Great video, man! Only winners here - I loved the two Engls: maybe I need to shake the slight dislike for them finally! Always knew they make great amps but being from Germany where everyone gets an Engl as their first tube head I've heard hundreds of them dialed in in the most horrible ways but you made them sound amazing! Also feels great to see the Prometheus being able to hold it's ground while still bringing something unique to the table!
I was waiting for you to do this exact type of shootout video. This was my 1st listen to the Prometheus and color me impressed! I was also impressed by the Fireball 25. I've been trying to decide on my first ENGL amplifier and now I know what to add to my ever growing collection. Thanks Jarrod for being my go-to guy for all things hi-gain related.
The Prometheus totally standed for itself 🔥I loved how the Savage and the Red sounded too, but the Prometheus sounded here less compressed so maybe it´s a matter of what are you looking for in an amp. Great vid 🤘🤘
I like the sort of mid range growl of the Prometheus, its reminiscent of a good boosted Marshall. The other amps were all great but seemed a bit stiff and boxy compared to the Prometheus. Thanks for the comparisons!
It held up well I preferred it to all, til the end, I preferred both Engls but I'm sure the Prometheus is more raw and feature laden and I'm still tempted by one \m/ great video dude \m/
Any one of those amps will do the thing and do it well. Once you have an amp at those levels of quality you can’t lose. My buddy got a bad ass KSR amp and it too does the thing. I would gladly take any one of those amps and be done with it.
As a Stealth 100 owner, and I have to say that the Prometheus and the Savage had the most bite -- the Prometheus taking it by a nose. Any idea when the Prometheus is available for purchase (not seeing anything on the Lichtlaern site)? Would be interesting to see it go against the Badlander - Mr Scary head? Thanks so much for this shoot out, Jarrod. Fantastic job.
Hey mate, have you tried it against the JP2C? Which one would you pick to buy first if you wanted both? Keeping in mind that the JP2C is double the price of the Prometheus :'D
No more cranked lead volume on the Savage ? :p ;) I also own the Savage MK2 and my settings are close to your new settings (hi gain on for the extra low mid, contour on for the extra low mid again, lead volume between 5 and 7, presence pretty hi to compensate) and I've always preferred them to the crancked volume. In any case, great video!
Thanks for commenting. I adjusted the lead volume because at when it's cranked all the way up, the effects Loop sounds weird. Putting it back to noon makes the effects Loop work better.
@@TONEWARSgearshow yes, it makes sense because the output volume of the effects loop is dependent on the channel volume and this can pose a problem in terms of impedance. Thank for your feedback ! Great vidéo ;)
The Prometheus seemed a little too scooped and/or fizzy for me. The EVH has a voicing that just cuts. The Savage just has a signature sound that a dig the most, though.
Hi off subject . So we have spoken about mezzabarba before . Can it really sound its best at bedroom levels . Getting fed up with trying to get good tones at bedroom level with valve .thinking of just going for a fm9 turbo and some frfr s in stereo
You're always going to lose some low end at bedroom levels because that's just the nature of cabs. I think the tone would be good though, but you just won't have a huge low end. That's probably going to be true with every amplifier at bedroom level

Thank you so much! Your amplifier stood up to all of these amazing amps. It's definitely something everyone should have in their collections
"This is some serious gourmet shit"
Love it! Thanks for the shoutout! The boost Karen skit had me in bits 😂

Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. All of these amplifiers are amazing.
I got the Fireball 100 then the SE FE ENGL. I love the SE FE
Omg thank you for this!!! I asked for this video just the other day on here.

REDSEVEN Leviathan's tone's a killer! Great shootout...
Thanks for the video, J.
Cheers

Man the Prometheus is a dream, but I think the biggest shocker for me was actually hearing that 25w Fireball, that thing is a pocket rocket 😮
Great video dude. Thanks for pictures of amp settings
Savage for the win, Prometheus second, Fireball third, Stealth last...I guess I have a thing for the German voicing.
All of them sound killer! Prometheus is a beast for sure. Would be happy to see a comparison with Badlander w/ Mr. Scary mod as well.
The prometheus sounded so clear.
Good shiizzle.
Amazing amp, the Prometheus sounds very, very good. My two favourites in the video: the Leviathan and the Prometheus.
Great amplifiers.
Prometheus sounds awesome - beautiful looking amp also many cool features (pre amp bypass is really cool)
I like the sort of mid range growl of the Prometheus, its reminiscent of a good boosted Marshall. The other amps were all great but seemed a bit stiff and boxy compared to the Prometheus. Thanks for the comparisons!
Not to subtract from the Prometheus- but the R7 and Savage Mk2 showed the old boys can still kick ass and take names.
i want the fireball... because its in my budget LOL

You can also match the Engls even closer like Jarrod said - especially the Savage was surprisingly close here eight even trying to match them!
I almost forgot: Engl Savage for the win ;)
Can you do a comparison between lichtlaerm Prometheus and driftwood purple nightmare
I like it better than all of them except for the Engl amps. I think it's close to a draw with the Engl amps.

They’re available via mail only right now but for the next batch (late July) we’ll put up a product page as well 🙂
@@lichtlaermaudio Thank you for the info.
Awesome!!!!!!
They all sounded good to me! So if you were giving away any of them i would be happy! I like the Engl Savage its great!

Those big babys! OD pedals are a tool! I use them all the time! 😃
I got something ya need to try!

get an attenuator like the Ironman II, it’s a priceless investment for ppl with tube amps and almost completely transparent
Sunday morning is right for fighting...Forget Saturday night!!! LOL
Savage🔥🔥🔥👌🔥🔥🔥
Savage all the way for me, huge thumpy low end on single notes
i like the the Prometheus the best then savage then evh
You need to make a coffee cup that says boost Karen tears….you would instantly have a buyer right here.
Great idea!!!
Wow, that Fireball sounded amazing! Jarrod, have you tried mixing two boost pedals to maximize the amount of salt that can be mined from the Karens?
Haha maybe I should try that
I would take any of the ENGL amps, NONE of the others were anything to write home about!
Engl 100 furst, evh 2nd, then the Prometheus
Yesssss 🤘🏼
