His first book should have been called just Framed and this one Framed Ink, it would have been more appropriate. His books are some of the best books to learn solid fundamentals. They'll get you really far, as long as you apply what you learn.

The b&w stuff reminds me a bit of Charlie Adlard (Walking Dead comics). The emphasis on precise practical aspects seems like an interesting take.
