I really liked this mans work in Bly Manor and his appearances with the Funhaus crew on youtube (it was then quite a shock when I first saw him in a dramatic role). He is very funny and seems passionate about the things he does which is always fun to watch. To then see him talk about warhammer all the time and it all coming together by him being in a game that I am super hyped for as a fan of boomer-shooters, and now HERE. Oh man. This is fun.
Interviews are a great topic to add to the list. It would be awesome if you could interview other painters, game designers, actors, and others in the hobby.
Its nuts how good he is from just a year or so of doing it. I honestly thought he had been painting for years on and off or something. I also used to paint in silence and I stopped once I thought about how weird it was haha.
Rahul somehow has always been in my nerdy life starting with iZombie then all his appearances at Funhaus and Bruce Greene’s streams, and now Boltgun is so crazy.
izombie was a really good show, one of those unexpected CW gems. Kinda thing that nexflix would cancel after 1 season in favour of something no one cares about.
The interview was awesome and Rahul is a fucking treasure but I especially appreciated the detailed painting breakdown because I literally just started painting Ultramarines in preparation for 10th Ed lol
Not weird at all. It's just a reflection to the effort and growth artist like yourself ,Sorastro, and others have contributed to the community. Congratulations!
This was a super fun interview and kind of reminded me of some of the old Independent Characters interviews from Carl. Would love to see more of this...maybe even with Carl 🙂
It's such a joy to see my favourite actors being into all the nerdy things I like. It makes me love them even more and seing them smile and being all giddy or going off on a tangent on something they truly enjoy is the absolute best.
Really enjoyed the interview with Rahul. We’ve loved Rahul since iZombie and had no idea he was a nerd like us. We also thought you had a great, natural interview style…would love to see more.
The ultramarine looks incredible! The white accents on the helmet and shoulder pad a great. I would love a video based on how to paint white for beginners, intermediates etc
I really enjoyed this video. And yes, I think that you should try to do more interviews like this. If for no other reason than to show the greater diversity of people and their careers who do this hobby of building, painting and playing with little toy warriors.
This format is super entertaining Ninjon... love listening to the interview over the paint work. Great idea, keep up the great work. Now off to paint a custom piece for a gift. Slayin the Grey
This was a really cool video! The mini is bomb and the fact you made it for him while talking to him about the character and his journey made it all x100 cooler. Really really nice vibe and super enjoyable. Thanks for keep adding layers of enjoyment to an already very enjoyable hobby!
I wish the official captain Titus model looked as good as this (the models pose kinda ruins it and giving him a bolt gun and a chain sword I feel would have fit him better
This is great stuff! I started following Rahul on Instagram not too long ago because I was impressed with his painting journey. It's always cool to see a celebrity with a broader platform shine a light on our little hobby.
Super interesting painting method. I've never seen anyone use the same base colour for the entire miniature and then just highlight the parts that aren't blue in a different colour. Seems really efficient and looks really cool.
As someone who aspires to voice act whenever I get out of my own head about it. As well would love to try painting on stream just to paint…I suck, but I want to share what I love so this is a great mix of a ton of things I love Jon. Great video and as always great looking mini. Your interview questions were great as well. I could see this being a series.
It's really great to see Rahul engaging with the community like this. Much respect to the man for immersing himself in what he does and those in the space.
I've been a fan of Rahul for quite a while since Izombie started. When he started to post the odd bit of Warhammer stuff on Instagram, I was quite excited. I never envisioned it getting to this point though, it's really cool. Thank you for making this video and giving a bit more insight into his journey. Also, I have never been a fan of Smurfs but holy moly, this turned out looking so fricking cool!
This is a pearl. Keep doing stuff like that. It's highly inspirational. Just so you know, "Slay the grey' has become a mantra for me when I feel like I neglect my painting ✊
I agree youtube can help you get to being a better painter. When I first started painting there was no youtube. It was looking at your codex or asking your friend. So youtube can really help you learn the techniques , after that it is learning how to apply them. Keep your old stuff ! Its great to look back and see how far you have got and how much better at painting you get. Im a super slow painter but I dont mind because Im never in a hurry and at least the paint jobs are getting better over time haha. Have fun everyone warhammer 40k is the best sci fi / table top game iv ever played. I miss old school Mage Knight as crappy as those pre paint jobs are I had fun with it and cool mini idea's
This was a great video and excellent surprise, NinJon! As for slaying the grey, I am currently working on finishing painting an Inner Sphere company for Battletech as I may not be able to paint much in a couple of weeks (having a minor surgery on my wrist). If I finish it up, then I'll work on my Clan Binary and then some other minis from various games I have around the house.
When he said he was in Gears 5 as Faz really made me happy when I was a teen Gears of War was my favourite franchise because of it’s similarity to Warhammer 40K so yeah, brilliant.
Great format for a video. I bet enough of your audience can tell the techniques you’re applying. Showing the paint choices is A+. Has some serious replay value too!
This was awesome. I've followed Rahul for a while from the video game space, got into mini painting a few months after him. This is bringing my two loves full circle.😆
I really enjoyed this video. I had never heard of Rahul before this, but the dude seems extremely likeable. Really nice vibes. (And his own rendition of the cover art Marine looks awesome too).
I liked this format. Sometimes the tutorial style videos get old for RUclips binge watchers like myself 😅 but the interview style with the painting video running was refreshing. Keep up the great work!
This was hella cool.. I don't know if I'll play the game at all, but it's cool to mix things up and have ppl on the show talking about stuff.. you still added the hobby in the mix. Def cool stuff bro. Thanks for sharing!
He seems like a really cool dude. Very humble too. I always wanted to be a voice actor but never managed to work out how to actually break into that career unfortunately. 😢
Loved this video. Rahul is a pure delight to listen to, and I felt you set a comfortable and chill vibe for the conversation wich always makes for the best interviews.
Rahul has been great in all the Flanagan stuff. Cannot wait for House of Usher... Also great to see his painting journey. I've been painting for way longer and am still no where near as good... Ultramarine looks rad as hell. Makes me want to actually try and paint the blue marines.
I enjoy your channel. Part of that enjoyment is that you regularly switch it up. Rahul seems like a great guy and this was a fun interview. Halfway through the vid I discovered your dog in the background 🥰 A little while later I started hearing slight purring (I'm on headphones) when I realised that is your dog snoring I smiled ear to ear. Keep having fun with your adventure!
It's actually cool to hear someone who works in Hollywood and isn't calling us a "toxic fandom" and thinks the lore is actually cool. Rahul was also on Funhaus back in the day, wicked sense of humor when he was on there. Just compare Rahul and how he's promoting his project to how Star Wars Celebration was this year and you'll see what I mean about Rahul being refreshing.
Great video. It’s good to see other people’s journeys into the hobby. I know for me Miniac Wes a gateway into painting for me closely followed by Ninjon and the other RUclipsrs.
Excellent, weird video. I think it's definitely okay to depart from your usual format, especially when it is for something as cool as this. Rahul Kohli is a gem. I enjoyed his work on iZombie very much. Also, excellent paint job.
Awesome chat. I didn't know Rahul, but it's always great to see how wide spread our hobby is. And he seems like a really nice guy. I loved the moment when he moved on his chair. I thought 'yeah, DOOM', and in the very the next second he says he's a big DOOM fan. Couldn't be better scripted.
Loved this video. Great video, great mini. What a genuine guy and such a relaxed interview. I could listen to a 3 hour podcast version of this where it's just 2 guys talking nerdy about hobby shit.
This neato, entertaining guy on that other channel, is a voice actor? Awesome video, I've been greatly enjoying Rahul's journey into the hobby, awesome job Ninjon, keep up the wholesome content!
Hell yea dude! I love this! This has to be one of my fav videos. And I absolutely can't wait for Boltgun too. I got high hopes for it. I want a miniature like that so bad. Awesome job dude!
I like the idea of putting the speed painting aside the actual conversation wof the podcast and not just the conversation. makes the video more entartaining
What a cool interview, I would love to see more of this sort of thing. Also I fully thought that was your airbrush making that noise, it was the dog? Too gorgeous, I love it!
Mate, love it. I'd watch you paint it again in slow time telling us how too - maybe that could be a good tutorial for Rahul to follow for the rest of his Kill Team?
Actually a really interesting entry. You managed to merge a regular painting video with an interview related to the subject, which allowed me to follow your process while being entertained by your pleasant exchange: a form of light podcast, if you will. I could definitely see more of this format as I strongly prefer it to the other "topic-of-the-week" one. It doesn't look as hard to produce as other videos so, if I'm not mistaken, you could even increase your output. Maybe you could interview you other painter friends and colleagues and then stretch to new topics?
Excellent video. I love Rahul's work from the first time I saw him in iZombie (great series and a fun re-interpretation of the comic which I also loved) and then as Scarecrow in Harley Quinn. The man is a massive talent and now he is another great ambassador for this wonderful little nerd hobby of ours and proof that we, as a whole are really nice guys not sad loners in our mum's basements. Would love to see this become a regular thing if you could swing it - a RUclips mini painting celeb interviewing Film/TV/Music mini painting celebs would open up the hobby to a whole new audience.
Rahul is such a crazy dude. Him and a few friends try to play Darktide beta. He was having issues, he went to a club that he would go to during down time. They gave him a ethernet cable to be able to play at the hotel lol
Rahul's face when you said you had painted him a mini based on the boltgun art was so wholesome
God, I wish we could have seen his face when he saw the finished piece. Would have been pure gold.
You should paint up a Space Marine as Captain Titus for Mark Strong.
Unfortunately he isn't back for the new game. Maybe two for Mark and the new actor (I think it's Lothbrok's brother from Vikings IIRC)
Lieutenant Titus**
@PallyK just titus*
@@Bass-ef3dr Gigachad Titus
Titus has an actual model

He was awesome in iZombie!
yup, Bly Manor was stellar!
Glad you said it before I could. For both of those too!
Man first I get to watch Rahul's first game on PlayOn and now I get to watch Jon make his character? Epic!
Interviews are a great topic to add to the list. It would be awesome if you could interview other painters, game designers, actors, and others in the hobby.
This is awesome, Rahul seems like a genuinely nice dude and his reaction to knowing you painted the mini for him was great.
What a genuine and nice guy! That was a great format and I’d love if you interviewed more!
The interview was awesome and Rahul is a fucking treasure but I especially appreciated the detailed painting breakdown because I literally just started painting Ultramarines in preparation for 10th Ed lol

Really enjoyed the interview with Rahul. We’ve loved Rahul since iZombie and had no idea he was a nerd like us. We also thought you had a great, natural interview style…would love to see more.
Wish I could find out what minis were used to put this one together, unless it was mentioned at some point in the video. Fantastic video regardless.
Same
Jon as always with an amazing paint job, absolute banger of a video!
Rahul... what a dude. Totally ace in Midnight Mass... serious a contender to the Cavill throne. More of this plx!
This was a great watch my guy
I'd like to see how the conversion was done honestly, the part I was most curious about since you went straight into the painting!
Rahul is such a wholesome, fun dude. Seeing him interact with you was awesome. Makes me wonder... have you heard anything further from Manganiello?
This was pretty cool. I’ve been watching him learn to play on tabletop gaming I think it was.
The ultramarine looks incredible! The white accents on the helmet and shoulder pad a great. I would love a video based on how to paint white for beginners, intermediates etc
I cannot even begin to express how much I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Great stuff, Rahul is awesome. I hope he makes his way into whatever Heny Cavill is working on
Great paint job and chat. You can hear johns dog snoring at 13:09 minutes. Little cameo. Lol
I really enjoyed this video. And yes, I think that you should try to do more interviews like this. If for no other reason than to show the greater diversity of people and their careers who do this hobby of building, painting and playing with little toy warriors.
Your painting skills are incredible and the miniature is a sight to be seen, I'm very fond of the style and the flaw you gave to it.
What I really like about your channel is that it's never "only painting". It's always something more. Keep it up!
This format is super entertaining Ninjon... love listening to the interview over the paint work. Great idea, keep up the great work. Now off to paint a custom piece for a gift. Slayin the Grey

Love Rahul, great interview!
What a fun interview! Thanks for sharing it, and you need to let us know what Rahul says after he gets his Rah-Ultramarine!
This is great stuff! I started following Rahul on Instagram not too long ago because I was impressed with his painting journey. It's always cool to see a celebrity with a broader platform shine a light on our little hobby.
Rahul is awesome, been a fan for years

He name dropped almost every mini painting You Tuber I watch. Very cool interview Jon.
I've been a fan of Rahul for quite a while since Izombie started. When he started to post the odd bit of Warhammer stuff on Instagram, I was quite excited. We need to see kit bash vids for those unique and brilliant models! Rauhl has been great in midnight mass.
This is a pearl. Keep doing stuff like that. It's highly inspirational. Just so you know, "Slay the grey' has become a mantra for me when I feel like I neglect my painting ✊
Such a cool idea for a video. Keep ‘em’ coming Jon!
awesome concept, thank you for the video. loved the interview and painted gift for the guest :)
That is so rad! I love this, keep up the great work!
Rahul is such a likeable dude from every channel I’ve seen him be on recently. That mini is sick too, I loved this format for the video.
I love this type of video. I hope you can find more people to interview while you paint :)
Rahul is amazing and I am super glad he is part of this work. Thanks, Ninjon for a great video!
Where is this model from? Super interested in trying to do this myself

Rahul is the man. His work in Bly Manor and Midnight Mass was incredible, such a likable on-screen presence.
I think that this is amazing. You’re a charismatic person and it’s fun to see you interacting with other people in your videos or podcasts.
Loved this video. Rahul is a pure delight to listen to, and I felt you set a comfortable and chill vibe for the conversation wich always makes for the best interviews.

Honestly I'm not sure who in this conversation I'm more jealous of, big fan of both of you guys. Great video!
I had NO idea the voice was Rahul until I watched this! Been BINGE-playing Boltgun and was clueless, love the guy!
This stuff is gold, Jon. Keep it up! Anything with Rahul Kohli I'll devour. One of my favorites all the way from the Funhaus days.
I didn’t catch that Rahul voice acted in that Doom 40k shooter when he showed up on play on. What a nice guy!
It's actually cool to hear someone who works in Hollywood and isn't calling us a "toxic fandom" and thinks the lore is actually cool. I love videos where I can just watch you paint. I learn a LOT when I can just see the whole process happening . Thank you Ninjon
Loved this video. Great video, great mini.
What a genuine guy and such a relaxed interview.

Awesome video, I've been greatly enjoying Rahul's journey into the hobby, awesome job Ninjon, keep up the wholesome content!
The stranger the better- keep them coming Jon. Its great to see how you can bring different aspects of the 40K world together.
That was fucking awesome. Jon you’re by far the best Warhammer content creator. His reaction was priceless
I have been a huge fan of Rahul for a long time. This is a great crossover!!
Hell yea dude! I love this! This has to be one of my fav videos. And I absolutely can't wait for Boltgun too. I got high hopes for it. I want a miniature like that so bad. Awesome job dude!
He seems like a cool fella. I enjoyed this video
Great video, never heard of him but it was fun to watch , and yes I have to find out who he is.
Love this style of video. Mixing the painting aspect with an interview/podcast element is really cool. Well done!
Love the interview. This was a great idea for a video. Will love to see more!!
I like the idea of putting the speed painting aside the actual conversation wof the podcast and not just the conversation. makes the video more entartaining
Always knew Rahul as a guest for Funhaus back in the day, nice to see him in more media now that I would typically come across
This was super cool! Loved the interview with Rahul, he's a really nice and funny guy. Can't wait to play Boltgun!
Yep! Do More What you need to do is have him voice over your script!!! ROFL!! Love to hear his voice over Darryl’s image!
Bro i just looked at this games artwork again and thought Id like to have that as a mini. wild timing
What a cool interview, I would love to see more of this sort of thing. Also I fully thought that was your airbrush making that noise, it was the dog? Too gorgeous, I love it!

This was Amazing. Love Rahul in Mike Flanagan’s series. Badass video Ninjon keep it up.🎉
Rahul is such a crazy dude. Him and a few friends try to play Darktide beta. He was having issues, he went to a club that he would go to during down time. They gave him a ethernet cable to be able to play at the hotel lol
Love Rahul so much, truly a blessed time to see him on your channel Ninjon. Awesome stuff!
Loved this. Love Rahul. Love Ninjon. Love the interview style whilst painting. 10/10 content.
the interview + painting format is really nice
I almost liked it more than a typical paint video where you explain the process.
