Lyrics:
I don't know what I hold in my hand
Could it be that I'm evil?
Plunder on theres no law in this land,
The horror guides me through
Masterer and subjector of pain
I'm the Godder of worms
Devil's Lieger controls the insane
You'll see it when I'm through
I'll hang you higher than before
I'll leave you dying at death's door
Overruller and slaver of blood
She's impaled in the fire
Fear of God drags her name through the mud
And now her life's cut short
Dominator and firmer of sins
I'm the lord of the wastelands
Bloody hammers and burning hot pins
Her story shall be told
I'll hang you higher than before
I'll leave you dying at death's door
I'm the juster and steerer of good
As they lace my hand with gold
I'll stand guard as she's nailed to the wood
No truer man than me
I'm the king and tormentor of all
As I travel the cities
Broken peasants and mayors shall call
My blood lust never ends
I'll hang you higher than before
I'll leave you dying at death's door
The perfect stoner doom song. Plus, it’s like an actually well written tune with a strong melody, something far too much doom lacks. It takes serious talent to make catchy doom choruses. Uncle Acid pulls it off effortlessly.
The problem with a lot of doom bands is that they get so stoned they forget that they are actually in a band.
@almostideal1306 thats funny.
@@almostideal1306 Yea, that was pretty good.
Is this doom? I'm not sure I'd even call it metal, I think it's pretty comfortably in the stoner rock category.
edit: jesus christ I've become one of those insufferable sub-genre nerds, haven't I?
Practicing this on guitar is so soothing a good tune doesn’t need solos at 200 bpm
Coving this on bass. ASI had just found this today! I have monolord lowrider acid mammoth all over. Of course Al Cisneros every where I look here at home 😂
Pure progression of the SPIRIT of Sabbath. Not just some shitty knockoff, these guys nailed it
My aunt thought this was a band from her time.
your aunt and my uncle looollll
My Dad too
Aunt Acid
I think that's one of the best comments I've seen.
they accomplished their goal then, they're so good.
I've seen them for the first time when they played before "Black Sabbath" I never heard of them before. And I just stood there and nod my head all the time, hehe they just mesmerized me with this sound.
Mike K. Same here, in Amsterdam.
Fantastic band
I Saw them un México, and was one of the Best live perfomance of My life
Damn never knew they opened for sabbath
...just the same. They were WAY much better than Black Sabbath (like most of all opening bands).
I (we) can just hope they stay "true" and stick to their (our?) values
Music is Rotten... but not our ears !
I saw these guys open for King Diamond, I can’t get this song out of my head a year later
Me too ! NYC.
"I don't know what I hold in my hand...Could it be that I'm evil?"
I will have those words carved into the archway of my tomb.
I don't get it...could you explain me the meaning of this verse?
Probably a blade, "guns are too quick, you cant savour the little emotions". Unle acid protagonist of this story is so fucked in the head he thinks the devil tells him to kill.
@Careful_Eugene I like to think that the character in question is second guessing himself, he calls himself both ''the juster and steerer of good'' and ''the king and tormentor of all'' implying that he believes his bloody work is for a good cause, maybe he's experiencing a moment of disillusionment, maybe he's no longer sure if he does what he does because he believes it to be the lesser evil or because he's too far gone to stop, or maybe my absolutely stoned ass is over analyzing this song and they just said it because it sounded cool.
@@HandleMyBallsRUclips its all about the Manson family and the Sharon Tate murder
@@matteomarinelli3752 The protagonist is discovering that they're actually the antagonist.
Uncle acid is pure kick ass rock. That this whole world needs in a bad way.
I find it really interesting how they did the vocals. They really had to sing in duet just to get that Lennon esque tone, never seen another band do that. The dedication is admirable and it just shows how talented the band is and how well they know their stuff.
Like in every aspect, from the instrumentals to the theme and singing makes this band unique. It's one of those rare bands that makes you feel like you've discovered a whole new dimension of music; I've only had 3 bands that gave me the prescribed feeling, Uncle acid has to be the top 1 though. Nothin else like it.
@@61subsandnovideos and the other two?
@@61subsandnovideos Yesss. I love this band, the riffs, the vocal harmonies, the "musical idea" of how dark and kinda scary at times the 60s and early 70s were that they seem to be really channeling, easily one of my favorite bands of the past 15 years.
@@blindboygrunt7711 I've had the same feeling when the first The Mars Volta full album came out, De-Loused in the Comatorium, whole new dimension
I fucking love this band.
I love the way he solo's on this one gives me 70s pentagram vibes!
This is mindblowing.
Love this band. Love the sludgey sound.
6:50 to 7:02 ....Did anyone else notice the little homage to "Snowblind" by "Black Sabbath"?
+dasvadder12 yeah same solo.
@@alex_xro that's so sick
@@alex_xro same ideia*
One of the best bands!!!
Wow, just wow. I just found this band when scanning through RUclips for bands "like" Electric Wizard. This song is just insane.
Isn't RUclips incredible? The only redeemable social platform... My buddy sent me Electric Wizard's Dopethrone 7 years ago saying it was "acid metal" and I instantly fell in love. I hadn't heard of Doom Metal before that. Uncle Acid is now my favorite band many years later. Just so original.
Truly great Stoner/Doom Metal!
How am I only just discovering this recording, I'm crying. Ffffffccc
So much more layered than the simplicity of the main riff. A perfect tune!
Now if only they could have this kind of mix on their actual albums.
Yeah, the fuzzed out/thin/lo fi sound is cool, but very tiring for a full album - and the riffs sound so good with some body to them
Agreed. Their studio production style works great for the bands aesthetic/ethos, but its the vocals on the albums that get me the most, just too grainy for me... a minor gripe, but all the more reason to see them live
I know this is late, but saw the band last night, they really were one of the very best bands I've seen live, I said pretty much what was on my mate's mind: "If they could get this sound live down in the studio-they would probably go supersonic". Perhaps an outside ear, with the mixing and production- or a live album?
Better than the album version.
You are correct.
The slowed down version is so much easier to groove with though
I think the same
The high hat (?) sounds like a sledghammer battering a large dwarven anvil, epic
Definitely. I get that they were going for that vintage, aged sound on the album but actually getting clear vocals on this song is nice. I would like to hear it at the album tempo though.
Might just be my favorite performance from a “BBC Session” of all time... they were ON IT!!! Black Sabbath if they took a sheet of sunshine ☀️
A HUGE thank you for posting this, man. Shared it on my page, Doomed & Stoned.
Oh this voice...
This sounds awesome
I love this band!
happy 4:20 my friends
love them, love them, love them
I saw them this year for the first time in Toronto, I wasn´t so excited to be honest, I didn´t know them but after hear Death's Door live....dude !!!! i became a big fan of this guys
Found these guys and this specific song on a stoner metal comp. Glad I did. 'Blood Lust' is such a great album and I love that the songs are telling stories about witches getting back at the executioners. This one makes me think of that Vincent Price movie, 'Witch Finder General.' Love that these guys use vintage equipment!
Very early sabbath hence why they supported them
Man,can it get any stonier?
Its like, how much stonier can this be? And the answer is none. None more stonier.
Steeped in stoniness.......full saturation man.
+Joe Rusche Saturnation or Marsiation.
Sleep
electric wizard. but its subjective man. its all chill and cool either way.
I was halfway through the song before I realized the video wasn’t moving. Lol
This track is so sick.. I just discovered this band about 2 weeks ago.. Buying all the vinyl I can get.
The best band in the world right now.
best lyrics in the game
The best modern doom/psychedelic band.
This is quite remarkable good. For the vocal harmony as much as the plodding overdriven bass and guitar riff. But in fairness, I've never heard a "bad" BBC session recording.
This is what Tex Watson was singing in his head as he headed up Sharon Tate's driveway. Somehow, these dudes distilled it out of the ether!
VERY WELL TO ALL.......................................
Jsem vás objevila přes kámoše..jste fakt úžasní ♥️
They are also a great live band! Saw them first time this tuesday in Cologne as Ghost support.
this shit is a heat pumper, awesome
slower than the studio version, isn't it? still great though...
its slightly slower, but sounds even better to me
Yes but that's how's u make it heavier!
Recently turned on to you guys. New new favorite band.
Wht a fucking great session.
Perfect 👌
Just listening to this makes me feel stoned
The sound of that bass cuts through like nothing I've ever heard!
They kick ass!!!
Just got hip. Nice one
Dude ❤!!🤘👍
I'M NOT WORTHY!
Pure. Rock.
the Scorpions- Zoo riff?
I think I've actually seen that notebook on the floor by KR in person
ah yes, this is it
i know right?, cheers!
i know right? MASTERPIECE... i mean... great concept... yet, even better craft xD
Great band. Keep it simple
Well Jim I Hope the safe opened and you got them all.
🌹
If Altamont Speedway had a theme song...
how the hell do i get the mp3's for this whole session?????
Thanks bro
All Sabbath's sons !
finally a good sound compared to their low fi recordings....
heavy-stoner-hard-metal
Oh I’m the only one who likes the album version better, just because I think the higher vocals ties it together and makes it sound badass, I’m not much of a fan of the vocals of this song live
I don’t know what I hold in my hand could it be that I’m evil
beatles with nuts
♾👌
perry mason!
Was it recorded in one take?
If you want comparisons, they sound a bit like Bon Scott era ACDC, with a little less Angus Young pyrotechnics. Not complaining, just calling the shots. A guitarist like Angus Young comes around how often?
What a bad fuckin intro man 😩🤘
General Powell so this is what happens when you Refuse the Coke Machine.
RAD
Nice rythmically long run
Needs more cowbell.
Doesn't everything?
Is that a fender VI?
try playing around with the play back speed, sounds epic on 1.25
Can anybody name that white pedal he's using on the left?
Boss tuner by the looks mate
+Brad Taylor yeah right...i agree by the look of it
Holy hell. Sounds way better at .95 using the custom playback speed tool.
The Beatles meet Black Sabbath.
Jason ism TheUniversal Holy spirit JccGolden fleeces Jason Society's
Sounds like those 1000's of Kyuss clone bands that popped up in the late 90s/early 00's.
Sounds nothing like Kyuss, if you want to call anything a clone Kyuss could be called a Melvins clone. Now stfu and appreciate good doom.
My generation? You act like I didn't grow up in the 90's lol. One of my first records was Holy Mountain, my uncle was big into them back in the day and he gave it to me when I was about 6. I used to listen to his copy way before then too. Also what part of this is displaced? The whole thing about doom is to embrace fuzzy heavy riffs. Hell, Sleep were a fucking sabbath clone for Christ sake and you don't see me sand bagging them. If the riff is heavy and the song grooves then what the fuck matters? It's honestly down to personal taste man, just because you can't get it into it doesn't mean the band is a clone, least of all a Kyuss clone. I have never heard a more left field statement other than a guy calling ISIS a Tool rip off.
Kyle Taylor "I was listening to SLEEP when i was 6" :-D. Nuff said. So you were 6 in 1992, which goes to prove my point that you were too young to have witnessed all the mediocre Stoner rock bands of the mid to late 90s. Just go listen to Dream Death's "Journey into Mystery" album instead, sonny lad.
+Kyle Taylor How are Kyuss a freaking Melvins clone lol. The only thing similar between Kyuss and Melvins are downtuned and fuzzed out guitars.
And Uncle Acid doesn't sound anything like Kyuss either. Uncle Acid sounds like I dont know, Black Sabbath, Pentagram, shit like that.
+Žiga Auer Black sabbath meets the kinks is what they are going for and i think they have got it nailed down really well!
You all are kidding, right? This is a garage band.
MrPerfecttommy ???garage bands don’t play BBC lol
Scott Hamilton Amen brother
More like an “abandoned barn used for human sacrifice” band if you ask me.
Verry technicle... nice...
