I feel this is Uncle Acid for Pink Floyd people. I think I'm going to like it, but it's definitely going to be an endeavour for a lot of people in an age where we rarely listen to whole albums on the daily. It's going to be a must for vinyl collectors though.
I love this album. It does exactly what they set out to do which is capture the Giallo soundtrack style. Yes at times it is a bit obvious which classic soundtrack they are referencing, but I don’t care because I love that stuff. And appearances by Franco Nero and Edwige Fenech as the main “characters”- you gotta have Edwige Fenech in your Giallo… I dig it and for me it is easy listening, easy to listen to something that is interesting and sounds great.
Honestly loved this record. They really shook themselves up I'm the right way. I feel like their last couple releases had lost some steam and never quite caught up to the glory of their early records. It's polarizing, but these guys definitely knew it was going to be. I applaud them for striking out the way they did. They melded giallo synth with their doom sound so uniquely and seeminglessly into this beautiful high-concept package. It's also looking to be one of my favorites of the year. Also kudos for having elements that remind me a bit of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard- Eyes like the Sky. I hope they continue to innovate like this rather than repeating their old sound.
Have you heard "BOHREN & DER CLUB OF GORE"? Their album "Sunset Mission" is really fucking good, but like you were saying: you really need to be in a mood. but if you're in the mood, it's killer!
I was thinking about Bohren when listening to Nell Ora Blu, especially the title track. Perfect "mood music" that might get dismissed as background music. Similarly for "Earth - The Bees Made Honey"
Good album. I actually felt like I was watching a movie from the 60's or 70's...however, I have to agree that you have to be in the mood for something like this.
I was not a fan of Connor's reviews, but he is really growing on me. He is a perfect fit for this kind of music. This is not a band I listen a lot to, but I'm looking forward to giving it a spin at the gym, at the right time.
@@GlibGrind hiya, I think so, looks like it. It’s the Crash Records “Giallo” yellow store exclusive. Mine is sealed, so I’m assuming the lyrics are in there between the gatefold. Which version are you waiting for? Where I am lucky though, is having the Rise Above die-hards of their other releases, got in there quick! Lol
I didn't know the album wasn't meant for a real or even a fictional movie and just thought they did a good job with this soundtrack lol. But I think it's even cooler what they chose to do, even though I would prefer a "traditional" record instead
Man I listened to this for the first time last night, immediately started it again! Then bopped it again this morning, I think it’s in contention for my personal album of the year! 😮
This album fucks so hard. Very on-brand if you’ve paid attention, lots of these sounds are present on Vol. 1 and basically every MV they’ve ever done is Giallo collages lol. It’s fantastic, they needed something fresh too. Felt like they were afraid to stray too far from Blood Lust for a while there. Bit miffed they only plan on playing this material a handful of times live across Europe though.
Got to admire the creativity..totally immersive with a tarantino vibe. It kinda proves that metal is more about how a sound makes you feel..saying that if see uncle live I'm not expecting too much of this soundscape stuff
Even those two songs Connor mentioned that sounded quintessential Uncle Acid also sounded like 70’s Italian prog. :) Sound slike this could be a classic stoner/horror corssover.
I can’t blame fans for not being stoked for this. I won’t be blasting this in the car but on a dark night playing this start to finish is a real treat. A real artistic risk but so glad they made this.
I think this album is brilliant ... The only downside is the fact that there is an ultrafan edition that includes a bonus 7-inch record limited to only 55 copies, I would kill to listen to it.
OMG. This review is 50% "Here, listen to this". Gonna wait for the melon to post his review. At least he actually uses his words to describe what he thinks about the albums he reviews.
@@pointytoebropretty sure he mentioned them once and brushed them off as retreading old sounds… shame, I think they’re extremely creative and interesting.
Good review! I like most of the album but I'll be manually editing out all the fucking ringing phones garbage. Not sure who approved that shit. May as well add a smoke detector to the band too
@@Ressic It's so fucking annoying that people can't comprehend the simple fact that the ringing phone is "overdone" on purpose to make you feel like the character being harassed by unknown callers.
@@konfusionstudio Ah! Not out to annoy or offend anyone! I find the sound of a ringing phone incredibly annoying especially when I listen to music in the background. Nothing against Uncle Acid's artistic vision, just a personal pref.
I downloaded the album for a very long flight and I was honestly disappointed. The one song that I started to get into was just a copy of the chords in Portishead song. 😅
Pretty disappointing, 6 years to get an album that got lost in the concept, it's an album that you cannot listen to from beginning to end, which is not completely bad, but it is not good by any means
I can't get into this band. It seems like every album is a worse version of something a different band has already done. I do like all of the shout-outs though. Thanks for the video!
I've seen them twice. "Overrated" would be kind. The Dark Beatles? lol...Green Lung smokes these guys. I did try listening to this album. I couldn't make it.
I'm a big acid fan. HATE this new album. Gonna go listen to green lung (pretty sure I've heard them before), but I'm prepared for it to be regular doom fair.
EVERY uncle acid album has been amazing, EXCEPT this lazy non-music crap! Yeah, 15 percent of it is awesome, but you have to wade through all the garbage. I HATE it.
As a fan of both Uncle Acid and classic Italian giallo (and horror) cinema, I'm stoked!
Definitely not metal but it sounds like a lost Goblin soundtrack!
Holy shit! This album is amazing! The coolest and most original album I’ve heard in years! It’s a fucking masterpiece! 🔥💀🔥
One of the best albums i have ever listened to.

I feel like Giallo is having a resurgence. Cool idea for an album.
This album is so smart and incredible. Good for them for doing what they want and going where they want to go creatively.
Only Connor would use a frase like "music to my ears" during a music review. :D
Love the album, great to see the band just go for it and diversify their sound.

Just received my yellow vinyl version of it for my collection, very nice. Great band
Lucky! I'm still waiting for mine. Are the lyrics included?

It doesn't seem metal at all but damn it sounds cool. I love all the samples in the review, will definitely listen to this album!
Great review. Super cool to include bits and pieces of the songs. I'll definitely purchase it asap 🤘

Gialli were trendy in Italy from the mid-60's to the late 70's, and more trickled out beyond that.
Been into them since I bought bloodlust on cd~r and purple vinyl in 2011. Still have both.
Artists at work. Great atmosphere, their signature sound shines through and blends perfectly. Thanks for this highlight video.
Hell yeah this album fucks
This album is AOTY for me. Uncle Acid never disappoint.
very pink floyd. I love the older vibe from UA but I'm down with this too.
I fucking love this album, but I dunno if it's all *that* out there. Like a perfect marriage of vibes sure, but it's not like unheard of by any means.
Blayne looks different in this one
Blood Lust goes so fuking hard..MAKE MORE SHIT LIKE THAT🤘🏼
They have four other albums that have done that to death. This is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Uncle Acid and the live-at Pompey-sounds from Pink Floyd...
