      @@basketballreachI dont think cutting down the 3s will do Celtics any help. They are a shooting team and if you're gonna beat them in a 7 game...you will need to make them have a bad shooting night 4 out of 3 times(very much impossible). The only thing stoping this team is injuries to 3 of their 5 starters.

  • @williamcahill2462
    @williamcahill2462 Месяц назад +20

    Everyone is talking about the 3 pointers, which is certainly historic. But the 2 reasons the Celts dominate is their defense, and that they have 8 guys who can drive the lane. Driving the lane opens up the 3 pointers.

    • @josephrafferty6763
      @josephrafferty6763 28 дней назад +2

      Yep.
      1) Drive (with or without the help of a screen) to create the initial advantage and force rotations.
      2) hit the guy who’s now open due to the rotation to extend the advantage.
      3) if no close out, take open 3. If close out, drive past it to extend the advantage.
      Now they’re at your mercy. Basketball is easy when you have 5 guys who can shoot, handle the ball well enough to extend advantages, pass and defend.

    • @natepmusiclessons
      @natepmusiclessons 27 дней назад

      @@josephrafferty6763it's the talent of the shotmaking and that everyonr has a switchable skill set and they all do the same things well. The scheme you're describing is what Dallas wants to run thru Luka & Kyrie but they're always gonna be top-heavy. You gotta build that kinda team around guys who would make the national team & get benched rather than players who are the best in their country 😂

    • @ramzeezthamightygod
      @ramzeezthamightygod 12 дней назад

      @@josephrafferty6763 And the fact that basically all those those guys are respected as shooters is what opens up driving lanes. During last year’s playoffs, gafford and lively were stifling every other opponent when they drove, but Boston constantly forced them both out of the paint since they couldn’t afford to leave any celtic shooters alone on the perimeter, and as a result we got so many easy layups and dunks.
      It can turn into a bloodbath real quick, and nobody can figure out how to guard these lineups at all

    I have been saying this for 6 months. This Cs team is way more dangerous now because of the simple fact that they know how to win close games. They used to lose games they shouldn't have, blow huge leads and have melt downs. If you watch them now, its just different....They had a sizeable lead on the Cavs and it got close but not once did they give the lead up...They know how to "turn it on" for important stretches which is something they lacked until last year. They have matured as a unit which took a while because this team was super young but they kept it together for the last 6 years and made it work

  • @LaddFPF

    Tatum just understands how to win games. He is not a KD level shot maker, nor is he a Giannis level unstoppable force, but he’s so dedicated to making winning plays and contributing to a two way philosophy. And I believe he’s always been this way but the skills are more refined. With a better bench he could have two more finals trips so far, not saying he was ready to win yet but there’s a reason it’s always been hard to beat him in a series

    And what people don't seem to understand is that Brown is still playing under his standards and KP ain't even at 60% probably. Fully healthy Boston team ain't getting beaten in a 7 game series, simple as that. They are still the 2nd best team in the NBA at WORST without their all star level Center in KP, which is just crazy. And the most scary part about them is that if they go cold in a game, teams somehow still can't find a way to beat them (usually). Having a flame thrower in Pritchard off the bench who saved them a few times already and shoots 43% from 3 8 attemps is borderline unfair as well, especially since the team is already really good. But the rest of the bench is really good as well.
    If Porzingis can stay somewhat healthy Boston is repeating, no doubt about that.

    I know you said Kornet may not get playing time, however I think they'll want to limit Porzingis and Horford during the regular season, so look for them to be getting maybe 22-28 mins and Queda and Kornet getting a bit of time or giving them off nights here and there. It's good to keep those guys fresh, also they will be having a bunch of junk time basketball too. No need to risk Porzingis injury or running Horford into the ground when you can give Queda and Kornet minutes. It's an embarrassment of riches right now

    They have like 8 or 9 guys who can hit from beyond the arc, so teams always have to have bodies on the perimeter. But cheat on defense too much, and you got guys who can drive to the basket for an easy 2. This is a tough team to beat. The only way to beat them is to pray that you play perfect defense all night and out shoot them from the 3pt line as well. Tough task for any team.

  • @arguseyed9982

    Despite the result, Clippers defense did came through and held the Celtics to 21 and 27 points in the 1st and 3rd quarter (4th was pure garbage time but was 27 again). Thats an under 100 pace. That 2nd quarter 3pt flurry is an NBA record, it wont happen on a regular basis. And when you look at those 3s, only one or two were wide open, the rest were at least lightly contested.

    Haters are pointing out the Celtics 3 point shooting when in reality, GSW has been chucking 3’s and no one complained. You know for those who keep saying the three point shot is ruining the game the celtics are the best example to the opposite. Their games are so fun to watch and their ability to make basketball a true teams game where at any given night one of the guys is going to go off. But more importantly as you said shooting three is one aspect of them but how they use these three to create a game they can dominate with big and strong Tatum and brown. But also the way they have been defending and believing in their ability to win close games with clutch plays andostly correct plays from all their players( besides some shit Tatum pulls sometimes on turnovers). My point is. 3 points don't win games but if you use it properly like the celtics or warriors you can really create magic a d still give us those amazing moment when white and Pritchard save the ball on a rebound by passing back and forth while taking turns jumping out of court and then it ends I'm a dunk. You can do both shoot and play at the basket and have amazing fun moments for us. This idea that back in the day guys use to live above the rim is not always true we tend to remember highlights. Go back and watch a full game a playoff game and see how much role player sucked or were very limited to what they can do. Today you have an overlooked tiny player that can create his own magic

    The fluidity they play with, the ball movement, drive n kick/smart plays are a joy to watch… I’d think that anybody who actually loves basketball would enjoy watching the Celtics. What’s boring/awful to watch is the pistons chucking 37 threes to try and keep up like the other night😭

    You know what cracks me up… this Celtics by far are the best team in the league. It’s not even close, everyone is focused on the offense and 3pt shooting which is fair… if you go down the line all the way to the 3 players on the bench.. the 3pt efficiency is absolutely absurd. Now let’s talk about defense. You’ve got JT and JB who haven’t made all defensive teams but are absolute menaces on defense. Now ignore those 2… you have arguably the best defensive back court in the NBA. Jrue has 3 all nba defensive teams and d white which I am sorry should have been all D nba last year as the leading blocking guard in the NBA. Then you have a 7’3 guard in KP who is shown not only an offensive weapon but has rim protection that is severely underrated. Add insult to injury you got 39 year old horford who defies age and a scrappy defender in Pritchard who does give up. It’s just not even playing field for any other team and idc who they are.

    So tired of these nba players creating space with their non ball arm Such a bad example for our young kids trying to learn the game. Offense foul, call it as such. Loosing interest in LeBron ball.

    Hack a Celt
    I would like to see teams play extremely physical and slow down the game to a halt. Always keep 1 or 2 guys on the floor just for fouling. These 2 would storm the ball handler and reach-in, hand check, slap the hand, hold, pull the jersey, impede movement, push, trip - whatever it takes trying to steal the ball. How the math works? Refs will not call everything, and if you can get around 30 stops by doing this and have them shoot free throws every other possession, then you are looking at 130-140 free throws - or 110ish points with 80% FT%. Thats manageable. I believe these numbers are still generous, and refs would call even less fouls.
    If it actually works, the NBA will finally be forced to do something about the 3 point era, cause these games will be even more unwatchable.

      Hack a Celt? Against the top 3 team in FT%? Lol. Jrue, Pritch, and DWhite are 87+%FT shooters.

      Man I want to say some really nasty things about the lightskin dude S Curry but the woke youtube sensor bot will just delete it but he did ruin the game forever and it is boring as hell to watch these dudes just throwing 3s all game yuck.
