It seems like yesterday that the Celtics drafted Brown and Tatum. I have to admit that I was upset when they traded Marcus Smart. I thought "What are they getting Porzingus for? This is going to come back to haunt them." Since I'm confessing to having 20/20 hindsight, I was also mad that the a Celtics didn't get the #1 overall pick, which was Greg Oden, who was drafted by Portland and had to retire after only a few seasons.
BRAD STEVENS HAS BEEN BUILDING THIS FOR YEARS!!! This was GREAT BASKETBALL AND GREAT COACHING AND ALSO A GREAT FRONT OFFICE!!! They are the SPURS of the EAST
Al Horford is not getting a big contract. He's old and he might retire, so the Celtics really don't have to worry about what he's gonna do. Personally, I'd like to see him retire on top, and the Celtics go put and draft a big. As for White and Tatum: they're both getting contracts. Celts are definitely giving Tatum a Super-Max, and White will get around 30 mil.
It’s because Doncic and Irving play a flashy style that attracts eyeballs. The Celtics on the other hand have an ensemble, where everyone contributes and nobody consistently dominates every game. Unfortunately, that isn’t as sexy to the media, which is why they kept propping up the Mavericks but knocking down the Celtics.
There was little to this roster which required that the NBA "let" it happen. They have four players who are all the fourth or fifth players on a starting line-up. The league does not blink when fourth or fifth players get traded. The Celtics win because one of those four decides to be the second or third player on the team for that game. The key to the Celtics, and the Nuggets, is that both drafted their best two players, allowing trade resources to be used for players in the fourth or fifth slots.
More accurately, the Celtics have 2 players who could be clear number 1s on most NBA rosters and then 3 guys who are number 2/3s on most rosters, and then a future HOFer on the bench alongside some sharpshooters who can play good hustle D

Few things: 1. Tatum really came from the same Nets trade, since the #1 pick that Boston traded with Philly was one of the Nets picks. 2. Derrick White wasn't really 'underrated' during his San Antonio tenure. He was a backup/fringe-starter and that was about right for where he was. White has since grown and improved significantly. He's also in a better spot as Boston usually deploys him in a more natural SG spot as opposed to San Antonio which sometimes deployed him as a PG. 3. Agree that Stevens played a massive role, but Ainge also deserves a lot of credit. Outside of fleecing the Nets, Ainge played a huge role in ensuring that the baton was passed to Stevens. A lot of teams would have crashed and burned if they lost a GM and two HC's as fast as Boston did. Boston got better because Ainge ensured that the new GM was someone that shared his vision and understanding of the team, meaning there was no change in course. Stevens kept the same concept that Ainge was trying for, but improved it by bringing in more spacing bigs and a true PG to tie the Jays together. Actually, I'm pretty sure Stevens saw the need for a true PG from his time coaching the Jays. I've said for years that the Jays can play together, but they need that true PG, a floor general, to tie them together. Jrue was really that missing piece, combined with Tatum taking a step forward as a facilitator. This is something that I'm sure the ball-movement-oriented Brad Stevens had seen while coaching and is a big reason that he took steps to try and address it.
This has always been the Celtics history. They got Bob Cousy through a dispersal draft, when a team failed. They got Bill Russell via trade with the St. Louis Hawks, who were the best team in the league at the time. They got Robert Parish and the pick with which they took Kevin McHale for 2 first rounders, who ended up being a couple of stiffs. Then there was the trade when they got Garnett and Allen. They haven’t ever been able to lure top free agents, but Red Auerbach, Danny Ainge and now Brad Stevens have been able to pull of some great deals.

white hope is insane, and he had every right to talk ish against those minnesota degenerates, they were talking ish at first, also this loss doesn't mean nothing, Luka clear was and will always be by far the best player in the series, boston won cus they had an ultra stacked team that's it
Remember Celtics had to let Paul Pierce go and trade up Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to get first round picks. It's about thinking about the future and letting go of pieces that didn't work in process.
Good trades and desperation from Celtics players that realise that the team was probably gonna blow up right away or very soon if a banner wasn’t hung this time and they’ll be out of the NBA.
I see it all the time when people complain about Jordan vs Lebron and that Jordans Bulls were stacked and thats why Lebron hasn't surpassed him. I cant wait to see in the future what people say about THIS stacked team.
Lechoke has had stacked teams most his career. MJ played in an expansion era. A sick old magic nearly beat him with a team that was a shadow of showtime. And he never really ever got on top of larry bird. A broken, slow pain wracked larry bird dominated the 'goat'. This team was part built on players OTHER TEAMS DIDNT WANT. They drafted well. They did good deals for players whos teams clearly unvalued. Then they played the lost art of teamwork. Like Bird. Like Magic.
Got to say I can see the bias here. Jalen Brown was the eastern conference finals MVP and the finals MVP, so why am I seeing a lot of Tatum shots like he was leading the team? One would think Jalen deserves to be in those spots where I keep seeing Tatum. I mean I could at least understand if it was a 50/50 between them both because they are the leaders on the team but it’s not even that. Seems like someone has been influenced by the narrative about who Boston should have got rid of when they were trying to break up this amazing duo.
@@grsafran take the stick out your ass, nobody said Tatum is bad, address my points made. The refs totally bailed them out in game 4 vs the Cavs when they were without Mitchell. That series would have been 2-2. Maybe Mitchell would have never returned but if he did the Celtics could have easily been upset. Something seems very fishy to me how the refs coddled them that game. The NBA did not want the Celtics to get upset by the Cavs at all costs. It is hard for me to respect the Celtics championship when I see bs like that.
Celtics aren't even in the running for deepest roster of all-time. They went 8 deep and to some extent six deep and two marginal rotation players. When teams lack that much depth, they are often an injury or two away from losing. And it's good they didn't have to face the Nuggets without a healthy KP. That would've been a gentleman's sweep by Denver, who basically weren't there due to their own lack of depth.
wouldve couldve shouldve The Nugguts shouldve handled business being up 20 in gm 7 against the Wolves then if they wouldve gentlemen sweep the celtics. That series alone told me the nuggets bench wasnt good enough to beat the Celtics if Murray or MPJ wasnt giving you anything
There's no finessing in these trades, the teams both want something and they have to give the best offer to get that... Now the Nets just finessed the Knicks 5 first and 2 seconds for Bridges lol that's a robbery.
Al isn't going anywhere. He will take a pay cut to stay in Boston or he will retire. Only on a championship ready team would he leave for more money, and I can't see any other team that needs an Al Horford.
Dawg KP got extended last summer immediately the only player I guess in question of will he hit free agency is D white and obviously Tatum is gonna get he’s money other than that this team is locked in for a few years they could become a dynasty if the Celtics continue to re up correctly with role players !!! That would be like Oklahoma City claiming 1979 title that the Seattle Supersonics won; It's patently absurd.
LAKERS ONLY HAVE 12 TITLES. PERIOD.
That's really petty. And as a Celtics fan, I love that narrative lol.
Y'all won when there was 8 teams in the league with 9 HOFers tf😂
Bro you realize the La lakers and the Minneapolis lakers are the same org dumbass shiting on this kid and you don’t even do research before blurting stupid shit out it don’t matter if u think they only have 12 wins they just changed owners they have 17 as a organization PERIOD
7:05 KP was extended, Tatum’s about to be extended, Al already said he’s coming back, there’s not a chance on earth Brad and Wyk are letting D White go anywhere - he’ll be extended too. Granted, it can’t last more than 2-3 years with all that money, and I wouldn’t be stunned to see them move on from like a KP after a couple years… don’t care right now though. Time to enjoy this championship!
If Kristaps Porzingis stay healthy next season & consistent 2025 playoffs Boston big chance get #19 banner next season 💯 no doubts 💪🔥💪
From "Why the Mavs will win 2024 Finals" to "How the Celtics got away with robbery" 😂 proves you are ultimate bandwagoner and have no idea what you are talking about
You gotta watch the Mavs video, I gave valid reasons, the Celtics were just the better team and deserved the win. I was wrong about my prediction.
The leprechaun played the rest of the league like a fiddle 🎻
It’s the spirit of Red.
the 2024 celtics are the 4th best team in the 21st century, only reason why im not saying #3 is the lack of comp but theyre going back to back so no worries
Boston Celtics 2024 NBA WORLD CHAMPION 🏆
FMVP: Jaylen Brown
Jaylen Brown ENTER his 1st YEAR PRIMES 💪🔥💪
good video up until you said Al would want more money. He only got 1 year left brah
He could sign one more year for more money. 🤷
Spurs had to trade White to tank for picks, which eventually included Wemby. More GMs should look to tanking teams for value.
Oh most definitely.
Robbery? They have been developing for years and they deserve it! You call it Robbery when these players are Star players from other teams who forced themselves to do everything so that they will get traded.
Just the titling really, championship is deserved.
They did it again last night in the NBA draft, picking Baylor Scheierman.
The owner said they are keeping the whole roster.
Horford signed for additional 2 years I think
I think Horford and White are expiring in the next year. And Tatum’s has a bit until a new contract, but I bet they are already negotiating.
Horford is already extended. White is the one who needs extension. That is, IF HE ACCEPTS.
People act like teams was kicking down doors for Holiday, Porzinguis, or White. Now people want to say they deep.
Yes finally someone mentioned it.
I mean this roster always has been deep, people are just realizing because they won. I think I mentioned it in a few months ago. Good point tho.
This should be a very humbling experience for the white hope Luka. All that ish he was talking against Minnesota
white hope is insane, and he had every right to talk ish against those minnesota degenerates, they were talking ish at first, also this loss doesn't mean nothing, Luka clear was and will always be by far the best player in the series, boston won cus they had an ultra stacked team that's it
Remember Celtics had to let Paul Pierce go and trade up Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to get first round picks. It's about thinking about the future and letting go of pieces that didn't work in process.
Now im sorry but would any player rather win more champinships than get more money?
People are greedy brotha, idk.
Yussssss 20k
Good trades and desperation from Celtics players that realise that the team was probably gonna blow up right away or very soon if a banner wasn’t hung this time and they’ll be out of the NBA.
Horford near 40yo, he’s seeking retirement not a larger contract.
The Js would not go well with any color other than green.
Like Bird. Like Magic.
Horford to seek a larger contract? He's gonna be like 39 man. 😅😅😅😅. Great video but that made no sense
My fear now is how they will match up Timberwolves or Denver next year. I bet Wolves and Denver will upgrade becoz they are already at the gates.
I don’t care what anybody says, the 2024 Celtics are the best team of all time
Got to say I can see the bias here.
I agree, all Tatum did during these playoffs was LEAD the team in SCORING, REBOUND, STEALs and ASSISTS, man what a loser.
@@grsafran take the stick out your ass, nobody said Tatum is bad, address my points made. When was the last time you saw ANY video about a championship team and the MVP of that finals is not featured in the video but the runner up is? That’s the point of my comment. If you can’t grasp that then I can’t help you.
Porzingis already resigned. Tatum is getting the super max. Only player not signed past 2025 is Derek white. I think he takes a discount to stay
Who knows, maybe 🤷
You was cooking until you said this team wasnt gonna stay together for long.
Al isnt going anywhere. He already took more money leaving the celtics the first time. At his stage, its all about retiring a celtics hoping to win another chip
Derrick White and Tatum are already getting their extension worked out in the offseason
Brown new contract starts next season
KP already signed his extension
Jrue just got his extension
Pritchard just got his new extension
other than Hauser, this team will be intact for the next 3-4 years
The refs totally bailed them out in game 4 vs the Cavs when they were without Mitchell.
You see what you want to see. Like billions of other a holes. Good for you.
I wish Denver would have made it.
wouldve couldve shouldve The Nugguts shouldve handled business being up 20 in gm 7 against the Wolves then if they wouldve gentlemen sweep the celtics. That series alone told me the nuggets bench wasnt good enough to beat the Celtics if Murray or MPJ wasnt giving you anything
@@SeunAdekoya Nuggets would've beat KP-less Celtics. Jokic would've dominated. You're in denial if you think otherwise.
@@FavreianVengeanceI guess we’ll never know 🤷🏾♂️🥱
They already all re signed
There's no finessing in these trades, the teams both want something and they have to give the best offer to get that... Now the Nets just finessed the Knicks 5 first and 2 seconds for Bridges lol that's a robbery.
I think some of these trades the Celtics sorta finessed, but the Nets got the get back by trading Bridges for sure.
Al isn't going anywhere. He will take a pay cut to stay in Boston or he will retire. Only on a championship ready team would he leave for more money, and I can't see any other team that needs an Al Horford.
You never know.
Horford is gonna retire after next year not chase a new contract
So for this season it was worth the high risk high reward, but going forward will KP be able to stay on the court ? 🤔
It’s definitely hard as a 7 footer, but you could only hope he stay healthy.
Dawg KP got extended last summer immediately the only player I guess in question of will he hit free agency is D white and obviously Tatum is gonna get he’s money other than that this team is locked in for a few years they could become a dynasty if the Celtics continue to re up correctly with role players !!! How did the nba let it happen if u look at the moves in dept Celtics still dint go out there and get a super duper star holiday was pretty much a after thought after the lillard trade and than KP the league simply thought he was wasted cause he was putting up great numbers on a bad team aka wizards and than d white it was just one of those deals where we got him early enough he was a sleeper In the league to simply put it when we went after the fancy names in the past aka kyrie Hayward it backfired so brad to a diffrent rout he kinda looked at who are guys that would complement jt and JB the best he dint go out there to grab a superstar it was really guys that are considered after thoughts or sleepers or washed !!!
A lot went right up front for the Celtics. Skill and a bit of luck.
Tatum and white will resign and Al will probably retire when his contract ends
2:38. “The Blazers should have *taken* into account“ - not “should have _took_ into account.“ C’mon… you can do better than this.
Cry

Al horfird, at age 39 is going to demand more money? Are you ok in the head? Hes made almost 300 million in his career lmao. Hes still fetting 9.5 mil a year. How much money can a 39 year old center really demand lmao. Not much dude. If ANYTHING i bet you he takes a pay cut just to stay if he feels they can compete
The Celtics can keep them it’s called BIRD RIGHTS
Horford deserves more credit thank Porsinkguis and you didn't give him his credit. Another Horford hater.
Dis is missing me off.no competition. Jeee.all teams were just sending and letting the Celtics play. Don't be silly.maby you can go and be the one who plays against the Celtics
.
i think portland trade jrue to celtics on purpose..to get revenge to dame,,they gave jrue to boston to give bucks a good competition.😂😂😂😂
unfortunately bucks can't get pass thru 1st round
Dumb title
🤫☘️🍀💪🏿🏆
They didn't rob, they graduated. The Sons of Sir Wardell did it.
sons my ass, they'd shit all over steph if they saw him now
They didn’t play nobody
☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘
Wilbo don't hate because your hometown team sucks. Celtics are the champs, & that's the bottom muthafuckin line.
Bro I was not hating, it was just a title. 😭😭
@WilboHoops Yeah Yeah Yeah. Celtics fucka!
