I discovered Uncle Acid from the most unlikely source imaginable: my 61 year old father lol. He was in a local record store and heard the Blood Lust album on the stereo and asked the guy behind the counter who it was? He bought the album and swung by my house on the way home telling me " You gotta hear this! Its like Sabbath Beatles!"
Blood lust is still my favorite album of theirs, but i love Mind Control a lot too

I saw review of BLOOD LUST in Uncut magazine and i found it on YT,i liked it from the first minute. Great band, a little bit more diverse then other stoner bands

Man how did I just find this video? Uncle Acid is my absolute favourite band of the 2000’s to now. Love all their albums. Seen them live a bunch of times and even had the chance to hang with them twice after 2 shows in Toronto during the mind control tour and night creeper your. The singer, Kevin and his gf are incredible down to earth human beings.
My ranking for them... it’s a tough one, but here we go...
    1: blood lust
    2: the night creeper
    3: wasteland
    4: mins control
    5: vol. 1
If you ever get the chance, go see them live. Such an incredible band. Kevin is a genius and it’s no wonder how big a following they have with little to no press or promotion.

I saw them open for King Diamond back in 2019 and they crushed it. You wouldn't think there would be much crossover, but the crowd was yelling out requests during the whole set. You don't see that often.

I enjoy these guys a lot. There is an effect on their vocal though which I would like to see them change up a bit. As one said here, it does take a little getting used to. Otherwise, they’re one of the best doom bands out there, IMO.
Their videos are also great! They utilize old film footage extremely effectively. I’ve seen clips of them playing live where these images are rear projected behind them, which they don’t always do, but I love bands that utilize film, like Floyd. Some psychedelic bands have used film footage in conjunction with a liquid light show, which is just so cool.

I have The Night Creeper and I really dig it. It's their best. I think the production on some other albums is really thin, though. There's a cool band called Bloody Hammers. They are a throwback to 70s rock and horror movies. Their album covers look like posters to 70s horror movies. They have a new album coming out this week.

I still haven't heard this band I remember first hearing them around 2011 about the same time I discovered Ghost and Graveyard, will definitely check them out. Being a big Budgie fan I am searching for a modern band with a Budgiesque vibe about them, I noticed you mentioned Uncle Acid being a style crossed with Black Sabbath/The Beatles and one of the reasons I love Budgie so much is they had that same light/shade about them.
    Thanks Again :)

Really good band, got to see them in 2015. They’re kind of like if Black Sabbath and The Beatles had a child. I do agree with you Pete, they need to do something a little bit different. It does seem like they have more potential, I think Kevin should challenge himself a little more and do something he might find uncomfortable. I told one of my friends that maybe they should just drop the whole low-if sound just to change it up.

My favorite band from the last 10 years hands down. My ranking is similar with the top 3 being as close as possible to separate. However I disagree in that I feel Wasteland is quite a bit different from the others. A little bit of Vol. 1 sound is there with the organ/moog garage rock sound, plus there is also a bit of an early Iron Maiden influence not found on other records. Check out "Blood Runner" (not psychedelic doom Pete) and Shockwave City. Really captures that NWOBHM energy and sound. But yes, fantastic song titles on Blood Lust and each record is more than solid!

Another show well done, Pete, convincing many of us to now track down an unknown band for listening. Per usual, stopped to listen to some tracks during the show and that always helps me know whether to keep. I must like 70s doom-stoner-psych music as the tracks sampled sound like something really enjoyable though your comment about similarity of sound and structure seems on spot. But still, music enjoyable for listening is just that - enjoyable. Thanks, Pete, once again for expanding the musical horizons for many of us.

They were formed after he left Cactus and after he couldn't get the gigs in AC/DC after Bon Scott or for the newly formed Rossington-Collins Band.
