I can’t remember exactly how long ago it was when I saw my first Nordhavn but ever since I have been hooked on these boats - you are in good company here 🙌
Evn'n Johnno, you know me, i would dearly love to fall in love with these boats simply because their range and redundancy are second to none but......i still cannot come to terms with their interiors. All wood with a caravan look. Trust me, if ever i see one with an alternative interior, you will be the first to know.
Super Vid , thanks my friend 👍👍👍 , no discussion about the design , its really great made ! Pirate radio is a stunnig yacht , a eay catcher . Also the MTU's engine is a good choice for this ship .

Nothing easy about climbing aboard a boat with a ladder the only true easy way of getting back onto a boat like this is with the Transformer swim platform
Before I'd even consider a Nordhavn built much past 2007 or so, I'd want a full survey done by a qualified marine surveyor. After seeing the condition that Aurora (N120) was delivered, and all the deficiencies, best practice failures, and outright safety violations that Nordhavn's own surveyor found, I am very, very skittish on the brand. Especially for a GRP hull. That said, it looks beautiful though I'm not a fan of the master stateroom being on the bridge deck, I much prefer a sky lounge. Long trips are going to have everyone rubbing shoulders, and having extra space to distance from others would be worth its weight in gold.
@@SocietyMan The deficiencies shown on the videos that the surveyor created show something more than just "an edge case". A new boat had spaces and finish that looked like it was 10-15 years old and worked hard. There were serious issues and they don't just crop up in a one-off...Maybe Nordhavn has cleaned up their act and is operating in a fiscally responsible manner, but before I would spend any money, I'd want proof of what I'd be buying. Especially when a company like Bering is producing something of equal capability with the benefit of a steel hull, not GRP.
@@gavinmarshall9950 That's the site that really opened my eyes. It's a shame...I hope that their quality has returned, but I think it's telling that with the 120' market being somewhat popular, they haven't built another 120 since Aurora.
Ever since their big problems with the 120 Aurora and the way they treated the new owner, i don t trust them at all. Now basically in 2023, we don t hear of them anymore.
nice boat but the up keep and cost to run would be epic 100k a year. you'd have to be very social to get lots of value for your money off of these big boats
Hull is fiberglass. This means if a guest drops a cigarette she will burn down to the water line in ten minutes. No fiberglass hulled boat is a "world traveler." If you hit a semi submerged shipped container in the middle of the Atlantic, you probably wouldn't have time to get into the lifeboat before she went down.
@@idanceforpennies281 I think some were built in China; some may still be built there, but I thought they moved some production to Turkey, maybe for the small newer 41's. But yes, they are foreign made.

Nordhavn where some of the first yachts to get me into explorer and showed me a whole new world

Fingers crossed 🤞
I love Nordhavn's. Another great video - thank you!

I love your analogy! ❤️
At $6 million and thirteen years old it's a nice boat but the Bering 77 is just as capable and in my humble opinion far superior and cheaper.
And it's a steel hull and in my opinion got a better layout, ease of working in the mechanical room.
@@parlimage5050>> Why is a steel hull better? You have to have sacrificial zinc anodes for a steel boat, right? Is it just stronger?
This one has been for sale for a while, wonder what year is it and more importantly the engine hours on it ?
Very nice.
🙌
JJ, your next yacht 'Annie M' is a Nordhavn 60 is still for sale in scotland, a lottery win must be on the cards
and its got heating and VAT paid! awesome :-)
Maybe I should take a wee trip to Scotland? I love it up there 🏴
@@YachtBuoy she's a lovely looking N60
Love your tours!!
Thanks 🙌 I appreciate the feedback 👍
I really like the name.
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
🙌
You can't imagine a yacht under 100ft loa you'd rather..... BERING 77 ?
I would need to step foot on a Bering before I made my mind up lol
Her original name was Mystik Tide when she was build.
not true. Mystic Tide was Hull#3 with a Hot tub on deck.
Looks the part but I personally think low profile trawler / explorer yachts are the real deal.
Thanks for watching 🙌
You need to quote the range if you claim a vessel to be a world travelling explorer yacht. The Pacific is a big ocean to cross.
I agree - whenever the data re the range is published then I always include the data. But the listing for this boat did not include it.
5k miles at 8 knots cruise. Can cruise at 10.
Question... Nordhavn or Bering?!?
I have been aboard a Nordhavn but I haven’t been aboard a Bering, so it’s hard to make a comparison 🙃
Yay I'm a subscriber. (:

the 120 was a edge case, it doesnt represent the rest of the brand at all]

I have to agree.
Steel hull seems from my viewpoint a helluva lot better. Interior wise it's a matter of personal taste, but I prefer the Bering.
The attitude of management must go across all boats. Wouldn’t touch one after seeing nordharvenfacts!
Luckily I can’t afford one anyway.

I would say a arksen 85, 1.5 meter draft 7000 NM hard to beat
❤

it s an all around fiberglass boat ,made from molds, no steel hull nor aluminum structure here as a real explorer should be
So expensive for the boat like this 80 ft!!!
That's a lot of money for fiberglass.

And I've heard of customers suing Nordhaven over quality issues. Nordhavens are actually built in China BTW.
