Steve ashiem of deicide is the reason I use Vater,I sang three or four songs for them ( I think it was the stench of redemption tour) They were doing their first gig in the UK and Glenn was held up in America so the band was jack Owen, Ralph santolo, and Steve ashiem the drummer, jokingly I said to Ralph that I'd jump in and do a few songs for them, not for one minute thinking he took me seriously, well as I'm watching the second band,a torch is getting Shone in my face, when I finally realised, I walked over to the security who was doing it, and Ralph and jack suddenly popped their heads up and the next thing I know I'm in the back, with the lyrics for 4 songs, and smoking a Hash pipe with Steve, I went on sang the songs, only made one mistake, and it was amazing,he gave me two t-shirts, and a deicide work shirt, but most importantly, he gave me two drumsticks that he used that night,one plastic tip and one wood, big fat strong sticks but not heavy to use , and the balance of weight between all the sticks was perfect, even when I dropped a stick in the middle of the song , the stick I'd grab whilst playing would feel right, immediately,if you are a drummer you know what I mean.
i love them both but bostaph over lombardo. lombardo is old but definitely a good influence. there would be no slayer with out lombardo, but bostaph is great, listen to richard hung himself, nobody can play drums like that, such precision on the double kick drums .
Paul BOSTAPH played all the Dave LOMBARDO Slayer songs but Dave L. (I like his style and technique too, of course...) never want to play Paul BOSTAPH songs ! This fact shows Paul B. is Untouchable in metal drumming and in Slayer Quality Drumming !
Tommy Aldridge!! I jammed with Paul one night and broke a few srtings. When I ran into him a couple years later, he asked, "are you still breaking strings?" hahaha!
@thispagesux you are not alone.... ;) have "fought" countless times for this. I believe no other drummer coud give "God Hates Us All" that awesome groove, the way Bostaph did.
Funny thing. Amazing death metal drummers always have such a relaxed and nice talking voice and a lot of them started out listening to the Beatles and the Beach boys..........beach boys ? I mean seriously man
Damn i didnt realize how many fucking bands he was in! And all the best ones too!
Dalé Paul Bostaph! The best trash metal drummer in the world!
Destroyyy!!! Fuck yeaaahhh
Mickey D!!!! Motorhead&King Diamond!!! Paul is an outstanding drummer with an awesome taste.
YEAH PAUL BACK IN FUCKING SLAYER 🍕
i love how they keep the "more than meets the eye" riff on a loop during the interview. its such a good driving riff!
paul is the the beast!!!!very great drummer
slayer was amazing with this guy

This guy and Gene are the bosses of the metal drumkit.
He's fucking awesome - I love Slayer and Testament. Can't pick between them - but he is fucking insane!!!
AGREED!!!
@thispagesux well im with you cause paul is far beyond dave's skill
@thispagesux me too man!! me too!! DIVINE INTERVETION IS A PIECE OF GOLD!!
i love them both but bostaph over lombardo. lombardo is old but definitely a good influence. there would be no slayer with out lombardo, but bostaph is great, listen to richard hung himself, nobody can play drums like that, such precision on the double kick drums .
Killing Fields
@thispagesux not alone pal.
Divine Intervention is a classic. Alongside Hell Awaits, Divine is Slayer's most progressive record.
Dave and Paul are my favorite drummer.

I think maybe he is best metal drummer this my opinion because he did amazing parts and amazing drum recordings on slayer.
@thispagesux i think too.
Tommy Aldridge!!

He's the "little" Gene Hoglan.
More people should listen to Forbidden's classic stuff.
Thrash not Trash!
So I must be the 5% who think that Lombardo was Britney Spears best drummer. I mean He's good but Lombardo, is LOMBARDO!
THRASH wm THRASH WMMM!!!!!!!!!!!
hes great but lombardo takes it
he does better in testament though
