What physically happens in emission of heat during thermal relaxation ? Does it mean an increase in kinetic energy (hence temperature) of the molecule of equal amount due to subsequent relaxation to ensure conservation of energy ?

One q - spin spin relaxtn doesn't change nuclei in low e lvl so why called relaxtn?
    As
work done by nuclei in lower lvl= work done by higher nuclei becoming lower e nuclei .
