one of the best and most memorable adverts ever to grace our screens. excellent job. a story told in two minutes flat with humour, sadness and a happy ending, cant be bad!
I loved these adverts when they first came out and they still make me laugh out loud. RIP Lonnie Brooks, the guitarist in the adverts who passed away earlier this year.
They made very entertaining adverts in those days. Those nowadays are totally PC and very irritating. I record programmes and fast forward when the dirge comes on
@@neilewart4347 come on mate...99% of ads then were utter pap. Allied Carpets, Curry’s, PCWorld, cheesy Coke/Pepsi ads. Mostly forgettable. We only remember the 1% that stood out and there are some great ones now that will be remembered in 20 years while most will be forgotten. I’m not sure how you think PC culture would prevent this advert from being made today?
@@PaulHussey01 I believe there were rules about advertising alcohol. You couldn't suggest it made you more desirable etc so Heineken and Carlsberg came up with some seriously imaginative ideas. I'm sure there were others too. I love this one and the 'wandered lonely as a cloud' one.
@@SmontheVidd You’re absolutely right. The rules were strict, you couldn’t suggest a certain alcoholic drink made you more attractive. One of the most brazen circumventions I remember was Martini. They had a series of outrageously over the top ads which I guess the censors took as parody. Amazing! ruclips.net/video/wOeZSQz8c5A/видео.html
I Loved this advert as a kid when it came on I laughed my head off. Despite of loosing his woman and car he got a record deal haha the universe does tend to unfold in a number of mysterious ways.
@@CGCEifel you're going to think I'm bullshitting you, but I was exactly the same. I was searching for Budweiser and blues, but nothing was showing up.
I've remembered the song off this advert for years, but I was so young that I couldn't remember what the advert was for. Finding this advert on youtube after 25 years is amazing.
So glad you enjoy them as much as I do!.. I'm sure that they could have made many more with the same theme, while still keeping the class and charm of these two. Why they didn't who knows!, but it had to have been good for the brand! Great example of US talent at it's very best! You said it "priceless perfection"
These were absolutely great adverts. Hadn't seen this one for years and suddenly remember it like it was yesterday. Yeah, it made me laugh out loud the points where they start towing his car away; puts his foot through the floor and when the harp player attempts to take up where the other guy left off.
I have been looking for a long time for this commercials, and to day I found it again.. But the video quality is not good. Please make this shine again wit a upgrade in video and sound quality.. This is classic and cut be one of the best commercial/advert of all time..
Glad you still find them enjoyable after all this time.. Every second of these adds was perfectly constucted by some extremely talented people, and It leaves us wishing for more!.. From what I've seen, I am truly convinced that high exposure to a vast majority of our modern dumbing-down of society adds can cause mild depression, or even brain damage! A false myth built up by advertisers is that, if adds annoy you they must be working! Rubbish!
Simply the best advert ever.
Still makes me laugh all these years later.
😅 1:31 "Shut up, woman! I'm listenin'."

This just doesn't age! Love all the little bits like the record exec not knowing where his heart is!
+Prince Westerburg Totally agree
Love this advert, fantastic. I was well chuffed to find it on the Tube.
The guy playing the guitar is the late Lonnie Brooks who passed away a few days ago. Great blues guy,,, playing to the end.
