg - Your knowledge of all things Civil War, etc, like a curry comb for gosh sakes is just wonderful. And those keys. One can only imagine what they went to. I imagine a battle occurred at that spot with all the musket balls you found. It is imagination fodder for sure. And I think about all of your followers sitting in our easy chairs enjoying your finds while 150 + years ago soldiers were fighting for their lives at that very spot. Thank you for sharing!
Chugg. I can hear your heart pounding! but your playing it cool, not show your excitement to much. I’m jumping up and down off the couch every time you pull some thing up , I can’t contain myself ! great find’s today. Great day!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love your videos, mate. They really are brilliant. It's really great to be able to have a look (with a little imagination) of a day in the life of a possible civil war soldier, or more, from across the pond. Good luck buddy
@@aquachigger I’m in Utah. The only creek within miles has about a teaspoon of water in it. Not that it would matter-it’s all fenced off by field owners.
I believe the Post pieces you found with the square pieces on the ends of the post are Civil war Travel chests rivits, that held together the sides of the top and the bottom of the chest together through leather straps that would protect the edges of the chest. And finding all those in one hole with the leather strap makes sense of the wood had broken away over time, the chests would not have been very large but very strurdy... My great grandfather had one of those chests from the Conferderate side of the Civil War, ususally they would carry small valubles and personal trinkets from an calvalry officer or Artillery officer...
Chig. Think about where that river was during the CW. Are u able to detect a lil higher on the bank ?? Or perhaps right at the edge of the water. I’m so excited for you!!!! Yahooooooo. Thank you for the great video.
Hey Chigg. Do the small bolt and faster pieces have a screw slot on the round end. And do the flat square ends have small bent in corners toward the round ends? I think they were used after a hole was drilled in the wood they were placed on the inside and then a screw attached what you needed to the outside of the box. The small dog ears on the flat side dug into the wood keeping it from turning
I have a good idea for a video. Since it looks like you never sell your relics over the years, you should do a video of things that are Civil War relics but don't look like it. Things that people would believe are newer or junk that are actually Civil War relics. Over the years I've seen a few things that I would've actually thought were modern but were Civil War related. Or that they were just some type of junk. I don't know, that would be kind of a cool video.
I remember my first find. A silver Franklin Half. That was in I think about 1983. A guy at work was bringing in all these beautiful old coins. I asked him how he got them. He told me and then said he knew a guy selling a Whites. I can't remember the model but you had to strap it to your waist. It pin pointed perfect.
what a great day on the river! Today's find could teach a whole history class. Btw I would watch "Beau's War Stories" if you made them. Just sittin with your collection and telling early American war stories. something to think about, for when the weather decides to be your enemy
6:08 whoa, you know, i've been detecting with friends for almost 15 years now... i've never found more than one key. This is also the first time i've seen two keys found with detecting. :)) I guess it's just one of those things that rarely get dropped. I've found locks, i've found broken keys, i've even found a skeleton key fused to a lump of metal that used to be a door lock once, but never two keys attached. Nice!
That’s amazing how them mini-balls and round balls that’s just laying there and no telling how many people have just walked by them not a clue they were laying there.
