Yeah that rant was pretty well worded. I seen a lot of younger youtubers just say things like overrated or this is stupid instead of explaining why they don't like things. Good job giving solid reasons to why you don't like guest characters.
I see where your coming from Brusk, I didn't really mind Alien but Leatherface felt too over the top for me, but maybe it's Warner Bro's or Neatherealm's way of paying their homage towards Gunnar Hansen (Original Leathetface) who passed away about a month ago, I would've preferred Noob over these guest characters but I'm still going to get this Kombat pack for Gunnar Hansen :/ awesome video bro

If you ask me KP2 SHOULD HAVE BEEN Smoke, Rain, Fujin and Baraka. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE would have been happy if they did that.
I agree leather face is stupid and over the top. I figured that alien was coming, but wheres are fujin{or as i prefer Noob Saibot}! Instead we got leatherface that doesn't belong in the MK franchise. I'm happy to see leatherface enter the MK scene in this game...i think he is a good addition and plus it's a good send off to the actor who played leatherface in the movies since he has recently left our world. R.I.P

Brusk I completely agree with you that we don't need guest characters two was enough predator and Jason probably the best of horror and sci fi well I think predator is sci fi but they went too far we don't need these characters instead of alien and leather face how about noob and fujin?! much better chararcters alien really dosnt make sense in this game it's ruining the uniqueness of this game mortal kombat is a very memorable fighting game with blood gore great combos x rays fatalities brutalities that no other game is even close to having if people see all these guest chararcters coming people might think oh look just another shitty weird alien knockoff fighting game nether realm need to stop this like maybe 1 guest character not fucking 4! hopefully netherealm will realise this what there doing to there great game

Dude get your facts straight. Just because you wanted Fujin does not mean he was the most requested character. In all of the voting polls I saw Smoke was the number 1 most requested character, Rain was second and Fujin was 3rd. THIRD NOT FIRST OR MOST REQUESTED. Baraka also either came in either 4th or 5th depending on the poll. In just about all of them it was what I said with the first three but a couple had noob in 4th which put baraka in 5th and others had noob in 5th so baraka was 4th. Either way, that doesn't matter, my point is Fujin was not number 1 most requested character for KP2.

this how i kinda felt with the addition of scorpion in injustice, so many dc characters that could have filled the spot, yet a character who has been in so many games already got it.

You are entitled to your opinion, so I'll respect it. As for me, I'm not a Mortal kombat casual, just to think that only casuals like guests characters is false. I've been playing this since it came out in the Arcades. Bought them on super Nintendo, and so on. I thinks it's cool that they have guests. Noobde did say he didn't just want to bring the old characters again and again, but to also add a variety of new characters. Mortal kombat has different realms, so any character can be in this game if they fit with some sort of story in which they all do. I will buy all characters as I always had. I for one want Freddy back in some way or form. More characters the better. Don't get me wrong, do I want Fujin, Kabal, Human smoke, noob, Nightwolf, Stryker, Reiko, Havik, Frost and Rain, of course. But we can't have them all. I'm sure there will be a KP3, and of course one guest character will be Spawn, but don't worry I'm 100% sure Fujin will be one of the MK characters
Okay I just had one annoyance with your video, the fact that you say casuals tell competitive players how to think yet you're literally saying that if someone likes guest characters, they must be a casual which isn't true in the slightest

In Mortal Kombat 11, I'm only gonna buy the Mortal Kombat characters. Some guests, such as Hellboy and Predator, were good characters, because they were actually requested. But when MK11 comes around I'm probably gonna stick with MK because if Pennywise shows up he'll make no sense because he literally kills children, not adults. He'll honestly be a waste of a character slot.

+Jacob Salas I'm not entirely sure how Alien would work in MKX if his blood is corrosive , unless they change things (mechanics and other stuff) completely just for him or unless they make his blood red like Baraka's which would be stupid because they are changing a feature that is true to his character ( if I am not mistaken) . I also thought Alien was someone who didn't really go into close proximity or stand at a close range to another challenger ( in terms of battling) I thought they're supposed to be the stealthy sort ( If I am not mistaken) .

I can understand a couple guest characters but in the future there's gonna be more guest characters than actual characters
I don't get the part when you say you don't like the Kombat Pack 2 and won't buy it yet you still want to promote contents from it and have your friend buy it so you could try it. That is pretty much the same as what you just mention, if you don't like it and still buy then you're part of the problem. You don't like it yet you still promote it, that too is still part of the problem. If you don't like it, you don't promote it, you don't download it, you don't play it and you should prevent your friends from buying it or else he / she is part of the problem too cause they are supporting the practice. To really be not part of the problem, voice your opinion like you do now and persuade every one you know not to buy it, not to promote it, nothing. Just leave it alone or boycott it. In times that will surely make NRS or WB see the fall of their greedy ways but even if you don't buy and continue to promote it, the audience who you introduced the contents to will find interest in the practice too and they will buy it so in theory you actually aren't helping to get rid of the practice but instead making it more aware or popular to the audience.
If what you say about "hey it's their money they can do whatever they want", if they like the contents and they buy it then they are not part of the problem, it's just what they like. That is true, people can buy whatever they like even the Kombat Pack 2 but at the same time they are buying into the practice. Since they are buying it, they are counted as potential customers to the Kombat Pack and if successful that will persuade NRS or WB to continue with the practice in future game releases thus continuing the problem and not preventing it. If you didn't buy the Kombat Pack 2 but you're still promoting contents from it then yes you are part of the problem cause you still persuading your audience's interest in the practice of those contents. Sorry friend but that is the truth whether you believe it or not.

1 guest charecter per kombat pack 1 new charecter or someone from the comics eg havik reiko skarlet maybe blaze or shao kahn and 2 true alive mk charecters eg rain fujin noob smoke etc

I love you Brusk, but the whole "Guest characters ruin the game" thing is kind of out there. And this is coming from a guy who has loved MK for their whole life. What it comes down to, is money. NRS, and more specifically Warner Brothers is a company. Warner Brothers loves the cash, and guests bring in lots of money. I would prefer to see people like Fujin and Frost, but I understand why LF and the Alien are in. It comes down to the fact, that a company is a company. They have added TONS of stuff for us die hard fans, Triborg is a awesome concept, and Bo Rai Cho obviously is a character that casuals don't really know. Same with Tanya and Tremor. They are for us. I'm almost positive Warner Bros went to NRS and went "Look there's a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie coming out, we want Leatherface in your game. And Alien vs Predator would make money. The other two are up to you." PLUS not to mention we have near 30 characters in this game. Actually I think it might be 30 now.
And with 30 something characters in this game, only 4 being guests for a casual audience to allow NRS to make more cash, how does that ruin the game? The more casual audience can have fun playing as these iconic characters, and we can play as our MK characters. Guests don't ruin a game if you do them right, and NRS has done it right.

Injustice went WAY overboard with guest characters
Guest characters aren't ruining MK . They're DLC , bonus characters . You don't have to have them . I love mortal kombat but play Armageddon , you'll realized that 1/4 of the characters aren't good and forgettable .
I'm fine with alien, since they worked around that compromise, and its Ed Boons favourite horror movie icon, but leatherface? I woulda preferred Fujin or Rain or someone actually relevant

I like the kp2, but if Leatherface and Alien were not there, I would want Havik and Fujin. Bo Rai Cho and Triborg are okay with me, but Don't get me wrong I like the idea of a chainsaw weapon inclusion, but it would fit with Havik because of him being chaotic. And Fujin or a female character could have been there because of numerous request

I reeeeeeeeeeally wanted the alien to be in the game, and combining Baraka with alien is okay with me. I never truly liked baraka as a character he was just kind of the goon of Shao Kahn/ Shang Tsung/ Onaga/ Quan-Chi and he never really did anything for me personally so I was okay with them doing this. As for Leather Face I'm meh about him, he looks interesting. Triborg is awesome and I have wanted Bo Raicho's drunken style to return in this new style since MK9 so I'm more than satisfied with the Pack. 4 returning characters and 2 guest is a fine ratio with me.

+Cyrus Hodgins She would've been an awesome inclusion in MKX ..I would say she is a dark kharacter and she would've fit well in MKX . Ed talked about the possibility of a story pack . He said something about it being a long term plan , a lot of data , but the fans love more kontent and more kharacters .. hopefully , if this does work out , they could bring the kharacters from the story like Fujin , Sareena etc.... not only them but the kharacters from the komic as well including , Skarlet , Reiko , Havik etc. It could probably make a lot of fans happy and they could redeem themselves if they do decide to . I know it's a big thing for them to work on and plan , and I don't expect it so suddenly but I really hope it does work out because I know a lot of fans will be happy .

The only guest characters I wanted was Sweet Tooth or Spawn but they both got deconfirmed so I stopped caring about any other guest I didn't want jason or predator. I definitely don't want alien and leatherface. In my opinion jason and leatherface are the worst out of them all but that's just me

+Uncle Max You don't know what you're talking do you? Midway went out of business because of lack of funding and their other franchises weren't good. Mortal Kombat was the main thing Midway had and that isn't enough to keep a company going.

Well I kinda get how you didn't want guest characters but they are kind of essential for getting more people to play I'm new to the franchise and I'm really good and the whole reason I got introduced to the wonderful game genre of fighting was because I seen that my favorite movie character predator was gonna be in it so I picked up mkx and what do you know? I loved it not even for the guest characters just for the game

one error on your argument. MK was successful until MK deadly alliance the company [midway] nearly went bankrupt because the franchise was doing so terrible. MKA would have been the last MK game if warner bros didn't pick up neither realm and MK9 being the reboot. I think a lot of the frustration with these guess characters is the fact that instead of having cool characters come back like frost, noob saibot, sarina, fujin, havik, we have these one time only characters that hold no relevance. guest characters like jason cool, predator mkay cool, alien baraka....eh alright.... leather face.....ok can we stop...

I love mortal kombat my first game was mortal kombat deadly alliance. And I have to say it made a big improvement. I'm happy with guest characters but if they have 6+ guest characters that is unacceptable. I'm still buying the kombat pack 2 not the individual characters itself.
And acid logic fits in for Alien just like breaking spinal cord and ripping out livers and they still keep on going
