- For a challenge, I tried running a theme park on 1 tile and $0 in Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 (2004, developed by Frontier Developments).

SO in the future if you do a run like this, i suggest closing the park once every other year
this forces all gusts out of your park, and once all guests have left, you open back up, which charges them all the entrance fee again and is a HUGE influx of cash
I love the contrast of the poetical and philosophical voiceover and the grindy and absurd gameplay.

Pro tip: Most of the peeps are in groups, and all of them only go on one ride with the whole group or just wait for the rest of the group to finish one ride, and this makes it hard to earn cash bc most of their time is spent standing around and doing nothing, so i reccomend downloading a mod that spawns more individual peeps, they don't have to wait for their group, so much more of their time is spent on rides/buying stuff.

I'm in that age where I did play rct2 as a kid but have far more memories of rct3. Love seeing this
Roller coaster tycoon for me was about having them enter a ride, then exit on the other side which NEVER leads back to the park entrance. Thinking back on it now….I may have needed some friends as a kid.
God I remember playing these when I was just a young lad, that and the zoo tycoon complete edition or something, spending the time setting up battles between dinosaurs and lions fun times.

Favorite theme park game will always be Thrillville for my PS2!

I've been wanting to start my own RCT3 series up again except with hard and obscure custom scenarios like this actually. The career mode was disappointingly easy.
A lack of atms is the major problem I see. Your guests run out of money before they make it to the back of the park, also charging for the bathroom and high food and drink costs also tend to be useful.
"A visual aneurysm..." My goal is to use this in normal conversation.

Returned to this game after more than a decade, doesn't hold up for me. Its clunky as hell. Can't believe I enjoyed that over the RCT2 back in the days.
The Grinder is still broken. Consider hiring more mechanics.
As soon as I saw the fence I just knew that was RCT3.

We need an ambiguousamphibian-ipsom. I'm pretty sure at this point even the normal phrases being used are so full of words that it's hard to track, it probably wouldn't even have to be randomly generated. Just literally copy and paste lines of speech from the youtube videos.

This was basically like doing a kickstarter for a theme park, the people pay early just because of the pure potential of that empty plot of land.

If that was only for 1 or 2 bathrooms, and there was complimentary service, I could imagine that being a gimmick that could definitely work, but as long as it stays below dollar.

I love how is this game you have only two options
One: this a very well designed ride that everyone loves and garners well earned fame
Two: By the gods they won't even be human when they get off.
I can't remember if it was Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 or not but I remember one of my strategies in one of the various theme park games was to build a coaster that launched my customers out of the park into the next one over to tank said park- thereby boosting my own. Good times.
Riding the rollercoaster yourself hit me with a big wave of nostalgia! I'd forgotten about that feature & how cool it was as a kid. 🤩

I know it's not a huge deal to give tips for this game but, benches around the exits of rides help visitors calm their stomachs.
0:11 the black haired guy on the left looks kinda familiar... like a celebrity or something. I'm sure I saw that beard and hair style before, somewhere.
The fact that the guests would believe you to be a "fraud" if you hadn't placed like a burger stand or something by the time they return to the entrance is really funny.
Funny Story about this game:
When I was younger (about 6 or 7 I believe) I wanted a game called Tycoon City New York, but I had no money to buy it. I had the idea to send a handwritten letter to Atari asking them if I could have a copy for free. A few weeks later I get a letter back from Atari. They replied saying that they didn’t have a copy of Tycoon City, but they gave me Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum Edition instead.
I still have the disc to this day, and I still cant believe it actually worked.
A part which is a path in the middle of nowhere and leading to nowhere, where you don't own the path apart from 1 square, is kinda like an nft

The modding community for this game was absolutely *massive*. I haven't looked into it in well over a decade, but I remember it being vibrant and filled to the brim with things that made the game more enjoyable.
Its honestly one of the sadder things in gaming that a lot of custom scenery was basically lost forever when megaupload died so many years ago. There was just so much heart put into the mods that not many other games have ever come close to matching, and most of it is lost due to dead file transfer sites and dead forum links
