    Also I just found your vid where it seems to be in real time. I’m a new acrylic abstract artist. I’ve lost weight BC I’d rather paint then eat… it’s unbelievably addicting to mix paint, grab a tool and step up to the canvas…. • @lettera_79
      @lettera_79  Год назад +2

      I'm very pleased that you appreciated this element. I have to admit that the main reason why I made some of these videos is precisely to retrace those moments, those different characters, because with time they clearly tend to fade from memory. Also, while painting you have a different way of seeing the canvas, compared to an overall view from a distance.

      This painting is made mainly with oils and some acrylic binders, but pastels, charcoals, enamels and spray paint had a minor role too, so my advice is to try different mediums and surfaces until you find those which works better for you, according to the result you're looking for. It can be a long process and I wouldn't start with too much from which to choose, but experimenting by yourself is the only way to go I guess.

    How do you decide which areas to fill in & which areas not & what shapes to make with the line work? Thanks Francesco ❤

    • @lettera_79
      @lettera_79  Год назад +1

      It all depends on the final image you want to achieve, the sense of its final appearance. After all, it's the same process for any kind of painting. And its path will not necessarily be perfectly ordered and linear (and I prefer it not to be), but it will guide you in the choices you have to make in its various stages.

    • @Trusid
      @Trusid Год назад

      In this particular work of yours in this video do you have a preconceived image in mind, a plan ? Im trying to figure out whether your are painting intuitively (by feeling) or you are looking to a photo or some other reference and therefore there is a solid plan in place & you are trying to achieve that …
      Many thanks for answering, your work here is beautiful & heartfelt 🙏🏼

    • @lettera_79
      @lettera_79  Год назад +1

      @@Trusid Okay, I'll try to answer a bit in general and a bit on this specific painting. Starting in general, I think that when a person is doing something continuously, for many years, studying it in depth etc, it is very difficult to separate sharply what is intuitive and spontaneous from what is organized and prepared. Sometimes you can make very quick and radical decisions that from the outside might appear almost random, but which in reality for the person who put them in place are the result of experience and repetition. Sometimes decisions are made at a certain point in the work in order to further or put in place a process that will not actually manifest itself on the canvas until much later. Now, going to this painting, to say it briefly, I am not following a picture or a sketch in front of my eyes. Discovery is a large part of the pleasure of painting for me. At the same time I know what I'm looking for, it's not going blindly, and I'm wondering how to do it. I don't want to make this complicated but the truth is there is no real answer to your question.
