Donna and Fran, I really enjoy your tutorials. I am a senior citizen, and a visual person. Your instructions are easy to follow, both on u tube, and in your books. Your books are the best I have seen for trying to follow instructions. I also enjoy the way you both honor each other when talking. Some instructors are competitive, and it makes me uncomfortable to watch. You guys are not like that, and it gives me a peaceful feeling to watch you guys interact. Great videos! I learn so much from them. Bless you both!
Your tutorials with the patterns and pieces are terrific. It really helps those of us that are very visual. Really loved this video as I thoroughly enjoy them all. Frans quilt is really beautiful. I am very happy you both are doing the videos, both your personalities add a lot to the videos and Fran never stops smiling !!!!
I just wanted to let you know that I'm using the Roman Holiday and Cornerplay patterns to produce a lot of quilts in a short amount of time for charity quilts! Thanks for those time saving patterns!!!
Great presentations today Donna and fran, I really like the fabric floral promenade. It's so pretty, but I would like to see what the backing fabric would be in your choice.(On this quilt) Along with this presentations and others. That way we can see a full completed quilt would look like. top and bottom. Maybe future episodes you can show three yard pieces along with backing fabric a complete package.
I love your tutorials Love the relationship ya'all share It is such fun to watch you and your interaction with each other Thank you so much for the work you do. I have fie of your books so far and love making the quilts I believe I am addicted
I loved the "Mum's the Word" Fabric kit, but for me I would of brought more of the colors out. Like on the black and white I think a pink would of been nice too. Who knows, maybe it's me @ 4 in the morning without coffee. Great job on showing us the pieces and parts and how easy they are to make the blocks.
Ladies, could I make a comment? I liked watching a recently video that I think Fran showed how the starting of a block as to what the starting of the quilt would look like. I believe( and I could wrong)the video came from a few ladies who had written in on fabrics that they were looking for to complete their quilts.
Hi Sandra, that sounds like it would be one of our videos from Fran's Matchmaker series. I'll put the link to all of those videos here in the hopes that the right one will be there - ruclips.net/video/v5vo-KTRpf0/видео.html
I have your book and the page for Lightening was “marked” for me to make - I just got some fabrics from a friend that will be perfect for this in the largest size - I appreciate your tutorial because I am dyslexic and sometimes even the easiest patterns can confuse me - this one is fantastic!
Absoulutley love your choice of fBr8cs in these quilts today!! Such talent in creating, chose ing patterns, and designing quilt patterns. I get so excited when I get notification of a new showing, wish I could get them all!!! Keep up with the best of the best girls!!!
Hi Satrena! Not all of our patterns are "one block" but many of them are or only include a few blocks. Due to the way our patterns are designed, all of our quilts go together quickly!
I love, love your videos and books! I just finished one of your patterns and used Dolphin print as the main fabric. I have SO much flannel fabric and was wondering if it would be a good idea to use some of it for your three yard quilts instead of a cotton? Just wondering how well it would sew cut up into smaller pieces instead of bigger ones, fraying, etc. It would make cozy quilts!
Hi Cynthia! Yes, you can use flannel to make 3-yard quilts. Sounds super cozy! Flannel also makes a great backing for the quilts as well. Someone at the office regularly uses it as backing to add extra warmth and softness! - Fran.
Hi Anne, we also share in the frustration with the cost of postage outside of the US, but luckily we offer all of our books as digital downloads that you can get right away without the cost of shipping or the wait time! You can print at home or use with your digital device. You can find all of our digital books here - www.fabriccafe.com/books-digital-downloadable-s/2012.htm
Hi Nickie! You can use our "find a shop" feature to see if there is a shop near you that carries our book - www.fabriccafe.com/articles.asp?ID=280 . Otherwise, you can purchase any of our books as downloadable files that you can print at home or have printed for you! Hope that helps! 😊
In this video, you mention your tutorial collection on you tube. I have been all over you tube and cannot find any videos titled “tutorial collection “.
Hi Barbara! If you go to our channel and select "Playlist" we have a couple playlist about Quilt blocks and "tips & tricks." That's what Donna was referring to in the video. Hope that helps!
@@FabricCafe Thanks for your reply…I didn’t find anything under “playlist”, but I found other videos on your websites. After 3 quilts, I have your cutting instructions down Pat. I don’t like the narrow binding…it is just too fiddly…I am back to 2 1/4”.
Hi Keressa! Yes, Donna & Fran are mother and daughter, Donna's son John also is apart of the team. You can find him on some of our other videos 😊 Hope you enjoyed the show!
Glad you like the patterns, Caryn! We like to show the block steps and renderings of what the quilt will look like when finished, all the further instruction on can be found in the patterns. Thanks for watching!
I was thinking of making the moda grunge quilt but the quilt calls for jelly roll fabric and I have 12 different fat quarters I want to use from my stash and the pattern called for a bunch of 2 1/2" squares and Bunch of 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles so how much 2 1/2" squares do I need to cut from each of the 12 fat quarters I have and how much 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles do I need to cut from each of the 12 fat quarters I have so if someone can let me know this I would appreciate it and if some can let me know what the finished size would be since I’m using fat quarter rather then a jelly roll I would appreciate it and I will include a link down below to the free pattern so someone can help me and if someone wants to rewrite me the pattern so I know exactly how to cut my 12 fat quarters rather than the Jelly roll the pattern calls for I would gladly appreciate it Thanks 🙏 www.modafabrics.com/webfiles/fp_grunge.pdf

Thank you!
I believe that mums would look great with a copper- ish for #3😇would it work??
It would definitely bring out the copper tones in the #1 for sure!
Are all the patterns in the books "One Block"? I love the idea. I've never made a quilt before and want to.

I would like to see plaids and stripes in some videos. Thanks.
I'm thinking that you could use black fabric rather than the turquoise in the second quilt.
Luv the toots...I love the mum fabric ...might order it by its self. But in the kit..the turquoise gets lost...not enough contrast for me
What to buy books but thay are changing more than the book for postage Australia.
