I’m less than 27 and couldn’t agree more. In Greece, our snowboard community had been at a pretty bad state for some years. I was digging up videos from contests that ran through the mid 2000s. Once they even brought snow from the mountains straight to Athens (city center) and had an epic jib contest. There used to be big parks and whole lotta video parts. I was probably 3 back then, and seeing videos like these make me feel I’ve missed out. Thankfully though the past few years there have been lots of events, some really good films and some parts. All of those, including slaloms, documentaries etc. have provoked what I believe is the beginning of a great community. Hopefully, and quite possibly even more people about my age (14-19) will start snowboarding next year, and will discover and continue the community the slightly older shredder generation had left us with.
Bring back kingpin productions, bring back Mack dawg productions. That influenced a whole era on how to snowboard and actually have fun doing it. The wildcat boys to top it off. Now that’s snowboarding.
Pipe jerseys for the win! I still wear my old 686 one from ‘06 or ‘07. Don’t know how it’s still in good shape Also, heck yeah we’re getting old. But that just means we have old man strength! And bad knees...
Honestly couldn't agree more with number 4! More market competition, the more gnarly boards! Also Number 1 is such big facts!!! Sure I'm 15, and Avran don't bother giving me shit, I get that we got off on the wrong foot, but number 1 on this list is where we couldn't be any closer to thinking the same! Have those older guys show the younger kids, 1. what respect is, 2. how to actually improve, and 3. the mountain standards like NOT SKIING/RIDING IN FRONT OF THE JUMP WHEN SOMEONE IS DROPPING! Keep up the great content! I'll be in touch with you soon!
Aright lil dude I rode park a fair bit when I was your age but I ended up breaking my wrist at 20 and quit for the last 5 years, just got back into the park and figuring I gotta keep at it while I still got some knees left, these areas just need groups of people to ride there and enforce the park etiquette, not hanging out underneath features, keeping landings clear, using features as intended, it ain't fun to lay down the law with kids but someone gotta do it.
Xmas week 2022 witnessed the onslaught of parents forcing their travel weary offspring to learn to “ride” and stop crying. I just don’t remember the holiday pressure on children to hurry the fuck up and have fun you are ruining your parent’s vacation. That was my #1 throwback wish.
I agree with it all - except the visor beanies. I'd say sorry but no I'm not sorry. also just make all us younger people wear hardboots- the constant shit flinging they will receive from snowboarders AND skiers will make them grow thicker skin...
@@HorizonVertigo they're a quiver item imo. They're pretty fun, especially on those ice/groomer days where I just want to charge and huck rollers. But deffo not for most, especially because they kinda' hurt at first and take some getting used to haha

I wear this old red ll bean pullover for my spring slush slaying and I have been for about 15 years -it doesn't look the coolest but it has a hood that flaps in the wind and a kangaroo pouch that holds all my shit. Let's bring back the not giving a fuck about fashion style eg. Necky on the head, ripped gear (it's old but they don't make those anymore) wristguard mittens ffs, and anything else that flaps in the wind for style points. Maybe more yelling, enthusiasm, and maybe some punk rock vibes instead of this yoga bullshit
@@AngrySnowboarder meh I sprain my wrist every year even wearing wrist guards I'm sure it would be worse without em... but I'm just saying everyone has matching coat and pants, matching goggle etc. But your probably used to that shit at Vail haha
#1 Let's make buying a lift ticket for the elite again...oh wait, have you seen what a lift ticket or season pass cost' these days. #2 Spray jerrys that stand on the knuckle... do your duty. #3 go build a jump... you have no idea what makes for a good jump and you will get broke off if you're stupid #4 earn your turns and learn to respect the mountains #5 give the tour-ons all the power and respect that they deserve because it takes 100,000 people with real jobs to maintain your fantasy lifestyle in each resort town each week
The X games this year fucking sucked to watch. Years past I tried to defend the x games and dew tour but now the super pipe and slope style was literally the same exact tricks and runs over and over. I feel like they should make a rule where you can’t do the same trick more than once in any of your runs. Meaning you must plan out when you want to do your 1440 triple cork. It’s fucking lame to watch 2 rounds of the SAME FUCKING LINE. Then final round SAME FUCKING LINE.
#1 directly correlates with snowboarding abandoning punk and metal (and the mindsets and cultures that come with them) for electronic and rap that 12 year old girls listen to. We're going soft.
@@AngrySnowboarder well, I didn't before... I just miss the rowdy, rebellious culture that snowboarding/skating/surfing was until it was taken over by chipmunk electro lifestyle vlog dickheads trying to sell me cheap goggles and squarespace.
While we're at it, lets just bring back full camber - everything is full camber. That way the younger generation will learn to not be a bunch of bleeping wussies.
lol the outcast and punk rock vibe has been commodified and corporatized, packaged and presented as products to buy online. dude, there are enough skier fuckwits and fuckwits generally at resorts without snowboarders being hated as well. There's enough hate in the world already.
You should record children’s audio books with this voice... if this your normal voice well I’m sorry, it’s hilarious... and it would be more hilarious in rudely read children’s books. I’d pay real money to listen to that.
Make angry snowboarder pipe jerseys.

Didn't really feel that old until I realized I still have a beanie with a lip visor on it probably from around 98
I’m 46 with a beanie lip visor 👍

Smokin and their Buck Ferton line of boards were certainly doing their bit for the rivalry. Good boards as well
I'm so old, I can't even talk about it. My 31st season.
#4,#1. Amen
New for the AS merch store “rose covered glasses”.
Things like Knuckle Huck and whatever Fridge is doing are so much more fun and creative
I could use a visor beanie. I went to high school in the mid-2000s and cool kids wore visor beanies.

Still rocking my ~15 year old visor beanie.
I gotta agree with all these 🤷🏻♂️
I still rock a 32 visor beanie to this day. Nothing holds my goggles on my forehead on a long chair ride better than a visor beanie.
Completely agree with the five points. Best top5 ever. I’m 37 hahaha.. but in best shape of my life
