Years ago, I was a drummer in a SLAYER tribute band in the Boston area. We called ourselves "Post Mortem".
After a SLAYER show at the Avalon in Boston, we got backstage to meet Jeff and Paul. He was a super cool guy and told me to always "Warm up and practice, practice, practice". Thanks Paul. That 2 min. changed my life!
I use all the same sticks and stick wrap because I read about Paul using them, I’ve never broken a Vater drumstick 🍗 best sticks I’ve ever used 🥁🥁🥁🤘😝🤘🥁🥁🥁
I am guilty of being one of the kids who wanted to hate Paul because he replaced my favourite drummer,(I was a kid,I know how dumb it was now)
When you look at the history of thrash metal, Paul is a pivotal part of it from the early 90s onwards,he was able to play with slayer and do a great job when it came to playing Dave Lombardo's stuff, and not many could say that back then, but the fact he's been in testament and exodus and was a part of keeping these bands alive and active is so overlooked, I hate how slayer shafted Dave I'm 2013 and I have never brought slayer stuff without Lombardo's drumming on the album, but I'm happy for Paul that he was able to be the drummer in slayer one last time on the retirement tour, just a shame we didn't get to see Dave Lombardo up there at the end.
Please, come back to Slayer!!
Paul is a Professional. No doubt about it.
